Leah's POV

"So this is the space for our farewell party," Renesmee said dryly as she showed me around the garden scene and hardwood floors of the one of Washington's best hotels. I didn't know how I got dragged into this … oh that's right Jacob. He was supposed to be filling in for Seth but he had to review something with Quil at work and I was hypnotized by his wet nakedness as he came out of the shower as he asked me for a favor. Obviously this wasn't the favor I thought he had in mind. I shook of the thought and watched Renesmee. I couldn't believe that I was spending a whole afternoon with the being that inadvertently caused me a great deal of struggle in my life. Jake has been wanting us to do the double date thing with Seth and her, he was sure that I'd like her. I didn't know about that. I had to admit it was a little hard for me to believe that Jake was never attracted to her. She was really pretty, very much like her mother except her big brown eyes were and curly copper hair. I constantly wondered how he managed to stay focused on me all these years.

"I feel it's pointless to have this party. I would just like something a bit more intimate. I know that Seth would probably prefer to hang out with his family and have one of Miss Sue's dinners. I know that's what I would want." I nodded I agreed.

"We could always do both. I'm sure my mom would love to throw something together," I said numbly. She turned and looked at me and offered me a little smirk.

"This is killing you isn't it?" We were interrupted by one of the gentlemen from the hotel handing her the bill for the event. She was doing Carlisle a favor since he was called into work for an emergency surgery. She signed off on all the paperwork and then the disappeared and we walked to the car in silence.

"I hate when people don't answer my questions," she sighed and started the car but left it in park.

"You asked if 'this' is killing me, but I'm not one hundred percent sure I know what you're talking about." I was being intentionally obtuse. If she was anything like me she'd hate that too.

"Why won't you go on a double date with your brother and me?" I rolled my eyes obviously Jacob has been talking to her.

"I'm a little old for double dates … it's been years since Jacob and I were together I'd rather spend my time with him by myself." I watched as she weighed what I said in her head.

"That's your fault though. I was actually a little pissed when I heard you were coming back here. Jacob and I are really close." I scoffed out my laughter.

"No kidding," I griped bitterly she glared at me for a moment.

"Anyway, I couldn't see how he held such a torch for you when you hurt him so badly," she snapped in her special quiet tone. I was in shock and I laughed a little bit. I refused to be the villain in this when I felt my intentions were selfless. I left so Jacob could be happy and so I wouldn't be hurt.

"He knew why I had to leave. It wasn't like I did myself any favors either. I hurt myself and even though it seems kind of pointless now I still feel it was necessary. I needed to make sure I wasn't hurt again. I still don't get how he broke his imprint to you … but I'm not going to complain because … I'm the happiest I ever been in my entire life." Renesmee seemed really confused she glanced over at me a couple of times and a look of realization hit her eyes.

"So you left because of me? Jake never told me why. He always said you ran because you were scared to trust him." She cut the car off and now I was a little pissed. I was ready to go. I didn't need this stroll down memory lane. Nothing but depression comes from my past.

"He was right for the most part. I was scared because of how much I cared about him. I knew I loved him when I left. I couldn't watch him fall in love with someone else before my eyes. I knew I would try to cling to him … my love would turn into obsession and then I would turn back into the woman he held me grow out of. I needed to leave so he could have the life the heavens designed for him. I didn't know that he was so determined to be with me." I held my hand to my chest my heart felt so full and heavy. I went into another world and when I resurfaced into the land of the living Renesmee was looking at me as though I lost my mind.

"Oh my God you're really into him. You look as if you're going to cry? Are you going to cry?" She examined me as if I was an alien.

"No, I'm not can we go now?" I huffed and crossed my arms. Just as I became set with looking out the window my phone buzzed.

Jake: Hey just checking in

I smirked at my phone. I hadn't been checked up on since I was a teen living with my mother. I shot him a text letting him know all was well.

Jake: Are you and Ness BFFs yet?

Me: Shouldn't you be working?

Jake: I should. I miss u.

Jake: I keep thinking about last night.

I was fighting against myself not to smirk. I could feel the heat flushing against my cheeks and affecting me elsewhere … somewhere lower.

Me: Do some work

Jake: What are you wearing?

I look over to Ness, who seemed to be blissfully focusing on cruising down the road. I felt exposed and kind of naughty.

Me: Jeans and a tee shirt, you know the normal

Jake: And underneath?

Me: Perv!

Jake: Answer the question Beta girl

Me: Is this an Alpha command lol

Jake: If I say yea will I get an answer

Me: I will show u when I get home

I waited for a response and when I didn't get one I assumed he actually decided to get some work done. The car stopped and I realized that we were at a familiar location. A home that I declared I would never enter in my youth.

"Jake's here I figured you might want to see him instead of texting him," Ness declared smugly as she exited her red Volvo. I groaned and prepared for the burning sensation in my nose. As soon as I entered the house I heard Seth and Jacob upstairs bickering and banging on something.

"Oh my guy's here too," Ness squealing a little before brushing past me. She did exactly what I felt like doing. I watched as she ran up to my brother and he wrapped her up in his arms. She kissed him all over his face. "What are you doing here?"

"Esme called Jake over to fix someone the walls in the house. She wanted the house to be in perfect shape for the next owner. There's only a few rooms that need attention," Seth explained.

"The walls near the bedposts … dents. I wonder how they got there." Jacob looked up at me and smirked. "Hey beta girl," he whispered.

"Hey," I managed to mutter and I was almost bashful about it. I was shuffling my feet for crying out loud. The sight of Jacob Black had me acting like a teenager.

"You're in the Cullen house," he said as he worked smoothing out a shellac like material in the wall I watched him intently I loved watching him work with his hands.

"You're very observant," I said dryly as I placed my hands on my hips. I noticed he took a moment to eye my legs before finishing what he was doing.

"Yeah I am," he murmured and gave a half smile. He dropped his scrapper in his bucket. He stood up and he was wearing his black tank and his work jeans. He was all polka dotted with white paint and just delectable. He looked down and followed my line of vision that had landed on his crotch. Yes, his glorious crotch which I would love to be straddled on top of him. Seth cleared his throat and dissipated the tension between us.

"Ness said you finally agreed to a double date!" My brother wrapped his arm around me and I groaned. Ness skipped in behind him and I looked hopelessly to Jacob who gave me a knowing grin.

"I said no such thing," I muttered.

"But you did say you don't hate me now, so what's stopping you from hanging out with now?" She asked and I groaned again. Sex. Sex was the reason I wanted to go home with Jacob immediately.

"Jacob make her see reason!" Ness whined and Jake chuckled then scratched the back of his head. I could imagine the conflict internal conflict between his girlfriend and his imprint.

"I'm not getting in the middle of this. I do know I need to go home before I head anywhere. I'm in desperate need of a shower." I looked him over I desperately need to be in the shower with him. My mind started to wander to me washing his back and my teeth grazing his wet skin.

"Leah? Leah? Are you still with us?"

"Huh oh yeah of course." I focused back on the three people in front of me.

"So you will?" Seth asked.

"Will what?"

"Go with us later tonight, come on it will be fun!" Ness cheered. I was too wrapped up in my fantasies to even pretend to know what they were talking about but I did feel Jake wrap his arm around my waist.

"Come on baby, it'll be fun," he whispered in my ear.

"Yeah, okay whatever," I murmured back to him.
