Summ.
Axel didn't care that his older brother was dating a guy. Until he fell in love with the boyfriend's son. They're engaged to be married, but will the young lovers stand up for their relationship? I mean it's not REALLY incest!

It is written in first person, chapters switching viewpoints from Axel to Roxas. Axel for odd numbered chapters, Roxas for even numbered chapters.

Everything blurred together. The officers prying me off of my brother, the EMT cleaning the blood from my hands and face, the sting of the peroxide on the gash on my cheek, everything felt like one hazy blur.

The white walls of the hospital were lined with abstract art every other doorway to make the waiting area seem more inviting. I sat on an uncomfortable bench, trying to wrap my head around everything but failing. My mind kept wandering back to Roxas, to Cloud. Every time the door opened, my head would shoot up out of my daze in hopes one of them would be standing there to tell me everything was a dream, it's all over now, we can go home.

A door did open, with the older blonde walking towards me. "Axel? How are you holding up?" Cloud's voice was full of concern, and I saw him visibly wince as he eyed the bandaging on my face.

"Where's Reno?"

Cloud flinched at the sudden question, eyes welling up with tears. "He's…" he looked at me with pleading eyes. I paused.

"I'm sorry. I just… I need to know where he is."

Cloud nodded with understanding, a frown forming on his face. Nervously, Cloud walked over and sat beside me, heaving a deep sigh, preparing himself for the words. "Reno… he's being attended to in another part of the hospital, then he'll be interviewed by the police. Axel… you did… you did a serious number on him…"

"I… I what?"

He shifted uncomfortably. "When we got to the apartment… I couldn't hold you back. I tried but when you saw him on top of my son you lost it… all I could do was watch and hold Roxas… I… I don't think he saw anything…" Cloud made uneasy eye contact to see how I was reacting.

I wasn't sure how. I didn't remember any of it. My hand reached up to touch the bandages on my cheek, and I saw Cloud flinch away when my hand moved. "I… I hurt… I hurt Reno?"

"He fought back for awhile, but… he didn't fight nearly as long as you did…" he seemed wary to even be sitting as close to me as he was. "After he cut your face he stopped fighting you, he started apologizing," Cloud's voice was shaking, "he was trying to get you… to stop… but you… didn't…"

As the door opened my foot collided like a heat-seeking missile to Reno's side, sending him rolling off of Roxas. Winded, he used the bedframe to lift himself up, dazed. My steps toward him were not of my own accord, but the next thing in my hands was the collar of his shirt as I slammed him back against the wall, knocking something off of the shelf beside him with the sheer force of impact.

"You… you dared to lay your filthy paws on him again…" each hissed word was met with another slam against the wall. Reno struggled to get me to let go.

"Give it a rest, Ax, let's talk about this," he tried to pry my hands from his shirt and I kneed him. Hard.

"You want to TALK? About what you did to your own fiancee's SON? About what you did to MY Roxas? How about you— Start. Fucking. Talking. Then!" I punched him in the gut between every sentence with a level of force I didn't think I could muster.

Keeling over in pain, Reno reached a hand out to the table beside us and grabbed the nearest object, whipping it into the side of my face and shattering it on my cheek. My hands immediately released him, going up to cup my face that was already spilling blood.

Reno was at my side immediately, his eyes wide in shock. "Oh my god, Axel, are you okay? I'm sorry I didn't mean to—hey!" I shoved him hard enough to knock him to the ground. "Bro, cut it out, let me see your face—Axel!" I pinned him face down, twisting his arm behind his back. "Axel, calm down, I'm sorry!" My bloodied hands continued to pull at this arm, Reno's cries becoming more desperate and pained. "Give me a minu— A—Ax—!" his voice broke into a deafening scream.

"Axel, stop! Stop, please!" Cloud's sobbed cry came from the corner of the room. How could he be defending him, even now?

Someone grabbed me from behind and I struggled. "Let me go!"

"Mr. Corre, this is Officer Johnson of the Sanborne Police. Please hold still. We're trying to help."

I was losing blood fast from all my struggling. My eyes were clouded, I looked toward Roxas, who was in Cloud's arms. He was okay. That's all that mattered.

"Cloud… I… is Reno going to be…" I stumbled over the words as my spotty memory started to piece together the incident more clearly. I didn't know I could be that blinded with rage.

"They said he should be," he still avoided eye contact with me. "He never wanted to hurt you, that much was clear."

