Chapter XX: A Heavenly Reunion
Inuhime was feeling a little fatigue after confronting her mother. The tension was unbearable. She decided to go into another meditation. She sat, in front of the bed, with a pillow underneath her on the floor. She breathed in, then out. She repeated it several times before starting her mantra. She recited her manta and repeated it until she found herself in a beautiful temple. The temple adorned with hues of green, red. and many other colors. In the courtyard, there was a water garden filled with pink and white lotuses. There was also koi in the water. She heard water falling sound which obviously came from a huge waterfall nearby. The wind was gentle and soothing. It was heavenly. She could feel all kinds of positive emotions everywhere. Suddenly she heard a familiar voice coming from behind.
"Inuhime?"
She slowly turned around. A man stood with all his glory, smiling. That man was...
"Father?Is that you?"
He laughed and then said, "Yes, it's me, my daughter."
Inuhime suddenly was overflowing with tears. She ran towards him then she glomp her father on the ground like she done when she was a pup.
He began, "Daughter, what ails you? You've been depressed, yet at times happy. Tell me, my pup, what's going on?"
She knew that he already knows everythings, but she needed that father/daughter connection and he knew it, too.
"Well, the Tetsusaiga has been stolen. Inuyasha died afterward. Then a horde of demons attack Kagome and I. Both times Sesshomaru wasn't there, but only in time, before it get too dire."
"Who's this Kagome?" Secretly he knew who she was, but wanted to ask regardless.
"She's my twin's mate-to-be."
He nodded and said, "I had known this all along."
"What?! You'd known all along!"
He nodded. Then she said with a pout, "I should'd known."
He chuckled and said, "I have a surprise. Inuyasha, since when had you been shy? Come out and meet your sister again."
"Feh, I am not shy, old man," Inuyasha said as if he was annoyed.
Inuhime giggled as she wrapped her arms around Inuyasha. He hugged her in return.
"Why is it that you, two, are here?"
Inuyasha said, "Look, sis. You were the one that came here. We didn't go anywhere."
She look confused. Their father said, "Inuhime, you are in the spirit world."
"What?! How?"
"I guess you are still seeking guidance from the Kami. Your inner being is tired of waiting," said the Great Inu no Taisho.
"Tell me, first, though. How's Kagome? Is that ice bastard taking care of Kagome?"
"Yes, he is, Inuyasha. Why are you questioning that?"
"Well, he's taking his sweet ass time mating her. I knew how that ice prick felt about Kagome. Every time I confronted him about it before I passed on that he loved Kagome. He would deny it."
"Inuyasha, you know Sesshomaru. He never spoke about his feelings to anyone," their father respond and then continued, "well the only person who truly knows is his twin sister. Right, Inuhime?"
"True, only through empathy, though. I had to be near him. However, I do know that he, in fact, does love Kagome. She had returned his feelings. He puts actions into his words. Kagome knows that. Maybe she could break that shell of his."
Inuyasha laughed happily and said, "Yeah, she has a way of doing that. She was my best friend, then..." He trailed off.
Inuhime lifted her eyebrow, "Then what, Inuyasha?"
"Feh, its none of your concern, sis."
"Like hell it isn't. Tell me Inuyasha before I cast that spell, what you like so much in life."
"Feh, like you can. Kagome was the only one that could. Besides, I don't have those stupid beats any..."
The Great White Dog interrupted him, "Son, if I were you, I would give her the information that she's seeking."
"Feh..." SLAMMED!
She yelled the command with her figure point down as if telling a pet dog to sit.
Their father chuckled and said, "Not to say I didn't warn you, son."
Inuyasha said as he was spitting floor tiles and dirt from his month, "Yeah, yeah, whatever."
She walked to the crater and said, "I bet your wondering, how? Well, I tell you. I, too, for some reason, have a bond towards Kagome. I know when she's sad, angry, happy, and much much more. I was able to see her in her birth era...when she was born, growing up on the shrine grounds until she reached 15 yrs of age. In the time between she arrived in our era and your victory of the battle against Naraka, I wasn't able to sense her. Again afterward, suddenly, I could sensed her again."
Inuyasha jumped out of his crater and dusted his hakama and his haori. He, then, put his hands in his sleeves.
Inuhime said threatenly, "Inuyasha tell me or I'll give you another demonstation."
"Fine. I tell you, but you probably be surprised afterwards...*there was a long pause*...she and I never mated after our marriage ceremony. We were married ritually, but not...well you know."
"Why was that?"
"Because of what happened between Kikyo and I. We get into arguements, but not to say that we didn't had any happy moments. We had, but it was often. I kept my feelings for her inside, but I tried to show through my actions...*he laughed*...I guess some of those actions weren't good, huh? Anyways, we decide to wait for a year and a half to be mated. We also wanted to know one another. So, I guess, you can say that we were courting during that time. It had been only a year before I passed."
Inuhime nodded and responded, "I see. Well, my brother, things happen for a reason. Fate always had a funny way of doing things, whether we like it or not."
They both nodded.
Inu no Taisho said, "Well, come on, Inuyasha, lets go see the mother goddess. I'd been told that Inuhime would come to seek answers from the mother goddess, herself, not some lesser god. Now, I believe that she's now ready to answer your unanswered questions, Inuhime."
"Then why are you, two, are, here for that, too? Are you here for comfort and support?"
Inu no Taisho and Inuyasha shrugged as they don't, indeed, know why they had to be there. All they knew that they had to be there.
They walked towards the temple of the mother goddess.
