Yugi's POV

I watched in worry as Yami was attacked with those fireballs. Jonouchi laughed darkly. "You will die pharaoh…you know that for a fact so I hope you enjoyed your time here because it is back into the puzzle for you."

"Jonouchi…can't you feel it? You heart…doesn't it hurt?" Jonouchi gave a blank stare at Yami's comment. "A heart? I don't have a heart! Just like how you don't have memories!" I could sense Yami's pain. This was too much even for him. "Yami."

"Yugi…What is wrong?" I contemplated how to word my thoughts. "You're hurt...and I want to take some of that pain away from you."

"Yugi I know what you are thinking and if I let you take over in such a dangerous duel…I couldn't live with the thought of you getting hurt or worse…"

"Yami you need to let me duel…I think I can get through to Jonouchi. Beside…Jonouchi helped me in so many ways…and saved us." Yami closed his eyes. "Yugi…"

"Let me finish….I know if it wasn't for you I wouldn't have Jonouchi as a friend."

"Now that isn't true Yugi…that was you who made that wish come true…not me." I turned red then sighed. "I want to believe you but…part of me just feels like I use you as a crutch…so please let me take over Yami…besides you've been dueling all day and you need to sit this one out." Yami frowned but then gave me the most serious look he has ever given me. "Yugi…get Jonouchi back. But the moment it gets too dangerous I will drag your ass back into the puzzle and take your place." I nodded. I know Yami is worried but I needed to do this. "I got it Yami."

"Good…just don't die Yugi…promise me you won't die on me." I nodded and took over. "Marik I will be your opponent for the rest of the duel."

"WHAT!? NO BRING THE PHARAOH BACK OUT! THIS IS BETWEEN HIM AND ME!"

"AND IF YOU WANT TO GET TO THE PHARAOH YOU'LL HAVE TO GO THROUGH ME MARIK! NOW I WILL DUEL AND YOU WILL LET JONOUCHI GO!" Jonouchi smirked. "Fine by me. If I just beat you up the pharaoh will have to switch with you to protect you." I frowned. I could feel Yami's worry. He's tense right now but I can't let him take over. I drew, then I had an idea.

Honda's POV

Serenity, Otogi, and I made it to domino city and I tried to call Anzu to find out where they were at but there was no luck. "Damn where could they be at?"

"Aw don't worry we'll find them sooner or later."

"I know…but I have a weird feeling." We started to walk across the street when a blue car screeched to a halt. "HEY WATCH OUT NEX…" the driver was all too familiar. "Honda?"

"Mai!?" Mai frowned. "What are you guys doing?"

"We're trying to look for Jonouchi. You see this is…" Mai smirked. "Serenity isn't it? Hop in guys. I'll help you out." Serenity blushed. "How do you know about me?" Mai smiled. "Your brother told me about you in the last tournament. I just had to help." I was relived, this would make finding the gang easier to find.

Yugi's POV

"Hmm." I hummed. If I used this card then Jonouchi will have to snap out of Marik's trance. I was ready to summon Red eyes black dragon but Yami stopped me. "Yugi wait…we have to be careful with how we play this."

"Your right…" then I looked at one of the other cards I had. "Yami you trust me right?"

"Of course why…."

"Because I might have a way to show Jonouchi Red eyes and not summon him yet. It's risky but I can't have you panic and take over." Yami nodded and murmured under his breath. "I play the card Card exchanged." I felt Yami panic but he fought his urge to take over. Good he trusts me. "What? Really little runt…you must be desperate."

"Well then come and see my hand then…Jonouchi." Jonouchi walked over and smirked. "Show me your hand runt." I looked away and shut my eyes. Please…Please Jonouchi…break free. I peeked and was shocked. "It…my…Red eyes…." I could see Jonouchi fighting against Marik. "Rak…I…I take this card!"

"It's working…Yugi you plan is working." Yami gasped. I looked and in Jonouchi's hand was Card destruction. I smiled. "Jonouchi! I know you're in there. Just keep fighting." Jonouchi gave a nasty look. "Jonouchi isn't here."

"No…I know he is in there and I will use Red eyes to prove it. I sacrifice two monsters to summon Red Eyes black Dragon!" then at the sight of his dragon. Jonouchi was breaking through. "Ahk! Y…Yugi…Help." Jonouchi shook his head and looked back up. He was slowly breaking through. "Come on Jonouchi…try to remember! the duels we went through! Come on Jonouchi I know you remember!"

"SHUT UP! SHUT UP SHUT UP SHUT UP!" I knew what I had to do "Sorry Jonouchi…but I'm going to have to knock some sense back into you…so…" I felt tears stinging my eyes. "Red eyes…attack alligator swords!"

Yugi Motou: 1500

Possessed Jonouchi: 2400

The attack knocked Jonouchi off his feet. He struggled to get up on his feet. "Y…Your trick didn't work…Yugi." I frowned. I felt Yami trying to take over. "Sorry Yami…" I took the puzzle off and shook my head. "But this is my fight." I looked over and saw Yami's spirit. "Yugi…it's too dangerous…please don't…"

"Yami I need to finish this duel. When I solved the millennium puzzle, I wished for friends. Then when we met in my heart, You gave me courage and friends but….I feel like if it wasn't for you giving me that courage…I would still be a coward." Yami slumped down onto his knees shaking his head. "That isn't true Yugi…You did that on your own…I know you did that on your own…"

"Thank you Yami. But I need to prove that to myself, and getting Jonouchi back will do that." Yami looked up at me with a sad look then got up and placed a hand on my shoulders. "If you are determine to do this…then I will respect your wishes and stay out of this. I just don't want anyone to die…" Yami took a deep breath. "Good Luck Yugi."

"Thanks Yami…just wait for me." With that Yami faded into the puzzle.