I growled. "He obviously didn't care about hurting you after what he did to Roxas…" I hissed my words.

"I… I know," he wiped tears from his eyes. "I'm so sorry, Axel. If… if I'd known about you and Roxas… If I'd just been a better father to him… If I'd listened to my own child when he said Reno was bad news…"

At that despairing tone my anger melted away. I took his hand in mine. "Cloud, it's not your fault… he… he was my own brother and I never would have thought…"

"You… you need help, Axel. You and Roxas both," he squeezed my hand, resolutely looking me in the eyes. "I promise to get you both that help. I'll be better for both of you."

Part of me started to get defensive at this. I was about to snap at him saying I was fine when a cold shudder of realization washed over me. I'd continued to beat down my own brother even after he was unconscious. After he'd given up. I'd been willing to continue until I was certain he would never breathe again. The brother who had raised and nurtured me my entire life. I returned the squeeze of Cloud's hand. "You're right."

Relief melted the apprehension from his face. "Thank you. I promise I'll do everything I can for both of you. I'll be a better father."

"You're a great father, Cloud. When I had nowhere to turn you were there for me. You were so full of despair at having hurt Roxas that you almost claimed your own life. You care so much… I'm so sorry we made it so hard for you."

He smiled softly up at me. "Please… continue to make my son happy. I want nothing more than that. None of us… none of us are in a good place right now, but that can change. I promise."

I nodded. "I… alright."

He gave my hand a brief squeeze. "I'm going to check in with Roxas. Please… hang in there. He needs you."

A long time passed after Cloud left. A few hours, maybe. My legs became numb to match the numbness in my face from the fight that I could hardly recall. I eventually started to doze off in my seat.

"Axel."

Must have imagined it. I found myself dozing off again.

Arms wrapped around my neck. I tensed, my eyes snapping open. Instinctively, my arms clung around the torso of my beautiful Roxas. I held him as close to me as I could, tears welling up in my eyes.

"Roxas… oh god…" I sobbed into his tiny shoulder, and I could feel his body shuddering, my shirt collar dampening with his tears. "Are you going to be okay? Let me look at you…"

I pulled away to look him over. I felt him hesitate, tense as I released him from my embrace. His face was red, eyes raw, cheeks stained with tears. His hair was tousled, messy. I ran my fingers through it, combing away some of the chaos. His bottom lip was split and swollen, residue from a piece of gauze embedded in the cut. My gaze gave his bruises a once-over, settling back on his eyes, so painfully blue.

A sob choked in my throat. It was horribly embarrassing. Tears streamed down my face and I couldn't stop them. I wanted to be strong for him and protect him, but I couldn't bring myself to stop the shaking. "You're so beautiful… I'm so… I'm so happy you're okay…"

The corner of his mouth curved up slightly, his gaze averting from mine in embarrassment. "Axel…"

My hand lightly stroked the side of his face. "I love you."

His eyes darted to the side. I turned my head to see where he had looked. Cloud was in the doorway, watching us. I made eye contact with him, and he shakily held it.

"Roxas," I spoke my lover's name without breaking eye contact with his father, "I love you," my voice steadied and grew clearer each time I repeated the words.

Cloud nodded weakly, finally breaking eye contact with me, his nervous expression melting away. I turned back to Roxas, who was unsure who to look at, his gaze darting between myself and his father, as if he were still not entirely convinced this was real.

"I love you, Roxas."

His eyes met mine. "A-Axel I…"

I cut off his voice with my lips gently pressed to his. It was soft, brief, I could taste the bitter Neosporin from his cut tingling on my own chapped lips. "I love you," my whisper was sincere.

Roxas cupped my face in his small, cold hands. My cheek stung badly and I cringed. "Axel, what happened… you look worse than I do…"

"I… I went to Cloud's and—" I paused, my memories spotty but unpleasant. "I fought with Reno… we took things too far. But… Roxas, you're okay… you're safe now…"

He smiled softly. "Yeah... we… maybe we're going to be okay after all…" Roxas' fingers ran through my hair, a sensation I'd forgotten almost entirely about. "Let's… let's go home."

Cloud walked over and put a hand on my shoulder, and we ventured back to the Strife's house. Roxas gave his father an apprehensive look, to which Cloud just smiled and nodded in reply.

Roxas kissed me, softly and tenderly. "Welcome home, Axel."

Nothing had ever sounded so wonderful.
