Can their friendship survive the lie Mr Darcy and the superior sisters assertions that Miss Jane feels nothing for Charles? What have the Matlocks to do with anything?

What if Miss Lydia Bennet's elopement to London had ended in a much more tragic way? How would the Bennet family react? How would this affect the relationship between Mr. Darcy and Miss Elizabeth Bennet? This is an AU ending to the novel version of Pride and Prejudice. Bingley returns to Hertfordshire in June, after Darcy confesses all. Darcy retreats to Pemberley. Elizabeth writes a letter to Darcy as an exercise to express her feelings, but it falls, and Bingley finds it and mails it, assuming that was Elizabeth's intent. Darcy is the troubled and handsome scion of a diverse business empire in Western Australia. This is an Elizabeth and Darcy story that mostly only deviates from cannon in that it is set in present day WA. It is also first person from Darcy's point of view. So, old story, new setting, title is a work in progress also. Rating based on the occasional expletive, f-words redacted :)

Before she died, Lady Anne wrote a series of letters to her children. She entrusted them to her sister, but as their contents were counter to Lady Catherine's purposes, she never gave the letters over to the Darcy children. Sixteen years later, Anne de Bourgh finds the letters and gives them to Darcy. Their contents alter Darcy's perspective on life, love, and his family's legacy.

After the Bennets are ruined and left without a father, Mr. Darcy turns up with a proposition for Elizabeth. As disguise is his abhorrence, he decides to explain exactly what he has in mind and wants her to agree to. This story is rated "M" for for frank discussions of sex, past prostitution and interactions. NOW CONTINUED!

Elizabeth decides to give Mr. Darcy a taste of his own medicine by conspiring to help Lady Catherine achieve her objective after confirming his officious interference with her sister through Colonel Fitzwilliam. This story picks up in chapter 33 of Pride and Prejudice while Colonel Fitzwilliam and Lizzy are walking. HEA - Couples stay the same.

Fitzwilliam has to leave for Nottingham to attend to some business, leaving Elizabeth in the company of Georgiana. Boredom soon claws at the Mistress of Pemberley and, ever the independent young lady, she decides to do something about it. Pemberley won't know what hit it, courtesy Elizabeth, Georgiana and Col. Richard.

Due to her family's troubled estate, Elizabeth takes it upon herself to alleviate the Bennet family's financial woes by seeking employment as a governess. With experience and charm working in her favour she is prepared for anything, but life proves to have a little more in store for her when she takes a position caring for Mr Darcy's children.
