They hadn't realized how accustomed they had been to Nero staying in the shop until he was gone. The couple still found themselves trying to stay quiet while they were upstairs moving around.

Not that they had tip toed around him but it had been a mutual agreement not to broadcast the fact that they were together, no need to rub salt in the wound.

Nero had come by and grabbed the two bags of clothing that he had. He seemed happy, as f a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. Patty wasn't with him and Nero didn't mention her.

Kyrie was tempted to ask out of curiosity but decided against it, whatever had occurred the night before Nero would have told her if he wanted to, if even anything had in fact happened.

Dante was certain of it. He hinted at it heavily and teased him mercilessly even though Nero seemed to take it in stride brushing off most of it. It only strengthened the elder hunters convictions.

Girls night out was at the usual spot with Kyrie sitting in her seat at their table and Trish sitting next to Lady. Next to Kyrie sat Patty.

It was evident that the three women had known each other a long time the way they chatted about past instances and shared some inside jokes that Kyrie didn't get. She didn't mind however, they were all catching up, the same way she had done with Nero.

"So Nero's staying with you Patty?" Lady asked taking a long sip of her beer.

"Yup." She replied shifting in her seat somewhat as if she were readying herself for something.

"And he's staying with you..." Lady fished out.

"It was awkward having him at the shop so Patty suggested that he stay with her for now." Kyrie offered.

"That's to bad. I thought you were all playing nice." Trish stated with a frown.

"Just with our history together and all." She replied deciding to stop while she was ahead. Patty gave a nod and a smirk.

"Yup that's what happened." She said. Lady and Trish cast a side glance to each other and smirked knowingly.

"Well sorry to cut this short ladies but we actually have a job." Trish said.

"Later." Lady waved pounding the rest of her drink down before exiting. Patty and Kyrie sat in amicable silence listening to the music and sipping their drinks.

"Thanks for redirecting them." Patty said. "Even though I know it doesn't matter with them. They know something's up."

"You're welcome." Kyrie smiled. "It's no problem."

"I mean it's not like I care what they think, it's just not anyone's business." Patty stated.

"I have to ask, and you don't have to answer, are you and Nero..." She began.

"Fucking?" She asked bluntly. "Yes we are."

"Good, that's good." Kyrie said

"Is it really?" Patty pried.

"Why wouldn't it be?" Kyrie wondered receiving a shrug from the other woman.

"He told me a little bit about how you were together and how your relationship ended." Patty said. "Personally I don't know if I'd be alright having a drink with the woman your ex is screwing."

"I want Nero to be happy." Kyrie said. "I moved on and I want the same for him. So, thank you for helping him with that."

"So how serious is it between you and Dante?" Patty asked curiously.

"We're together. We're pretty serious. We've talked about...things...long term plans and such." She replied.

"Really? Wow. You must be special." Patty said.

"Why do you say that?" Kyrie questioned. "I mean Dante's had girl friends before, hasn't he?"

"I've known Dante for years and I can tell you that I have never seen him with a steady girl friend." She said. "The only girls he would bring around were girls that were one hit chicks."

"One hit chicks?" Kyrie quoted back.

"Yeah you know, prostitutes." She stated as if it were obvious.

"But why? Why hasn't he ever had anyone?" Kyrie asked aloud more to herself. She felt perplexed and slightly confused. Dante had said he had had girl friends, not that he had gloated or went into detail.

"I don't know. Maybe to do with the fact that he has demons and devils who would give anything to hurt him." Patty replied. "If he had someone, a family if you will, then I don't even want to think about what could happen."

Kyrie remained quiet staring at the table. She swallowed hard before sighing. She had to get home. Dante was probably waiting up for her at his desk like he usually did.

"I'm going to head out." Kyrie said standing up.

"I'll walk out with you." Patty replied. "It was nice talking with you Kyrie."

"Yeah it was nice to finally have some time to get to know each other." She said. "I'll see you around."

"Yup, see ya." Patty mirrored a wave as they went their separate ways down the street.

Kyrie took a deep breath as she walked back to the office. She couldn't believe that Dante had never been in a relationship before.

She remembered him telling her how he had loved people but had never been in love. She could recall him saying that he had lusted after people but never loved them.

Kyrie wrapped her arms around her torso feeling the pin prick of tears start at the edges of her eyes. She had spent a year alone and it had nearly driven her to the point of bitterness and a hardened heart, how long had Dante been alone for?

'He said that he bought the shop when he was a teenager so I know that he's at least been in one place since. If Dante is fifty then that's over thirty years.' Kyrie thought to herself. 'Before that I have no idea if he had anyone. I know his parents died and Vergil vanished but when?'

Kyrie robotically walked up the steps to the shop barely noticing the tears that now ran down her face. She walked over to the large desk to stand in front of it. Dante sat back with a magazine in one hand and a slice of pizza in the other, they had compromised that on nights she went out he could order his favorite meal.

"Hey sweetheart." He greeted with out looking past his reading material. "Have a good time?"

"Dante." She whispered out. He heard the thickness in her voice and dropped the magazine on the desk.

"Hey." He said softly dropping his food in its box to reach a hand out to her. Kyrie walked around the desk walking into his open embrace and sitting on his lap. "What's wrong?"

Kyrie buried her face into the crook of his neck and only shook her head slightly. Dante tightened his hold on her kissing her forehead. She hummed softly enjoying his warmth that enveloped her.

"How long were you alone for?" She asked. Dante groaned despite himself. She sounded like she did when she first came to stay with him.

"I told you before I wasn't alone. I've had Lady and Trish and Patty." He replied.

"Have you ever had a girl friend before me?" She questioned.

"I haven't had anyone I cared about the way I care about you." He said simply.

"Well why not?" She asked.

"I just didn't. Kyrie, baby, what happened?" Dante unwrapped his arms from around her backing her off from him slightly. She bit her lower lip gently and stared at him.

"Patty mentioned that you only ever had um, how did she put it, oh...one hit chicks." She stated.

"Oh for fucks sake." Dante muttered under his breath and sighed. "So tell me, what else did Ms. Patty have to say?"

"That was it." Kyrie said. Dante closed his eyes and set his jaw taking deep breaths. "Was it true Dante?"

"Yeah. It's true." He replied reopening his eyes. "Disappointed?"

"No. Why would I be?" She asked. Dante just shrugged. Kyrie rested her head against his neck again laying a soft kiss against his skin.

She trailed her lips along his jaw to reach his lips. Dante reciprocated hungrily taking her lips with his. He wound his arms around her rubbing circles on her back.

Kyrie had her arms around his neck running her fingernails against his flesh. Dante broke the kiss for a moment taking in her flushed cheeks and kiss swollen lips.

"I love you Dante." She said softly causing him to smirk.
