Okay so here is the next chapter. I'm still taking in ideas for abilities/affinities. In this chapter I will explain how Elemental Affinities in my story work so that you get a feel for how things go. I know in some stories people can lean any element to a varying degree. Well in mine it's a little different but I will explain that later, for not let me know what you think and I have a question if I may... I would like to know what you all think is sealed up by the Memory Suppression Seal. If you guess right or get close then I will let you either decide on a certain aspect, like how characters develop or, If you would like me to incorporate a bit of your favorite pairing as a side story, I can do that too. If you win we'll talk it over. I don't expect any of you to get it down exactly you just need to be close. Alright here is your first hint/bit of info, and you'll get another hint later in the story, there are four people involved, and each has a title, one is The Innocent, one is, The Victim, one is, The Savior, and one is The Comforter three of the people are cannon characters, and one is an OC. If you can guess what happens, based off that info, and who are the other two, unidentified parties, (cus ones Naruto) then you win. I want to really know where your heads are at so, let me know. I don't intend to reveal the winner so it will still be a surprise... so just let me know. I will give you another hint later. GOODLUCK
Naruto, The Runaway Chronicles
Chapter 12
'It is so beautiful.' A man thought as he gazed out over the Hidden Leaf, from the comfort of his bedroom. This man was a simple one, he kept to himself, and liked to spend time with his family, even now he could just barely hear his wife's quite breathing from the bed behind him. The man was a quite one, often, was he deep in thought, and filled with questions.
"Hmm... Good morning, handsome." The man heard his wife say as she awoke from her slumber and began to stretch.
"Good morning to you as well." The man replied with a pleasant smile on his face as his beautiful wife rose from slumber. After a moment his wife sat up and looked over at him, the covers fell revealing her large beautiful breasts, which were still exposed from the previous nights... 'activities'.
The man couldn't help but gaze at his wife beautiful 'assets'
"Like what you see?" The woman asked as she noticed her husbands gave drifting toward her chest.
"I always have." The man replied as foxy grin spread across his face, he took a step towards his wife, as her own grin began to grow... before either could continue this course of events, however, both felt a flare of chakra.
The man spun around and gazed across the Leaf village, his eyes came to rest on the Hokage tower. He could barely see a greyish shimmer around the building, indicating that a barrier had been placed around it.
Not knowing what that meant, the man immediately snapped to attention. With a single thought, a seal on his body activated, and he was suddenly dressed in full ANBU attire. With a flick of his wrist a frog mask appeared in his hand, he quickly put it on, and threw the window open. He quickly perched on the window sill and glanced back at his wife.
"Somethings up. Gotta go! Tell the kids, I love them!" Frog said as he dove off the sill and into the streets.
"Hmph... Men! All work and no play." Frog's wife pouted as she wrapped a blanket around herself and shut the window.
-Meanwhile-
"You think she'll lighten up this time?" Nayumi asked as her and Naruto stood crouched in an alley.
"Who knows. It's not like it matters, let's just get going." Naruto replied as he reached out and grabbed a nearby wooden fence. He grabbed one of the boards and found to his almost palpable joy, that is was still loose enough to crawl under. Naruto and Nayumi had been quietly sneaking through the village for a little over ten minutes now. Naruto knew many ways in and out of the village, that not even the ANBU were aware of. The two were easily able to move through the city using Naruto's pathways. It almost made Naruto want to face palm every time he would try one of his old methods, and they actually worked. He used loose boards in fences, windows he knew were never locked, stuff that a keen mind could exploit, and now these two trained ninja, were using to there advantage.
It also didn't hurt that Naruto could create a shadow clone and send it ahead to make sure the path was clear, and once it checked it would poof and Naruto would immediately know.
"Idiots... you'd think they'd learn to fix this shit! Well... I guess it's better for us that they think, they are untouchable behind there high walls." Naruto grumbled as he crawled under the board.
"Right... who knows when the old bat is going to start having her ANBU scour the outskirts of the village for us." Nayumi stated as she followed Naruto under the board and into a courtyard.
"Let's just hurry and remember the plan, if anyone shinobi see us." Naruto made sure to remind her as she joined him.
"I remember... you just focus on getting us to our location." Nayumi told him, trying not to sound snippy, since she knew he was just being careful.
