Chapter 27: Motherly Advice
Adam yawned as he got Miri all settled into her car seat. Miri was hardly away and barely holding onto her sippy cup and teddy bear. He and Cooper had decided to head up north with his family. The would stay a few days.
"Ok I think that's everything," Cooper said as he stuffed their suitcase in the trunk. They had two suitcases. Miri had her own suitcase and her diaper bag. They were also brining her playpen for her to sleep in.
"Alright I called my dad last night and let him know we would be coming up," Adam said.
"Alright then, let's get this show on the road then," Cooper said with a smile.
The pair climbed into the front seat and Cooper started driving. Adam leaned back in his seat trying to get comfortable for the long ride.
"You ok Addie?" Cooper asked.
"Yeah, baby is moving a lot," Adam said placing a hand on his stomach with a small smile.
"Aw, is baby Kendall getting antsy?" Cooper asked.
"I think so, I think he wants out," Adam joked. He then looked down at his stomach. "Sorry, you've still gotta wait a few months," he said.
"Please wait a few more months," Cooper said glancing back at Miri. She had been born premature and had barely survived. It was a miracle she was alive.
"So are we gonna finally tell my dads on the name we decided on?" Adam asked.
"Sure, but I don't think you pa is gonna be too happy and he's gonna try and change our minds," Cooper replied.
"Let him, I've made up my mind," Adam said.
"You can be stubborn, but then again so is your pops. I guess I know where you get it from," Cooper chuckled. Adam just stuck his tongue out at Cooper who laughed.
"I get it from my dad too so I'm like double stubborn," Adam replied.
"True," Cooper said nodding his head.
"This is gonna be a long ride, wake me up when we stop for lunch or something," Adam said leaning back and closing his eyes.
"Will do preggers," Cooper replied. Adam smacked Cooper's arm causing him to laugh. "Watch it I'm driving," he said.
"Sorry, don't call me that," Adam replied.
-We Are-
Kyle sighed as he fell down onto his bed. Everyone was out in the living room talking and having fun. Kyle didn't feel much like being around the others. He wasn't sure why, but he felt like something was missing. In the back of his mind he knew it had to do with Jared not being here, but he didn't want to think about popstar. He could go a few days without talking to him. He would be fine.
"Dude you ok?"
Kyle lifted his head and looked to see Miles and Lucas standing in the doorway. Kyle let his head fall back.
"Yeah, I'm fine," Kyle replied. "Just tired."
"Sure, so it has nothing to do with the fact that Jared hasn't called you in a couple days?" Miles asked walking into the room. Kyle finally sat up to look at the two.
"He sounded a bit jumpy the last time we talked," Kyle said biting his lip. "I don't know if I should be worried."
"I'm sure he's fine, didn't you say his niece was going into surgery? He's probably worried about her," Miles said.
"I guess," Kyle sighed.
"Now come on we are gonna have a fire outback," Lucas said.
Kyle nodded his head and heaved himself up. He follows Miles and Lucas from the room. They all slipped their boots and jackets on. The headed out back where everyone else was already sitting around the small fire pit.
"Hey, you actually got him out of bed," Lilly said once she spotted them.
"You act like in a hermit, I'm not the one who hides away," Kyle said looking at her pointedly. Lilly just stuck her tongue out at him. The boys sat down with the others.
Everyone sat around talking and laughing. Kyle couldn't help but think about Jared. It wasn't usual for him not to call, but he hadn't even gotten a text or any kind of message. Kyle knew Thai was normal. He just hated that he couldn't see Jared when ever he wanted.
"Stop moping," Lilly said nudging Kyle after awhile.
"Huh?" Kyle asked looking up to the Latina.
"You've been awfully quiet," Lilly said.
"Sorry, just thinking," Kyle said as his phone started ringing. He quickly pulled his phone from his pocket. Jared's name flashed across his screen. "I gotta take this," he said jumping up. He answers his phone as he walked back inside the cabin.
"Hey Jer, what's up?" Kyle asked.
"You busy?" Jared asked.
