Operation Blank Conspiracy 33
One week later, Trowa and Wufei were halfway across space and successfully integrated into Romefeller's forces. It helped that they had inside help from one of their spies hidden within the company. He'd found them some uniforms that fit along with their special code names for this mission. In his case, he was called Jin Shing. He kept his ponytail tucked underneath the uniform hat and wore a pair of fake glasses. It probably made him look like some kind of nerd but he wasn't there for looks. At least he'd look boring enough to not be focused on.
Trowa had slicked his bangs to the side so it didn't cover his eyes, giving clear view of his emerald greens. He was going with the name Triston John as his undercover name. It had only taken a day to mingling in among the Romefeller forces and blend as if they'd always been a part of them. They didn't stick together and most times ignored each other when in plain sight except by way of text when needed. There were others there that were a part of the Preventers, though not much more than maybe four other people, all in different departments.
Wufei frowned walking around the hallway pausing to give a small salute to an officer that walked by before he continued strolling. He hadn't seen hide or hair of Treize since arriving a day ago. From their inside sources, the negotiations wouldn't happen till the end of the week. Once they found out who was contacting Romefeller, he'd be going with Trowa to meet up with Duo and the others at Sanc Kingdom. In the meantime, he still needed to get his hands on some Fly-Z. The idea had come to him of sneaking his way into Treize's room and stealing the items for himself. Problem was his room was heavily guarded, and probably by the same guards he'd seen at the business party Wufei had escorted Po to meaning they'd most likely recognize him.
Besides, he still had his priority mission of finding out who the meet up person was. They had to be on this ship, right? Or were they still on some shuttle floating outside somewhere in space waiting for the meeting day?
"Jin."
Wufei blinked looking at the man standing in front of him before he frowned and went to attention saluting him. "Sir."
"At ease, soldier." Wufei relaxed himself staring at the man waiting to see what he wanted. All of their information had been updated into the system leaving Wufei, a.k.a. Jin, to have a mother and a sister living somewhere on Earth. It had something about him wanting to join Romefeller to help the cause and make change happen not to mention to support his family. It made him sound more eager than he actually felt. "It seems that Representative Khushrenada wishes to speak with you." The superior soldier looked at him casting a look of suspicion on him. "You didn't do something stupid, did you?"
"Besides talk to you, no," Wufei said under his breath lowly before he spoke up louder for the man to hear, looking up at him with bored eyes. "No sir. I've been on good behavior, sir."
"Good." He knew this guy didn't trust him, hadn't been won over completely like the rest of the soldiers Wufei had met. It wasn't going to be easy to hide much from him. "Make sure to report back to me once you're done. I have some more work for you to do since you seem to want to wander around."
"Yes sir." Wufei said ignoring how the male looked him over before walking past him. He felt like cursing, hating how his slimmer, more youthful body made him seem like he was a chump. Trowa at least got lucky enough to get some nice sized muscles. That wasn't to say that Wufei didn't have any muscles, he looked stronger when he had his arms out to show off his arm muscles. But right now with this full uniform on and this small compact body, he looked like a kid trying to play adult baseball. He must have really looked like some kind of rookie to the other soldiers.
It didn't take long for him to get to Treize's room seeing as he'd been on his way there to scope out his chances. Looks like he didn't have to worry about that now. He sighed as he thought about the fact that Treize must have figured out who he was. Why else would he call Wufei there to see him? Not like he'd just randomly picked someone to come see him out of the blue.
"I'm here to see the Representative." The two guards standing in front of the door glanced to each other before one of them spoke up.
"State your name please."
"…Jin Shing." They looked at each other again and Wufei swore he raised a brow at the exchange. Something was up, he just couldn't figure out what it was or why the two were looking at him with sympathetic eyes. "Is there something I need to know about?"
"No!" It came from the one that had spoken just moments ago. "Nothing at all." They stepped away from each other giving free reign to the doors, so tall and broad shouldered they looked like two tanks standing guard. No way did he feel like fighting them. "Please, go right inside. Representative Khushrenada is waiting there for you."
There was some hesitation on Wufei's part, though from the reaction of the two males it wasn't misguided. He might have been falling for a trap by going inside completely unprepared. But it wasn't like he had much choice. If he didn't go, he'd look suspicious. Besides, Treize knew he was coming and he really did need the Fly-Z and some answers about who Treize was negotiating with over the Gundamium alloy.
