"The hell?!" He demanded drawing out Ivory at the figure on the ground. "Nevan release her!"
"Master, she attacked your mate." Nevan stated listening to Dante calling her bats back to her. "She has been injured."
Dante glanced over to where Kyrie sat huddled over on the floor sobbing and clutching her stomach. His heart beat wildly in panic as he strode over to her.
"Kyrie..." He said picking her up gingerly. "Nevan move that devils ass to the couch, don't let her leave."
"Gladly sugar." She said as Dante rushed Kyrie upstairs to their bedroom. She was near hysterical as he placed her on their bed.
"Calm down baby, getting worked up is only going to make it worse." He soothed unbuttoning her pants and lifting up her shirt to expose her stomach.
The bruise had already begun to form on her pale skin marring it an angry dark purple almost to the point of being black.
Dante placed his hand against her stomach and an ear listening intently. He reached his energy out receiving his call back weakly but the same as it had been since he had been able to sense his child.
"The baby's okay Kyrie...it's fine, just fine." He said gently moving up towards her face. She had her hands covering herself from him as she hiccuped in an attempt to stop her sobbing.
Dante held his wife close to him and shushed her until she was breathing steadily. He stood up staring at the bruise feeling blood begin to boil, his child could have been killed.
Kyrie was sleeping soundly for now which he surmised was the best thing at the moment. He grabbed the phone from her side of the bed and dialed Lady's number receiving her voice mail.
"Kyrie's been hurt." He said cutting to the chase. "Far as I can tell the baby's fine but I'd still appreciate it if you came out to check on her."
He hung up the phone and stalked down the stairs. Nevan stood in front of the other female with her arms crossed. Dante snapped his fingers as he stood next to her and she reverted back to her devil arm appearance.
"Now." Dante drawled out. "I can tell you didn't come here for a fight...I don't care why you're here, all's I care about is the fact that my wife is hurt."
"I just had to right a wrong that was committed against Kyrie and Nero...the devils in your subjugation sensed my own devil side and reacted. I was only defending myself."
"I take it you're from Fortuna then." Dante stated leaning against his desk.
"Yes." She replied with a nod. "I found out what was going on and I remembered them...I felt awful for the part I played even though at the time I had no idea what was going on."
"Guilty by association then, huh?" He responded. "Well, here are your options...you can either stay and die or walk out that door and never bother any of us again."
The woman nodded her head briskly standing up from the couch quickly.
"I'm sorry that Kyrie was hurt...really I am and I promise son of Sparda, neither of you will see me again." She reassured. She faced towards Dante reaching a hand behind her feeling for the door.
"Hit the road." He said sternly. She stumbled out into the street as Lady entered quickly.
"Who the hell was that?" She asked as if she were out of breath. "Customer?"
"Nope...just some trash to be tossed out." He said leading Lady upstairs. She walked into the room and sat on the bed next to her friend.
"Damn that's ugly." She remarked indicating the bruise.
"No shit." Dante said under his breath.
"It doesn't look like she's bleeding or anything...you said the baby seemed alright?" She questioned placing her sun glasses on the night stand next to her.
"Yeah I could sense it just the same as I've been doing and it responded back to me." He said. Lady felt around Kyrie's stomach pressing down in some places above where the bruising was.
"Man she's really out of it if she's not feeling this." Lady said. "She didn't hit her head did she?"
"Not that I know." Dante replied. "Wasn't here when it happened, I just walked in on it."
"I'm going to recommend bed rest. If she complains of any pain like cramping or she starts bleeding let me know." She stated standing. Dante gave a nod as Lady brushed past him. "Don't worry dad...your baby's fine and so is your girl. When I was feeling around I could feel it moving...kids all over the place just some like some other kid I used to know."
"Yeah?" He asked smirking proudly.
"If anything..." She said.
"I'll call." Dante replied. Once he heard the shop doors close Dante laid next to Kyrie and pressed his fingers onto her stomach similarly to the way he saw Lady do it.
He moved his prodding until he did feel something moving deep with in her. He laid his head against her stomach and called out to his child receiving the comforting reassurance of his message being sent back to him only the way a blood relative of his could.
"I love you." He said softly kissing at the spot where he had felt the baby moving. "And I can't wait to meet you."