"No why?" Kyle asked as he shed his jacket and kicked his boots off by the door.
"My parents showed up last night. They wanted to talk to me," Jared said.
"Oh," Kyle said as he walked into his room. He knew all about Jared's relationship with his parents. He knew how strained it was.
"Yeah, they wanted to apologize and I blew them off? Am I the bad guy here for not even letting them talk?" Jared asked.
"No, I mean...I don't know. It's a tough call Jer. I don't know how I'd react if that was me," Kyle said slowly.
"Seeing them just brought back all that hurt and anger. I just...I don't want anything to do with them Kyle. Is it bad to say that about my parents?" Jared asked.
"Kind of, but with the way they treated you, I don't know," Kyle said.
"This sucks, they even brought Jill and Carly to try and get me to hear them out," Jared groaned.
"Maybe you should hear them out," Kyle said slowly.
"I am twenty Kyle, they had two years to do this. Why wait until now? Why even kick me out in the first place. Honestly I think they just want to claim a famous son," Jared said.
"I don't know what you want me to say Jer," Kyle sighed. He could not understand what Jared was going through. He had never really had to deal with the things Jared did. His dad's were supportive for the most part. There were a few things they disapproved of, but they usually came around.
"Nothing, I don't want you to say anything Kyle. I just need to get this out of my system, just let me rant," Jared said calmly.
Kyle did just that. He let Jared rant and vent his feelings. He let him get everything out in the open. This was what Jared needed.
-We Are-
Lilly sat there a moment watching where Kyle had disappeared. She had seen the smile on his face, so that meant only one person was calling him. She looked away and to the fore before her. She tried not to let it get to her. She hated that she wasn't the reason he smiled anymore. In the back of her mind she knew she needed to move on, but something was preventing her.
Leora scooted closer to Lilly and got her attention. Lilly looked to her friend who was holding a set of car keys. "I convinced my dad to let us go shopping," she said quickly.
"Cool," Lilly said smiling. Maybe shopping would get her mind off the blonde boy.
"Let's go," Leora said grabbing her hand and pulling her up.
The two quickly left and drove into town. Leora dragged Lilly all over the place. Lilly let her do as she please. Leora was always the crazier of the two.
"Ok what gives?" Leora asked as they stopped for lunch.
"Nothing, I guess my mind is just elsewhere," Lilly sighed as she stirred her drink with her straw.
"Please tell me this isn't about Kyle. I saw you two talking and the look on your face when he left," Leora said.
"It's nothing, just me being silly I guess," Lilly said looking down at her food.
"Lilly, why are you still so hung up on him? If you ask me you got off easy. He's a pig, his room is a mess and he's gross," Leora said making a face.
"You can say that, he's your brother," Lilly said shaking her head. "You also forgot he kind, sweet, charming and just perfect," she sighed.
"You need to find a guy and pronto," Leora said shaking her head.
"I'm sorry Le, I wish I could forget about him and while I was away in Minnesota over the summer I did. Then we came back and I see him every day and it hurts that I am not the reason he smiles. It hurts to see him with someone else," Lilly said stabbing her food with her fork.
"Lilly, you need to let go," Leora said.
"I want to, but part of me can't. I just can't and every time I see him I think of what we had and it hurts," Lilly said biting her lip.
-We Are-
Jared paced back and forth in the room he had been sharing with Roldy. He hadn't left the room all morning. Roldy was at the hospital with the guys. Jared wanted to be there, but he was trying to sort things out with himself first. He had Kyle in hopes of getting this out of his system. It wasn't the same with Kyle so far away. He was torn over what to do about his parents. There was only one reason he could think of as to why they would suddenly want to be a part of his life again.
Jared looked at his watch and saw the time. If he didn't leave now he would get a chance to see Mia before she went into surgery. Jared left the room and headed down stairs. He saw Deanna sitting on the couch watching TV.
"It's about time you came down," Deanna said with a smile. She turned the TV off and stood up. "Please tell me you were at least talking to someone and not yourself up there," she said with a smile.