"Okay... let's get across this courtyard and then, under that wall to the right. There should be a small hole next at the base of the wall, behind that bush. With a little bit of digging, we should be able to get through." Naruto told her, as after a moment of letting his memories of previous passages through this area return to him.
"Right." Nayumi said as the two darted across the thirty or so feet to the wall.
-Elsewhere-
"The boy has grown smarter, my lady." A wolf masked ANBU stated and he and the Hokage raced towards the gate to meet with Naruto.
"Don't even start with me captain. I can't believe I fell for his shadow clones." She stated with only the slightest hint of damage to her pride.
"Don't be to hard on yourself my lady. There was no way for us to know that the boy had grown smart enough to prepare for our attempt to capture him. And there was no way for you to know that the boy would be cautious enough to send a shadow clone in his place." The ANBU captain replied.
"I know it's just... it's hard to believe he's changed so much." Tsunade said with a sigh as she continued towards to gate.
A moment of silence passed, before she looked over at her first captain, "Get the trackers." She ordered as she closed in on her destination.
'I'm sorry Naruto... but I can't let you go. I can't lose you again.' Tsunade told herself as she ran.
-Meanwhile-
Naruto and Nayumi's clones stood casually chatting just outside the Leaf's main gate, they both had the same bored look on their faces as they waited for Tsunade to appear. Only occasionally the two gate guards would glance at them, with only mild interest.
Suddenly Tsunade and her guard appeared at the gate.
"Greetings my lady." Naruto greeted her, with a neutral look.
"It's good you made it." Nayumi added. Tsunade just stared at the two with a bit of reservation before approaching.
"Lady Tsunade, I do hope that this time, our meeting will be more productive this time." Nayumi said with a smile upon seeing her.
"Yes... I hope so as well." Tsunade said with an irritated sigh.
"I'm sure now that you're actually focusing on my chakra, you can tell we're just shadow clones, we'll be handling discussions with you, in place of our real selves." Naruto informed Tsunade with a curt glance.
"I see. If you only planned on having shadow clones enter the village then why bother coming at all?" Tsunade asked.
"Because I promised I would give you a chance to prove yourself. Needless to say you failed. But since I'm in a good mood, I'm willing to give you one last chance... these clones of ours will pop in exactly twenty-three hours. You have until then to give me a reason to come back to this place." Naruto informed her. Tsunade stared at him for a few moments, sizing him up before letting out a sigh
"Look Naruto... I just wanted to apologize. I acted rashly. I truly believed you were being manipulated. I'm sorry that my inability to accept this new you, caused us to get off on the wrong foot. So what do you say, we start over?" Tsunade offered an apology.
"Even though I know you still think I'm being controlled, I accept your apology. Just know that when these two clones pop, we'll have our answers, and if there good... you might here from me again, if not then... well, you wont." Naruto politely informed her.
"Ok... well... it's very nice to meet the two of you. I am Tsunade Senju, Hokage of the Hidden Leaf village." Tsunade politely introduced herself, deciding it was best to not agitate Naruto, at the moment.
"It's very nice to meet you my lady. I am Naruto Namikaze, Hiyoto." Naruto informed her. He had to quickly stifle a laugh as Tsunade's stiffed in surprise.
"Yes... it's nice to make your acquaintance. I am Nayumi Hiyoto, Lady of the Southern Provinces of the Land of Lightning." Nayumi introduced herself.
Tsunade barely heard her. She was still staring at Naruto. She was shocked to hear that he knew of his lineage, and even more so... he had taken it as his full name. That meant that Kumo knew that he was related to Minato. The thought made her sick to her stomach.
"Are you alright my lady?" Nayumi asked, as she noticed Tsunade still gawking at Naruto.
"What? Yes. I'm fine. Naruto... where did you get that last name, Namikaze?" Tsunade asked.
"The Fox told me who my parents were. Minato Namikaze, and Kushina Uzumaki. I figured it was only right that at the very least I take my fathers name... seeing as how he sacrificed himself and all." Naruto replied with a bit of a distant look about him.
"I see. Naruto... does the Raikage know about who your parents are?" Tsunade asked.
"Yep. He was a little surprised when he figured it out. But he's cool now. The Raikage really respected the fourth. The two used to fight all the time during the war, and my dad was the only person alive who could counter the Raikage's speed with his own. I think he's eager to see what I can do, I hope I don't disappoint him." Naruto informed her, that last part made Tsunade cringe.