He didn't bother to knock as he walked up to the door opening it. Sliding inside he closed it behind him and locked it before he turned looking around the room. Like he'd expected, it wasn't a small room looking three times the size of his own room back at Preventer HQ. The bed seemed to be king size and far larger than what a single person sleeping in it would need. Sheets of red satin covered the bed in its soft silky looks making Wufei envy the man who got to enjoy such comfort. Off to the side there was a closed door which he assumed was the bathroom. And seeing how he didn't see Treize anywhere else, he assumed the man was inside.
It gave him the perfect opportunity to snoop around and do some investigating of his own. Drawers were checked as quietly and efficiently as he could manage. He could hear the water running in the bathroom and blushed trying not to let the mental image of the man washing himself fill his head. He took the time to check under the bed, check under pillows, and even checked the pockets of the discarded clothes on the floor by the bed.
Rose petals had been scattered across the bed. Treize must have really liked roses. He remembered vaguely seeing Treize wear one while they were at the party before. It seemed unbecoming for a person who worked for Romefeller and only served to show how vain the man was to feel he needed to waste such beautiful flowers on himself.
"Ah, you must be Jin Shing." Wufei jumped slightly turning around to see the Representative leaning against the doorframe of the bathroom staring at him. He had a smirk on his face. His body was covered in nothing more than a bathroom that was, thankfully, closed to hide what lay beneath. It made Wufei's eye twitch in frustration wondering why the man felt the need to take a shower knowing he had a guest coming. "You're just as small as they said you were."
His glasses starting to fog up thanks to the steam coming out of the bathroom, but he didn't offer up a response. What, did he use scalding hot water or something? Well it wasn't like Wufei wanted to see his old, hairy legs anyway. Instead he offered up a small salute, keeping his mouth shut. It seemed like Treize didn't recognize him yet. He could use this to his advantage to catch him off guard. But…what was he doing calling a new recruit to his office while he was almost in the buff? Had he no sense of dignity?
"You're a quiet one, I see." Treize chuckled walking over to the bed, a smoggy outline in Wufei's eyes. He stopped by his nightstand, pouring some liquid into two glasses before he started walking towards Wufei again. Even seeing his enemy coming towards him, it was just like the time in the restroom where Treize just had that way of not feeling like a threat. "Care for a drink?"
"No." It was reflex to answer and Wufei cursed at giving himself away when he saw Treize tense in front of him for a moment. But he relaxed again before he sat the drink down on the nearby table chuckling.
"You need to learn to relax, Jin," Treize said. The fog on Wufei's glasses finally started to clear before he saw the icy blue eyes staring into his own ebony ones. There was a knowing smirk on Treize's lips as he stared at Wufei but he didn't say anything to admit to knowing who he was. Instead he moved walking over to the bed and sitting before he crossed his legs taking a sip of the wine in his glass. If there was one thing that Wufei learned about in that single move, it was that Treize was actually the type of person to shave his legs. And because of that, it forced Wufei's eyes to follow the line of muscles despite the attempt to look away. Damn this man for having even an ounce of attractiveness about him.
"Come have a seat with me."
"I'm fine right here, thank you," Wufei said quickly, cutting his eyes away from him and looking around. "This is an…interesting place you have here." His eyes took into account other places the Fly-Z could be hidden at. So far he was having very little luck in finding anything.
"Ah, you like it?" Treize seemed to perk up at those words, his eyes washing over Wufei's form sending a shiver through the younger body. "The vases were handmade by some of the top potters on Earth. The pictures painted by the best painters ever seen since Michelangelo and others of his time." He rubbed his fingers against the silk sheets beneath his hand. "These are made of the best silk that can be offered." His eyes cut over to Wufei again and something in his eyes covered Wufei in a cold sweat. "You should try it out."
"What did you call me here for?" Wufei said ignoring the suggestion and throwing away the formalities. It was obvious this was no longer about soldier and leader.
"It's my responsibility to greet the new recruits and check on their progress," Treize said swirling the wine around in the glass, his eyes not leaving Wufei's for a second. "So far I hear you've been doing pretty well. Though you seem to be drawing a lot of attention to yourself." The hungry look that appeared in Treize's eyes made the young Preventer step back. "I can see why."
"So you're just a big pervert who gets off on seeing the new recruits while sitting there in your bathrobe."
"There's no reason to act like that, .Ku." Wufei tensed up more from the way Treize said his code name than to the fact that Treize knew who he was. The knowing smirk was on his lips again as he took another sip of the red wine. "You know my interest only lies with you."
Wufei's face heated up before he could stop it and he turned to the dresser to both hide his face from Treize and to continue scoping out the area. "When does the meeting start for your little negotiations?" Wufei asked finally getting himself together before he turned around looking at Treize again. "Who are you negotiating with?"