"Kind of both, I called my boyfriend," Jared said blushing.
"Good, you're not completely crazy. A little crazy is fine but we better get you to the hospital to see Mia," Deanna said walking past him and grabbing her car keys. She turned back to him. "Are you coming or not?"
"You're not mad at how I acted last night," Jared asked confused. He was sure she would've been upset over how he acted. She was more like a mother to him than his own mother. She was always scolding him, but in a good way. She just wanted what was best for him.
"No way, I told them you react this way. I was trying to get them to leave before you showed up. I think bringing your sisters with was a bad idea," Deanna said grabbing Jared's arm and leading him out the door.
"Thanks Mrs. H," Jared said smiling.
"Anything for you Jared," Deanna replied with a smile.
The two got into the car and Deanna started driving. Jared started to get lost in his thoughts once more. He wanted to know what Deanna thought of last night's visit.
"So what do you think they wanted?" Jared asked.
"I don't know, somehow I don't think it's about wanting forgiveness, I know Todd isn't the type to admit he's wrong," Deanna said.
"I'm afraid of that," Jared said looking out the window as the rode along.
"Look Jared, you are an adult now and you can make your own decisions," Deanna said.
"I know, but they are my parents," Jared said. It was true they were his parents. A part of him wanted their approval and their love, even if it came at a price. He wanted nothing more than to have a family again.
"Jared they are not your family," Deanna said almost as if she had read his mind. "By they I mean Todd and Erin. Jill and Carly and your brothers are still your family, but those two...if they could kick you out like that then no. You don't need them. You have family here with me and Roldy, Noah and Matt as well."
Jared let those words sink in. The guys were like family to him. Hell they all dropped everything for Matt's niece. Jared also ways considered Deanna second mom. She was right, he already had a family. Jared smiled as he thought about that.
"Thanks," Jared said again.
Once the reached the hospital Jared took off toward Mia's room. He hoped he wasn't too late to see her. He knew she'd be upset with him if he didn't see her before hand. Jared reached her room where the guys were all sitting with Mia. Her eyes lit up as she saw Jared.
"You here!" Mia said.
"I wouldn't miss this for the world Mia," Jared replied sitting down next to the young girl. He quickly pulled her into a hug, which Mia gladly returned. "Sorry I was late," he added looking down at her.
"It's ok, you here," Mia said smiling up at him.
"Just in time too," Roldy said.
"Yeah, Marney and Ross are talking to the doctor they are about to take her to the OR," Matt said.
"I'm scared," Mia said in a small voice. She had her hands clasped together tightly as she looked at them.
"It's ok to be scared Mia," Jared said looking down at her. "I was scared before my first concert." He looked to the guys. They all nodded their heads.
"We all were," Matt said.
"Yes, but then we reminded each other of how brave we were," Jared said looking down at Mia. "You miss, are the bravest, strongest, toughest, coolest little girl I know," he said.
"And after this you will get better and you'll get to go home soon," Noah said.
"You can do this Mia, we all believe in you," Roldy said encouragingly.
"Ok, I'll do it," Mia said quickly. The guys all gave her a hug as a few nurses and a doctor came into the room. Mia looked to them with a smile. "I'm ready," she said.
"Well ok then, let's get you all better," the doctor said with a smile.
-We Are-
Jake bit his lip as he waited for Damien to return. Damien had left with Tito to get some lunch. Jake told them he wasn't feeling good and to go without him.
It was partly true. Jake felt sick to his stomach. He was so nervous about telling He was pregnant. Every time he tried the words died in his throat or he heart started beating faster. Jake wasn't sure why he was so nervous. Maybe it had something to do with the fact that they were both still in college. Or that hey weren't ready for a baby yet. If Jake was ready for this then why would Damien be. He was probably going to be upset since Jake was supposed to be on birth control.
Jake fell back into the couch with a groan. He was starting to get a headache. He just needed to get this over with. He had to tell Damien the truth.