"So... how have you been Naruto?" Tsunade decided to ask, as she leaned against the side of the village gate.
"I've been good. Me and Nayumi just got back from our honeymoon... and we're really looking forward to getting back to Aski." Naruto replied.
"I see." Tsunade stated, as her eyes fell on the young Feudal Lady.
"Naruto is right... I'm really looking forward to finally going home. The Land of Fire is nice and everything, but I prefer the cool breeze of my home land." Nayumi added.
"Hmm... What about you Naruto? How do you like Aski?" Tsunade asked after a moment of thought.
"It's pretty cool. Not nearly as big as the Leaf, but big enough. 450,000 people is more then enough of a crowd to deal with. The Leaf's Three million is a bit much, and I don't even know how people deal with the Imperial cities. Last I heard the Lightning Capitol had nearly Ten million people living in it." Naruto stated.
"So... you prefer a bit of a calmer atmosphere, but still like the feel of the city?" Tsunade guessed.
"Yep... that sound about right. Cities are fun, but there are just times when you need to get away for a little while, to someplace quite. At least in Aski you don't have to go far." Naruto replied.
"How has the Leaf village been, my Lady? I hope things are going well." Nayumi inquired with a curious look, her political side, taking precedence, over her Shinobi side.
"The Leaf is fine... not much going on at the moment. What of the Cloud? Anything interesting happening there?" Tsunade asked, in response.
"Not much. I hear lord A, has been cracking down on crime, within the village, but nothing more interesting then that." Nayumi replied with a thoughtful look.
"I see. Well that's good to hear. Say, would you two like to return to my office, I'm sure we'd all be more comfortable if we could sit." Tsunade asked. The two gave her a suspicious look, so she was forced to add, "Don't worry, I wont be trying anything. I can't very well do anything to shadow clones, now can I?"
The Two continued to stare for a moment before sharing a glance. They both nodded in agreement after a moment.
"Alright then. Follow me." Tsunade told them as they all turned and started walking towards the Hokage tower.
-Meanwhile-
"So what was all the commotion about?" Frog asked, as few of his ANBU compatriots, as he approached the Hokage Tower.
"Apologies Frog, but I can't say." The ANBU captain of the squad responded.
"Oh... well... at the very least can you tell me if I should be on alert?" Frog questioned.
"No... everything is alright. You can go about your business Frog. Thank you for your concern. We're just going to check with the commander and then begin our patrols" The ANBU captain informed him
"Oh.. well then. Carry on. I'll be on my way." Frog replied with a quick bow, before shushining to the top of a nearby building.
'Well, if they don't think I should worry, then I guess it must not be important... … … I wonder if my family is still at home... … … I wonder if Ichiraku's is open?" Frog thought to himself as he stared out over the village, with a content smile under his mask.
-Elsewhere-
"Alright... the Namikaze compound is just down the street." The real Naruto, informed Nayumi. They had now been in the Leaf for about a half hour, and they were just a block or two away from there target. It was around ten minutes ago, when they both felt a large group of ANBU shoot by at high speed. They were headed for the village gates. Chances were good that the Hokage had sent teams to search for them.
The two had, had a few close calls, but the lucky rabbits foot that had been surgically sown up Naruto's ass, many years prior, had ensured that the only ones to spot them were, civilians who didn't give then a second thought. The two wore dark brown cloaks and masks, so most people just assumed they were ANBU. Otherwise, they kept their chakra suppressed and the only time a Chuunin spotted the two, they both started giggling and throwing paper shuriken at each other. The Chuunin had interpreted the actions as just that of two young civilians playing ANBU. Naruto remembered from when he was younger that children and even teens, civilian and ninja would run around and pretend to be ANBU, out on high ranked missions. He remembered never being allowed to play with these children and in some cases, he would be the target of they're, 'Assassination' missions. In which case they would throw paper shuriken or rocks or in some cases, when they were encouraged by their parent, real weapons, at him.
Anyway... the two were closing in on their destination and the tension was almost visible. The sneaking in and out of alleyways, eventually led them to within a few dozen yards of their destination. After a moment of silence the two shared a look before stepping out of the alley they were in and heading towards the Namikaze household.
