After Sesshomaru, Kagome, Rin, Shippo, Inuyasha, and Kikyo arrived in the modern era, Kagome's mother, Aiko, finished making tea and set it on the table. Kagome looked around and noticed that her grandfather or Souta wasn't there.

"Momma, where's grandpa and Souta?"

"Oh, Kagome, Souta had gotten into a fight by some bullies. Normally, I would had gone to the school, but grandpa insisted that he wanted to take care of it. I am guessing that he wanted to get out for awhile."

After the word, 'bullies' left from Aiko's lips, that made Inuyasha's ears perked. "Bullies, huh? Tell me where they are and I showed them a bully."

Kagome hit him on the back of the head. "No, Inuyasha! We aren't here to cause trouble."

Rin looked confused because she'd never heard of a word 'bully' before. "Momma, what's a bully?"

"Rin, a bully is someone who picks on others for no reason. They liked to hurt people physically or emotionally."

"Oh, I hope that Souta, whoever he is, is okay."

Kagome smiled and said that Souta was her brother. That was when Souta and their grandfather came in.

Grandpa yelled after he noticed the demons and threw some sacred sutras at them, "Ah, begone demons! You're not welcome here!"

Sesshomaru looked at his grandfather-in-law, unimpressed by his antics. Kagome rolled her eyes. "Grandpa! How many times did I told you that your sacred sutras don't work?"

"K-Kagome! Oh, it's good to see you." He came and hugged her. He felt a kicking sensation coming from Kagome's stomach. "Kagome, are you expecting?"

Souta said, "Wow, sis, you looked like you will pop pretty soon."

Kagome giggled. "Yes, I heard." Kagome looked at Inuyasha, who cleared his throat. Souta looked at Inuyasha. "Inuyasha! You're alive!" He gave him a hug.

Kagome cleared her throat. "Grandpa. Souta, I want you to meet my husband, Sesshomaru. He's Inuyasha's brother."

Both Sesshomaru and Inuyasha corrected, "Half-brother."

"Whatever. Also meet my adopted children, Rin and Shippo."

"Sis, who's the chick who looks a lot like you?"

"Oh, that's Kikyo, my former past incarnate. Inuyasha's... uh fiancee. So, tell me why you were in a fight?"

Souta sighed, "Sis, they were being... I don't know... jealous, because how great I am doing in sports and in school. It's nothing that I couldn't handle. So, don't worry about it."

"Don't worry about it? Souta, you are my little brother. How could I not worry?"

Grandpa interrupted, "Kagome, he's right. Souta wasn't the one who got hurt. They were. They started it and he finished it. Normally, I wouldn't condone this sort of actions. However, he defended himself."

"Yeah, sis, after our little encounter with the Noh mask, I decided to become a monk, like grandpa. I wanted to also learned how to fight like Inuyasha. So, I took some martial arts."

"Souta, I thought that you didn't want to take over the shrine."

"At first, I didn't, but then when you came home. You told me about your adventures. I don't know... it just seemed right."

Kagome smiled. "I guess as long as you are happy."

"I am, sis."

Inuyasha said, "So, you beat them up, huh?"

"Yeah." Souta answered not sure what Inuyasha had in mind.

"Well, lets see what you got, squirt."

Kagome said in her warning tone, "Inuyasha..."

"Don't worry. I won't hurt him... much."

Kikyo added, "Don't worry, Kagome. I'll watch them."

"Thanks, Kikyo."

"No problem. I would like to walk around, if that's alright."

Grandpa replied, "That's no problem, priestess. I'll show you around. Come."

After Kikyo, Inuyasha, Souta, and Grandpa went outside, Sesshomaru, the pups, Kagome, and Aiko were in the living room. Shippo and Rin looked outside. Aiko noticed. "Do you want to go outside and play?"

They said in unison, "Oh, yes, grandma!" Aiko giggled and looked at the couple. The pups were giving them their puppy eyes. Sesshomaru sighed, "Very well, however, don't get off of this estate."

They'd squealed in excitement and ran outside towards Souta and Inuyasha.

Aiko giggled at their antics. She remembered those days when Kagome and Souta were around their age running around. "Momma?" Kagome said as she unknowingly interrupted her mother's thoughts. "Yes, dear."

"I need to tell you something." Aiko motioned her to go on. "This will be my last time coming back home... well, at least until 500 hundred years had pasted."

Aiko sighed. "I know, dear. Don't be sad. You have your friends and your family along the way. I love you, Kagome. I just want you to be happy. So, Lord Sesshomaru, I am trusting you to love and protect her forever."

Sesshomaru smirked. "You have this Sesshomaru's word. And this one had always kept his word."

"That's great to her, my lord. At least now I will sleep soundly. May I, dear?" Kagome nodded. Aiko walked to her daughter. She felt the movement of the unborn pup. "Do you know the sex of the fetus, yet?"

Kagome smiled and said, "Oh, yes, momma. It's a girl."

Aiko was perplexed. "But Kagome, how do you know?"

Kagome giggled. "Oh, you wouldn't believe me, momma."

"Try me."

"Okay, it wasn't long after I found out that I was pregnant. I started to see a spirit of a little girl." Kagome gave her mother a brief description of the pup.

"So, how long are you staying?"

"All month. I want to celebrate Christmas with you, Grandpa, and Souta."

"All month? Are you sure? What about your duties?"

Sesshomaru answered, "My father and mother are acting as lord and lady for the time being."

"Your father? I thought that your father was dead."

Kagome said, "He was, but I guess the gods gave him another chance... well not just him, but Kikyo and Inuyasha as well. Momma, you would never believe who also came back to live."

"Who, dear?"

"That vile bastard, Naraku," Inuyasha interrupted as everyone turned their heads and saw him leaning on the door frame.

"Naraku? But I thought that you and your friends defeated him."

"We did. The bastard had a back up plan."

Sesshomaru added, "That filthy half-breed raped my sister to conceive a pup. However, the pup was more like his mother. He used dark magic to create him a son, who's just like him."

Kagome added, "It was almost four years that I'd returned to the Feudal Era, when Inuyasha died the first time. The killer turned out to be Akuokaesu, the Lord of the Southern Lands. Naraku had Inuhime's son kidnapped Rin while Inuhime was suppose to kidnapped me. He only took Rin. Not very long ago, Inuhime had to fake her death. Rin and Akihiko, Inuhime's son, somehow escaped from their captures. You see, Akihiko was forced into it if he wanted to see his mother. Naraku threaten the same thing to Inuhime."

"Oh, dear. Have you heard anything from him?"

Sesshomaru answered, "No, he's been quiet since then. I doubt that he would try to attack during the winter. Especially, if he wanted the support of the Southern residents."

"Oh my. Dinner is running late. I suppose I would start dinner. You just relax and watch some T.V."
