THIS IS GOING TO BE THE SECOND TO LAST CHAPTER FOR THIS STORY JUST A LITTLE HEADS UP. THEN, I WILL ATTEMPT TO WRITE A SEQUEL. KEY WORD: ATTEMPT. IF I DO WRITE A SEQUEL I'LL POST IT ON MY PROFILE FOR YOU AND TRY TO GIVE YOU REGULAR UPDATES ABOUT IT.
DISCLAIMER: I DON'T REALLY HAVE TO DO THIS, DO I? I THINK WE'VE ESTABLISHED THAT I DON'T OWN THIS...
Thalia
So, where did I leave off last time... oh, yes. Nico burst into my room, kissing me, and then informing me that we had to talk. My reaction was off. I just stood there, gaping at him. That's right folks, laugh if you dare because Thalia Grace was at a loss for words, go ahead and laugh, I hate to pull the dad card, but remember who my dad is...hospitals are everywhere you know, just saying.
"I-er-um-you-uh-huh?" Was all I could manage.
"We need to talk." He repeated. I regained my ability to move.
And, slapped him across the face, "Yeah I got that."
He rubbed his cheek, "Ok. Ow! Was that absolutely necessary?"
I quirked an eyebrow as I shifted my weight to one leg, tapped my other foot, and crossed my arms over my chest.
"Right. I guess I might have slightly deserved that."
My eyebrow rose higher.
"Ok, so I completely deserved that." He amended. I nodded.
"So what do you want?" I asked. I started cleaning up the space simply because I didn't want to look at him because every time I did it sent this weird feeling down my spine and butterflies fluttered in my stomach.
"We can't talk here, that statue bothers me."
I grumbled under my breath about men being idiots.
"Come on." I grabbed his hand and led him to his cabin.
"Does this make you feel better?"
"Actually, yes." He said.
"You. Are. Unbelievable." I muttered.
Nico started pacing back and forth. He was muttering to himself in Italian which worried me, so I threw a nearby towel at his face. He shot me a glare and came closer to me.
I played innocent, and blinked. I sat on his dresser and swung my feet back and forth, like a five-year old girl.
He sighed, "You annoy me."
"Is that so? I explicitly remember you invading my personal space not even ten minutes ago." I argued.
"That's different-"
"Bull. Complete utter bull." I shook my head.
He just looked at me with his dark eyes and pale skin. And then, the weirdest thing blurted out my mouth.
"This makes you a pedophile." I clamped my hands over my mouth to keep in the laugh.
"What?" I shook my head at him. I dropped my hands and laughed. It felt good to laugh.
"You're weird, but I need to talk to you." He sat on a couch.
"Yeah, you keep saying that." I pointed out.
"Ok. I'm just going to say it so we can get the awkwardness out of the way."
"Say what?" I looked at him from the dresser. He had his arm thrown around the back of the couch, legs planted firmly on the ground, and was picking at a pillow while staring at me steadily.
"I like you, Thalia. Clearly. And," He paused his picking of the pillow and sat forward, his elbows on his knees, "I know you like me, too." Right as I was about to object, he stopped me with, "You kissed me, Thalia. Don't even try to deny that you like me."
My mouth was gaping and I closed it with a snap. I hopped of the dresser and moved so that I was standing directly in front of him. He sat back.
"And, what are you going to do about it?" I leaned forward so my face was inches from his, my hands on his knees. We locked eyes. Black on blue. Sky on Earth.
A challenge.
A test.
Nico stood quickly and gripped my waist lightly. He backed me to a wall.
"Well?" My eyes flitted for the briefest second to his lips and back to his eyes. His grip on my waist tightened. I slid my hands up his arms, over his shoulders, and into his hair. I fingered the soft curls and twirled them around my finger. He shivered and captured my mouth with his. My grip in his hair tightened and we pressed against each other.