As if on cue the door opened and Damien walked in alone. Jake sat up and looked at him. He had a small take out box in his hands. Jake smiled at how thoughtful he was. He stood and walked over to his husband and gave him a peck on the lips.
"I brought you some food in case you were hungry," Damien said.
"Thanks, maybe in a bit, first we need to talk," Jake said taking the food and setting it aside. He turned to Damien and led him over to the couch.
"What wrong, you've been acting really strange, even before this trip," Damien said.
"I know and I'm sorry Day, I've just been so freaked out and I just have to get this over with," Jake said looking down at his hands. Damien grabbed his hands and Jake looked up at him.
"You can tell me anything Jake," he said.
Jake swallowed the lump in his throat. It was now or never. He just had to rip the bandaid off and say it. He took one more calming breath before he spoke.
"I'm pregnant."
"I'm sorry come again," Damien said after a moment of shock.
"I'm pregnant, and I know this isn't what you want to hear and you're probably mad at me-" Jake was silenced by a pair of lips on his. Damien pulled back and looked into Jakes eyes with a smile.
"You're going to have my baby?" Damien asked.
Jake nodded his head tears still in his eyes. Damien wiped them away before pulling Jake into a hug.
"This is amazing Jake," Damien said quickly as he held him tight. "I mean it's not ideal, but we can make this work," he said as he sat back.
"You're not mad then?" Jake asked.
"No, why would I be, you're having my baby," Damien said excitedly.
Jake smiled at that. Suddenly all his fears from before seemed so silly. Damien was happy and it was contagious.
"I thought you were on birth control though," Damien said quickly.
"I was, but did you know antibiotics make is useless," Jake asked.
"I'm so happy right now," Damien said looking at Jake once more. His hand came down to Jake stomach. "Our baby is gonna be right there," he said.
"I know, it's weird," Jake said looking down at Damien's hand. "I'm probably only about two months along, so I won't be showing for awhile," he said.
"This is gonna be awesome," Damien said a huge smile on his face. He hugged Jake once more. "My mom is gonna freak out. She been hinting that she might want grandkids and since I'm an only child that meant me," he said laughing. Jake smiled at that.
"My dads, I don't know what they'll think. I mean they already have and another on the way," Jake said.
"They'll be happy, I think they are finally getting use to being grandparents," Damien chuckled.
"So you're ok with this?" Jake asked.
"This is better than what I thought you were gonna say. I was scared you wanted a divorce or something," Damien said taking Jake's hands in his. He pulled them to his lips and kissed them. "While this isn't the most ideal situation, we will make this work. I mean if we have to take a semester off or something we will do what ever it take for this little one," he said sincerely.
Jake felt tears come to his eyes as he nodded his head. Damien moved to wipe his tears once more. This was everything Jake could've hoped for.
-We Are-
Kyle walked out to the living room. Lilly was the only one there sitting on the couch with a book in her hands. She looked up as he walked into the room.
"Where is everyone?" Kyle asked looking around.
"They went to see a movie," Lilly said.
"Oh, everyone?" Kyle asked. Lilly nodded her head. "Cool, I guess it's you and me then?" He asked.
"It would seem so," Lilly replied.
"So whatcha doin'?" Kyle asked sitting down next to her. She was obviously reading, but Kyle felt like messing with her a bit.
"Reading," Lilly replied.
"Whatcha readin'?"
"A book."
"Oh ha, what's the book called?" Kyle asked rolling his eyes.
"None of your business," Lilly said closing her book. Kyle made a grab for the book and Lilly moved it from his reach.
"Challenge accepted," Kyle said. He leaned over and tried to grab it.
Lilly laughed as she leaned back trying to keep it from him. Kyle leaned over more he was determined to grab the book.
"Just let me see," Kyle said making a grab for the book.
"No way," Lilly said scooting away from Kyle with a laugh.
Kyle dived for the book. Lilly fell back onto the couch and Kyle barely caught himself above her. He was hovering over her, a hand on either side of her head. Brown met green, as the two locked eyes. Kyle felt his heart start to race. All he had to do was lean down and kiss her. Why would he do that? He had Jared.