Treize stared at him for a moment before a guffaw escaped from his lips. Wufei found himself staring at the older male, his eyes slightly wide with amazement. Could such a sound even come from a human being like this? But it sounded so…fitting. He found he liked the sound…then hated himself for admitting to that. But the laugh quieted down to a chuckle before Treize looked at him, a light dancing in his eyes. "You know I don't give things away for free."
Wufei shifted slightly, his eyes darting away for a second before looking at Treize again, his lips tight with indifference even though his eyes showed suspicion. "…What is the bargaining tool then? For the information and for more of the Fly-Z."
"Hmm…" It was a quiet hum, the rest of the wine being drained before Treize moved, standing from the bed and walking in his direction. Wufei tensed up seeing the male coming close, his back pressing up against the dresser in an attempt to escape. He felt his body freeze when Treize stood in front of him, almost pressing up against him. It made him regret ever asking for Treize's term of agreement. When Treize reached up, Wufei felt his heart speed up in his chest, his eyes clenching shut. There was a clang behind him of the glass being placed down on the dresser and when nothing else happened, he willed his eyes to peek open finding the amazingly warm blue ones staring down at him.
"Time," Treize said, smirking as he drew himself back to stand in front of him properly. "All I request is your time spent with me."
"…Time…" Wufei frowned. "And what exactly do you expect me to do with you while wasting my precious time?"
"Whatever your heart desires," Treize said simply, his hand coming up and slipping the glasses from Wufei's face before he even had a chance to register it happening. "But the more time you spend with me, the better opportunity you'll have on finding everything you can possibly need to know about my plans." He grinned at Wufei stepping back and slipping the glasses on his own face looking appropriately far more sophisticated than he already did. "Now then…Jin." He said the name even with the smirk on his lips. "How would you like to join me as my personal body guard?"
Wufei frowned. Having to be this close to Treize all the time and protect him even though he really wanted to kill him? He had no choice in the matter. Not only did he need the information for the Preventers, but there was no stopping Treize from telling everyone on that ship that he was a spy. He'd be putting himself and all the other Preventers on board in danger. Even worse, he'd lose out on getting the Fly-Z for Duo, which was the main reason for why he was there in the first place.
But a part of him frowned at the idea of having to stay near Treize for so long. It meant he'd be constantly monitored by his enemy not to mention having to deal with the weird way that Treize seemed to like looking at him. Besides, he honestly didn't know if this was all some kind of trap. But there was still something bothering him though, something he wondered about before Treize had found out who he was.
"What would you have done if it hadn't been me here?" Wufei asked, holding his hand out for his glasses. "What if the person that came here had been just another new recruit?" Instead of the glasses being placed in his hand, Treize leaned forward slipping them on Wufei's face surprising the young Chinese male with the action.
"It's fairly entertaining to see such a jealous side of you."
Wufei stared up at him in shock before he started to sputter. "W-Wha…I…you…s-stop playing games with me!" Wufei brushed past him roughly having the hardest time hiding his embarrassment from the older man. "And don't bother calling me!" He yelled back heading for the door. "I'll call you when I make my decision!"
Treize chuckled, his voice coming out rich with amusement. "Then I'll look forward to hearing from you, Nataku…or should I say Jin Shing?" Wufei tensed up, but he didn't bother to say anything to him in return as he left out slamming the door behind him with a grumble. He didn't even care that the two guards were staring at him or that they had noticed the blushing red of his cheeks. He was not some jealous lover to this man, even if his frustration grew the more he thought about the older male doing something to these new, attractive, recruits. This was not how he meant to meet up with this man. But he knew he'd call him later, would agree to the terms if only for Duo's sake. Then hopefully this mission would end quickly and he'd be on his way with Trowa to meet the others. He only hoped that Trowa was doing better than he was right now.

"You're doing well, Duo!" Quatre said into his screen watching the way Deathscythe was flying though the emptiness of space with little effort at all too destroy his targets. The gundam was amazing having a built in cloaking device that seemed to hide Duo's presence until the very last minute. It was fluid, quick and seemed almost agile compared to his gundam.
But Quatre had no complaints against Sandrock, his fingers gently caressing the controls as if petting a special pet. Sandrock had its perks too and was literally the best mobile suit Quatre had ever had the honor of handling. He didn't see it as a tool, more like a companion that worked together with him to help the world reach the goal of peace. He wouldn't trade it for any other gundam and made sure to be a part of the maintenance done on it when he could. All of them tended to get like that with their gundams. He was sure Duo would be the same way.