Naruto was so focused on the gate to the compound... no more then thirty yards in front of him, that he never saw the person who bumped into him.
"Hey!" A young boy, said in surprise as he bumped shoulders with Naruto.
"Sorry." Naruto muttered without sparing the boy a single thought.
Nayumi did however, she watched as the redheaded boy, no more then eight gave Naruto a sour look, before turning and shouting for someone to wait up for him. He then darted off without sparing them a second glance. Nayumi thought nothing of this, but someone did. A big red someone.
"What the fuck was that?!" The Fox thought in surprise as it felt and enormous surge of chakra, that felt ominously familiar, when Naruto bumped with the boy. The Chakra was so familiar but the great beast couldn't tell where it remembered feeling that power from.
It didn't get time to ponder this however as it's host reached the gate to the Namikaze compound.
Naruto stared at the iron bars the served as the only entrance to the Namikaze compound. The compound itself was surrounded by fifteen foot high walls that were plain concrete, with the Uzumaki and the Namikaze Clan symbols on them.
"Are you ready?" Nayumi asked, as she eyed her husband. She could almost feel how nervous he was. She knew from what little she had gathered about Naruto, over the course of their friendship, was that he was a person who clambered for the 'whys' of the world. He wanted to know a lot of things, and he was always asking questions. And if he didn't get the answer to his questions then he would move heaven and earth to find another way to answer them.
She guessed that finally being able to unveil the shroud of mystery over his father, was something that Naruto longed for, and now that the chance to learn the 'whys' about his father, was so near, she guessed he was anxious.
"Yeah... Yumi. I'm ready." Naruto replied as he placed his hand on the bars of the gate. He immediately felt them begin to tug at his chakra, which he guessed meant that a chakra seal had been placed on the bars.
After a moment of quite tension Naruto took a deep breath and let some of his chakra slip into the bars. For a moment nothing happened, and he began to feel a bit of fear well up inside of him, but then it happened he heard a click and then suddenly the latch on the door clicked open.
"Sweet... let's go before anyone sees us." Nayumi muttered in his ear as she pressed past him into the compound.
"Yeah... let's go." Naruto muttered in delighted disbelief, as he looked at the open gates.
"Hey kid... I need to tell you som..." The fox began to say but it's voice was cut off the second Naruto stepped into the compound.
Naruto made a face, before grinning, as he thought to himself, 'I guess my mom or dad made a seal over the compound, so that furball couldn't interrupt their private time.'
Naruto couldn't hear the fox anymore but he could feel it... and man was it pissed.
Naruto just giggled as he shut the gates behind him and then followed after Nayumi whom was already at the front door waiting for him.
All the while inside of Naruto, the fox was freaking out. Something was very wrong. 'This seal... it's stopping me from speaking to him. It's keeping my chakra suppressed to a point where only if Naruto comes down here, will I be able to speak with him. This seal wasn't here sixteen years ago...'

-AN-
In my Shinobi world people are usually born with a single affinity. This affinity is the only one they can essentially master. You see in my AU, there are two kinds of base ninjutsu, they're are Chakra transformation techniques, and elemental transformation techniques. Chakra Transformation, is the most basic kind... this is where a persons chakra takes on the properties of the element... it doesn't actually transform into it.
Example: Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu, would be a chakra transformation technique where the chakra takes the form of a fireball, and if it hit's you it burns. However it doesn't produce heat, or set things on fire.
Fire Style: Grand Fireball Jutsu, is an Elemental Transformation technique, where a persons chakra is actually transformed into the element. This means that the fireball is a real fireball. It produces heat, and can set things on fire... it isn't just energy that looks like fire.
I know it's a little harder to understand so just follow me.
Chakra transformation: Jutsu are usually B-rank and below, Chakra takes on the properties of the element, can be learned by anyone.
Nature Transformation: Jutsu are A-rank and Above, Chakra transforms into the element, can only be used by someone whom is born with that affinity.
If I wasn't clear or you have questions let me know. I had to do this outta story cuz I couldn't think of a way to easily incorporate this info. If you have questions please let me know... I really want this to be clear since it's an integral part of the story. Anyway... I hope you liked it, sorry it's short... I needed to set up for the next chapter. Let me know what you think... and until next time!