His brain seemed to click on. Kyle jumped up before he could d anything stupid. He looked at Lilly and saw the hurt in her eyes. It was too late he had done something stupid.
"Kyle," Lilly said slowly.
"I'm dating Jared," Kyle said shaking his head. "I-I'll just be in my room," He said quickly.
Kyle bolted from the room. He didn't want to think about what had almost happened. Nothing happened though. He stopped himself from doing something that could've ruined his relationship with Jared.
Kyle quickly walked into his room and shut the door behind him. He leaned back against the door and slid down until he was sitting. He was over Lilly. He was in love with Jared.
-We Are-
Jared let his head fall back against the wall. Waiting was the worst part. Matt was sitting with Marney, Ross, and his parents. They were talking quietly. Noah and Roldy were sitting quietly together holding hands beside Jared.
Jared couldn't help but think about Mia. Or even other kids at this hospital. They were sick and away from him. Some of them may even be terminal. That was a thought Jared didn't like. He couldn't help but think about how miserably the kids must be. Suddenly Jared heard something that caught his attention. It sounded like music very familiar music. Jared turned to Roldy and tapped him on the shoulder.
"Do you hear that?" Jared asked.
"I was just asking Noah that," Roldy said.
"Come on let go investigate," Jared said jumping up. "Matty do you hear that?" He asked turning to face his other bandmate.
"Hear what?" Matt asked.
"Quiet and listen," Jared said as he walked out of the room and down the hallway. The other three followed him. The all walked down the hallway to a door. They could hear their music beyond it. They turned to the nurses station next to the door. There was one nurse there she was typing away at her computer.
"Excuse me miss," Noah said getting her attention.
"Where is that music coming from," Jared asked.
"The kids get a weekly activity and this week is music," the nurse said looking up. Her jaw dropped as she realized just who she was talking to. "You're Inside Joke," she said.
"That's us," Jared said with a smile. He looked at her name tag which read, Jackie.
"If you guys don't mind, I know some kids who would be really interested in meeting you," she said.
"Sure," Jared said. Matt pulled his phone out and texted Marney telling her they'd be back in a bit and to text him if anything changed with Mia.
The nurse quickly led the guys through the door and to a big room where kids were sitting listening to music and playing with one another. There were a few other nurses in the room.
"Hey kids, I got some surprise guests here," Jackie said getting the kids attention. Everyone turned to her and they all fell silent.
"Hey," Jared said breaking the silence as one of the nurses turned the music off.
The kids all swarmed the four. They were excited to see them. He guys quickly introduced themselves and tried to learn as many names as they could. They signed a few autographs for the kids and listened to their stories. They took pictures with the kids.
"So what brings you guys here," Ned, a thirteen year old burn victim, asked the four.
"Well Matty's niece is sick too. She in surgery right now that will hopefully get her better," Jared said.
"Yeah, we were waiting for some news when we heard you guys like Inside Joke and decided to visit," Matt said nodding his head.
The guys stayed a while longer and talked with the kids. They had to go once the nurses said it was time for Dinner. One last round of hugs and pictures were taken.
The guys left feeling good. It was always nice to meet fans, but to meet such cool kids was a bonus. Jared quickly tweeted out a few photos of the surprise visit. The other the copied his actions. They returned to the waiting room where Marney and Ross were talking to the doctors. Once they left the guys ran over to the pair.
"Is she ok?" Matt asked quickly.
"She came through with flying colors. She should be just fine, lets hope the transplant takes," Marney said with fingers crossed.
"Uh how's...how's uh..." Jared said slowly.
"Jace? He's doing fine," Marney said. Jared just nodded his head.
-We Are-
The Knights and Mitchells were all sitting around the table eating dinner. Adam and Cooper had showed up a few hours ago. Everyone was happy to see them and Miri. Everyone was talking and laughing. Everyone expect Lilly and Kyle. The two were silent as they stared at their food. Kyle picked at his occasionally, but wasn't really eating.