I felt the hotness of his breath clash with the coolness of his fingers. Said fingers found their way under my shirt, sending shivers through me as his cool finger traced my skin. My hands traveled down his arms, around his waist, under his shirt, stroking his bare back. He growled and pressed against me even more so that there was no space between us. I was him and he was me. I felt the surprisingly toned planes of his stomach and spread my palms over his chest.
Time was meaningless. I don't know how much time had past before we took gasping breaths as we stopped our little makeout session. His hair was severely messed up, from my hands running through them. My shirt was wrinkled from him gripping it too tight. We looked at each other and came to a silent agreement.
"This never happened." We both said, still slightly breathless. I laughed. Then sat on the couch.
"Wanna watch a movie?" Nico asked still breathing heavily. I shook my head.
"I should head back to my cabin." I told him.
He offered his elbow. I straightened my shirt and hooked my arm through his elbow. He shadow-traveled us to my doorstep. I shivered.
"I hate that." I stated, "Goodnight."
He laughed softly and kissed my cheek. I blushed and giggled.
Yes, you heard it first. Thalia Grace giggled like some sort of preppy schoolgirl. Gods, this is embarrassing.
I walked into my cabin and shut the door. Jason was out on a date with Piper so I didn't have to worry about him wondering where I was.
I stopped. Annabeth was sitting on my sleeping bag with Brandi and Amber standing on either side of her shaking her head. Not good.
"Thalia." She said.
I stayed silent.
"Thalia." She said again.
Still playing mime.
"Thalia." She repeated.
Mute button activated.
"Pinecone face." Something about her voice is off.
Did she just-? Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh!
I gasped and sat upright. I look next to me and I was surprisingly not surprised to see Nico there with a serious case of bedhead. The sun was still not up and...He. Was. Not. Wearing. A. Shirt!
My eyes became the size of basketballs.
"Calm down. Nothing happened. I promise." I relaxed slightly until I realized something.
"How did we," I motioned to show me and him, "end up here." I gestured to the bed and tangled sheets.
He blushed, "We did get a little carried away, but I promise all we did was kiss and stuff."
"Yeah, it's the "and stuff" that I'm worried about." He just wrapped his arms around my stomach and pulled me against him. I could feel how close he was and realized something else. Something I should have already noticed.
"I'm wearing your shirt." I stared blankly at the wall, "How did I end up in your shirt."
He pointed at me, "That was all you."
"What do you mean?" I demanded.
He blushed a deeper scarlet.
Then, it came back to me.
"We should stop." Both of our shirts lay discarded on the ground I was straddling Nico on the couch.
"You're right." He sighed.
"I'm going to the bathroom." I whispered and laughed before walking to the bathroom and shutting the door. I found one of Nico's shirt on the floor and slipped it on.
I walked out and saw Nico laying in the bed. I ran and laid down next to him, propped up on my elbow, my head resting in my hand. I played with a lock of his hair.
He opened his eyes, "Hmmm."
"Hmmm. To you, too." I smiled.
He grabbed me and pulled me across his body so that my head was underneath his chin and our legs were tangled together. We fell asleep like that.
"No freaking way." I smacked him with a pillow, "Why-didn't-you-tell-me-to-stop!" I smacked him again with every word.
A lock of my hair fell into my face and I dropped the pillow.
"I didn't want you to." He murmured.
I sighed, "I'll stay here for the rest of the night, but if anyone asks I got drunk and came here because I thought it was my cabin and you were just being nice for once because you knew I'd hurt you if you weren't, got it?" I stuck my tongue out at him as he saluted me mockingly.
He flicked the hair out of my face and laid back down.
I wrapped my arms around his torso and he wrapped his around my waist.
I felt safe, I realized. Safe and comfortable, and...happy for the first time in who knows how long. I snuggle closer to Nico and listened to the beat of his heart until I fell asleep.
He whispered something in my ear, but I couldn't really understand what he said because I was too tired. Sleep now. Think later.
I love you, Nico.
