Chapter 6- Part Of The Group

Gale POV-

I woke up to a pillow being thrown in my face.

Flailing my arms around and shoving the pillow off me, I quickly sat up in my bed and glared at Finnick. "What the heck man!"

I yawned and wiped the sleep out of my eyes.

Taking a look at my clock, I said to Finnick, "Why exactly did you wake me up at 7:30?"

"Dude! It's first day of classes! We have a half hour till first period!" Finnick exclaimed.

"Crap!" I yelled, throwing off my covers, and leaped across the room to the bathroom.

After quickly brushing my teeth, and combing my hair, I ran back into the room.

I grabbed a pair of pants and a shirt, then took off my pyjamas and changed. Around the room, Peeta and Finnick were also rushing to get their things together.

Once we were all ready, I shoved my feet into my shoes and we rushed to the cafeteria.

When we walked through the doors the room fell so silent, you could hear the crickets chirping a mile away.

Awkward.

Walking up to the food line, everyone parted for us and we went straight to the front for our food.

I grabbed an apple, a couple pancakes and a cup of orange juice before making my way to the table.

A couple minutes later, the room went silent again and Madge walked in the room followed by Katniss, looking her usual self with her hair braided down the side of her head.

Katniss-POV-

Madge walked in the room, and it fell all silent. But then everyone went back to talking again a moment later.

Then I walked in the room and once again, the room fell silent.

Trying to the ignore the awkwardness that was slowly building up in the pit of my stomach, I walked up to Madge and asked, "Why did everyone go silent when I walked in?"

She laughed and gave me a knowing look. "You don't know, do you?"

"Know what?" I replied, cocking my head to the side in curiosity.

"Katniss, you're a Victor!" Madge exclaimed.

"What! No, I'm not!" I protested, shaking my head.

She laughed again and when we reached the table, she said, "Yeah, you are."

The group was just staring at us.

I shook my head again. "Nope," I said, popping the 'p'.

Everyone just looked at us oddly.

"Katniss denies that she is a Victor," Madge explained.

"Of course you are," Glimmer stated, while looking in her mirror and putting her mascara on.

"So is Gale here," Finnick said, slapping Gale's shoulder.

"Fine, whatever," I groaned, shoveling a forkful of pancakes into my mouth.

"Good. It's settled. Katniss and Gale are officially Victors."

My first class was English with Peeta, Annie, and Cato.

We all walked to class together and, just as I was about to walk through the door, I felt a light tap on my shoulder.

I turned around to find…..