"Lilly, are you ok," Carlos asked getting her attention. She looked up at Carlos almost shocked. She nodded her head. "You sure, you haven't eaten anything," he said.
"I'm just not hungry," Lilly replied. She stood and left the table.
Everyone watched her go before returning to their conversations. Miles and Lucas tried talking to Kyle, but he seemed a bit distant. He eventually excused himself saying he was tired.
The four adults at the table shared a look. They knew something was up. Once dinner was done and the other kids left the room the four remained in the kitchen cleaning up and talking.
"Am I the only one who saw that?" James asked lowly.
"What happened while we were gone," Carlos asked quickly.
"Kyle's not like that," Kendall said shaking his head.
"He did cheat on my daughter," Logan reminded him.
"Ok, let's not jump to conclusions," James said quickly cutting off the argument before it started. "For all we know they had an argument or something of that nature."
"He's right," Carlos said.
"Or he could be wrong, I swear if he hurt her again-" Logan started.
"What if she hurt him?" Kendall asked arching a brow at Logan
"Guy enough, we don't know anything let's not jump to conclusions," James said again. Logan and Kendall put their hands up.
"So what do we do then?" Carlos asked looking around the room.
"Nothing, if we go to them they will lie. We have to let them come to us," James said.
"So we sit back and do nothing?" Logan asked warily.
"Exactly," James said.
"Sorry if I don't sound convinced but the last time I sat back and did nothing my daughter chopped her hair off and bleached it blonde," Logan replied.
"Ok your over reacting," Kendall said.
"I am not, I don't like this," Logan said.
"What can we do Logie? James is right if we try to talk to them they won't tell us a thing. We have to trust them to make their own decisions, and hope that they will come to us if something is wrong," Carlos said.
"I guess," Logan sighed.
-We Are
Noah yawned as he walked down the hallway to the bathroom. Mia was awake and talking. She was happy to be ok, she just didn't like the pain. The doctors were giving her some medicine to help her feel better everyone was just glad she was ok.
Noah was walking when a conversation caught his attention. He paused to listen.
"Jace you're making a mistake."
"I agree with Stan, you're gonna regret not getting to know that little girl."
"Nate stop," Jace said quickly.
"No, that little girl is your daughter and she owes her life to you," Stan said.
"I don't think I could ever not want to know my child," Nate said quickly.
Noah sat there frozen in place. Where these two trying to talk Jace out of his decision not to pursue custody of Mia. Would he change his mind?
"Biologically she is my daughter, but she is not my child. I did not raise her, Marney and Ross have. They are her parents not me," Jace said firmly.
"I don't get it," Stan said.
"You don't have to get it Stan. You knew about Zelly from the beginning and I didn't know about Mia. Sorry if this ruins that fantasy you created of the two becoming best friends, but she is not my daughter," Jace said.
Noah let out a sigh of relief. He was glad that Jace seemed firm in his decision. He didn't want Jace to take Mia from her family. She didn't need all that confusion. She was happy already.
Noah looked to the door of the room. Last night he had seen Jace and his blood had boiled with anger. Now, he wasn't so angry. He wanted answers. He wanted to know why Jace had done what he had done.
Noah bit his lip conflicted. He wasn't sure what to do. It would be so easy to walk away and never see Jace again. Then on the other hand, if he went into the room maybe he could get some closure.
Against his better judgment Noah walked into the room. He knocked on the door and got the three's attention. Nate and Stan looked to him confused and Jace looked straight at him.
"Guys give me a minute," Jace said.
The two left the room without a fight. They obviously knew something was up. Noah stood there looking at Jace. All his anger from before returning.
"I think this was a mistake," Noah said finally. He turned to leave.
"Wait," Jace said holding a hand out. Noah froze and looked over his shoulder. "Please, just hear me out," he said.
"Why? Is there really a reason to beat anyone? Is there a reason to explain you're actions that will somehow justify what you did to me?" Noah asked angrily.
"No, but I am sorry Noah, that was the biggest mistake of my life and I regret it everyday. I have to live with myself knowing that I hurt you. That I hurt someone who was so kind and caring," Jace said.