They only had a day left to get everything in order before heading to Sanc Kingdom. Duo had improved a lot since these two weeks, moving like he'd been born to pilot a gundam. In fact, it'd gotten to a point that it usually took Quatre or Heero to coax him into taking a break away from the mechanical beast. But like he said, he couldn't blame him. They all tended to grow a deep connection to the gundams once they piloted them. And vice versa it seemed as Sandrock seemed to beep in response.
There was still a mystery that floated around the gundams. How it seemed that they were living beings even though they were made of nothing more than special metal and wiring. But the only ones that ever seemed to really notice this were the gundam pilots themselves. Granted they never talked to anyone else outside their little circle about it. Let other people know it and they'd just think they were a bunch of crazy kids or something. Granted he was just barely an adult himself at the age of 18. Out of the five of them, Trowa was the oldest being 19 now.
The thought of the other male put a blush on Quatre's face. He wanted to see him again, hated the fact that he had to go on a mission so soon after just coming back from one. But then that was what their job demanded. He was happy enough with the fact that Trowa felt the same way about him. Their night together had been wonderful, if a little too quick for his taste. It'd seemed like they'd only just fallen asleep together before Trowa was up and moving to go on his mission with Duo.
At least that time he was able to maintain contact with Trowa. This time he was completely separated from the man and would be lucky if he received a text from him considering that he was undercover at the moment. He hoped with everything in him that Trowa would come back safe. There was never a guarantee when a job required undercover work. Especially in such a large base of operations where everyone was an enemy but a select few. And even they would have to turn their guns on you to keep their cover from being blown. It was a stressful job that not everyone could handle.
"Duo, let's head back. We still need to have our final briefings with the colonels and get everything ready for tomorrow."
"Aww come on, Quat." The pouting face popped up on one of Quatre's side screens reminding him of a four year old that didn't want to leave the park. It was cute and was probably the reason why Heero sent Quatre with him today instead of going himself. Duo had a way of coaxing Heero into giving him more time. By the time any of them would realize it, another hour would have passed. Today wasn't one of those days to be going past the time limit, granted that Duo seemed to be able to handle it pretty well mentally. Still, they needed a break, not to mention Quatre felt like his back could use it.
"Duo, we have a lot we have to get ready by tomorrow. You should really rest while you can otherwise you'll be too tired to move when something important really does happen."
Duo just frowned at him before he cut off the monitor, though his whining voice still reached out through the mic. "You're a spoiled sport, you know that Quat?" He wasn't sure when Duo had started calling him that but he found it wasn't too bad, just a short cut to saying his whole name. When he'd asked Duo about it, he said it was because he was one of his friends. He was working on making up names for the others, though he said the one he came up with for Wufei was a no go because he "had a stick stuck too far up his ass" to appreciate his affections. It made Quatre laugh to hear it while mentally feeling sorry for Wufei and whatever name Duo came up with. Guess anything would be better than Wuffie.
"So we go to see this queen lady tomorrow, right?" Quatre started heading for HQ while he listened to the question.
"Queen Relena. She's the reason the Preventers were created in the first place. We help prevent wars from starting by stopping the fires before they ignite." Quatre typed something on his keyboard pulling up the history behind Relena and Sanc Kingdom before sending it to Duo. He knew the history all too well, being he was one of the founders behind the creation of the Preventers. It wasn't common knowledge though, seeing as only the other elitists, the gundam creators, and the colonels were the only ones that knew about it.
"Queen Relena, huh?" He could tell the other was reading the information sent to him, could imagine the eyes skimming over the words and processing them without a second thought to what it all meant. "So you guys have a nice history with her huh?"
"It's always been one of our duties to protect the royal family," Quatre said smiling. "And since she lost her brother not too long ago, security has gone up a lot higher around her. I'm sure she's going through a lot with having to be queen of a nation."
"…Exactly how old is she?"
"She's turning 18."
"Whoa serious?" Duo laughed at that. "Wow, so she's the same age as us then."
"Everyone but Trowa. He's 19."
"He's that old?!" The shocked face popped up on Quatre's screen again and he couldn't help the burst of laughter escaping from his form.
"Duo, you act like he's 90 years old!"
"Well he might as well be!" Duo said puffing his cheeks out. "He acts like he's an old man sometimes. And you act like you're his old honey bunny or something."
"Duo!"
Deathscythe flew past him heading for the docking station before he had a chance to reply.
"Better hurry, Quat, or you'll be left behind in my dust." He was gone, just like that and Quatre shook his head before he started up following after him.
TBC…
I really enjoyed this chapter...maybe a little too much at Wufei's expense. XD So I'm hoping you all enjoyed it as well.