"It was because of you I could never really have a serious relationship. I was always scared that they were gonna flip out on me for no reason. Or maybe I was annoying and people just didn't like me," Noah said in a small voice.
"Noah if I could take it all back I would," Jace said sincerely. He shifted on the bed and winced.
"Well you can't," Noah snapped. He glanced over his shoulder.
"I'm sorry," Jace said simply.
He wasn't ready to forgive Jace until he saw the pained look. It was more than just the physical pain he felt. He was really hurting over this. Noah just shook his head. No, he couldn't forgive Jace.
"I have to go," Noah said quickly.
He ran from the room and straight into someone. Noah looked up at Roldy. He gave him a small smile.
"Hey No, I was wondering what was taking you so long," Roldy said with a smile. He looked to the room Noah had left and his smile fell. "You-"
"I said what I had to say to him Ro," Noah said grabbing Roldy and leading him away from the room.
"Noah you didn't have to do that," Roldy said.
"I did," Noah said.
He really did need that. It felt like a weight has been lifted off his chest. He felt better. Confronting Jace helped him finally let go to everything he had been holding on to.
-We Are-
Adam watched Miles and Layla play with Jenny and Miri. The girls were laughing and running around as Miles and Layla followed them. It was so cute. Adam couldn't help but smile. Cooper was talking with Lucas and everything just seemed relaxed.
"So Adam, I gotta ask," Layla said turning to Adam. Jenny and Miri were digging toys from the toy box. Adam arched a brow signaling for her to continue. "You and Cooper are back together?"
"Yeah," Adam said.
"Ha! Miles I was so right?" Layla said pointing at Miles. Miles dug his wallet out and gave Layla twenty bucks.
"You were betting about us," Adam asked with laugh.
"Well I figured you guys would wait a bit longer. I mean..." Miles said looking away.
"If it helps we took a while figuring things out," Adam said looking over at Cooper. "A long time, but I think we finally have it all worked out," he said with a small smile.
"Good, cause you're kind of an idiot sometimes," Miles said sitting down next to Adam.
"I've been told," Adam replied.
"So how have you been though, feels like I haven't see you in forever," Miles said sitting down on the couch as Layla returned her attention to Jenny and Miri.
"Good, just counting down the days until this little guys arrival," Adam said patting his stomach.
"Three more months right?" Miles asked. Adam nodded his head.
"So any names for our grandson yet?" James asked walking into the room. The other three behind him.
"Yes, our are we gonna have to wait like we did for Miri," Kendall asked. The four took a seat on the couch as well.
"Actually, we have settled on a name," Cooper said.
"Are you gonna tell us?" James asked a bit impatiently.
"It's up to you Adam," Cooper said looking to the brunette.
"Ok now I've put a lot of thought into this and my minds made up," Adam said.
"We not gonna try and change your mind," James said.
"We've decided on Kendall James," Adam said quickly. James' brows lifted in shocked before he smiled.
"I like it," Kendall said grinning.
"Me too," James said slowly.
"Really?" Adam asked eyeing James suspiciously.
"It's your decision, if it were me I put James first, that's all I'm saying," James said smiling. Everyone laughed at that.
The atmosphere was light and filled with baby talk after that. Nobody seemed to notice the missing two. It was nice to have the family together and actually be civil. No one was arguing, no one was yelling, and there were no secrets. Everything just felt normal for once.
Boom! Another chapter done. Jake told Damien and he's happy. Did any of you doubt him? Will their families be happy? Adam and Cooper picked a name, yay! Jared's unsure what to do about his parents. Should he listen to Kyle? Or Deanna? Kyle almost kissed Lilly! Would be cheat on Jared? What does this mean for Lilly's unresolved feelings? Will she ever move on? Will Logan have to kill Kyle? Jace apologized, does he deserve Noah's forgiveness?
So I am super excited how quickly I got this done. I hope you guys enjoy this. I've just been on a roll with this chapter and surprised how quickly it rolled out for me. As always review (or not) and I shall make some more.
