Part I of II: The Beginning of the Battle
After Keiko went to deliver the message to Kagome and Kikyo, Zokushi revealed that Orochi would no longer have a sexual drive that would keep the spell ongoing. Orochi's disguise will dissolved and reveal the true Orochi for all to see. Inuyasha, Zokushi, Ichiko, Keiko, and Kikyo were ordered by the matriarch to go and fight in battle. Inuyasha had no qualms with that. Of course, Inuhime, Inukimi, and Kagome protested, but once again they were reminded why they couldn't go; not that they'd already known it. It was that they wished to be by their mates' sides. Kimiko felt their need to help them; so she came up with a spell that will temporarily made her pregnant with her great-great grand-pups, Kagome's twins, Inukimi's pup, and Inuhime's pup. The spell would take some time, before they're ready for battle.
Meanwhile at the Central Lands, all four sides, the West, the East, the South, and the North, surrounded the enemy camp. But just before they charged, Hyousureiyā, the foe of the South met with Toran and her panther clan. Yaminoryū, the foe of the North, met with his cousin and mate, Ryutansei and Joseiryu, and their fellow ryu warriors. Kuraiōkami, the foe of the East, met with Kouga and his mate, Ayame, and their fellow okami warriors standing behind them. As for Akira, she met with the Western Lord, Sesshomaru, who has his father and their fellow kitsune, inu, and okami warriors standing behind him.
"So, Sesshomaru, This one's allies and this Akira were thinking. We should fight this last battle with just us and let our people watch from the sidelines, unless you are still that heartless bastard."
"Hn, this Sesshomaru agrees to your proposal and your statement that this one's a heartless bastard, as you put it."
"If you say you are heartless, then why you agreed to our decision."
"It's obviously simple, this war is just between this one and your worthless whore self."
She growled, "This Akira is no whore!"
"Hn, not what this Sesshomaru has heard. You slept with both Naraku and his filth of a son. Also, this one heard you mated with a worthless inuyoukai, Orochi."
"This Akira has no idea that you were jealous, Sesshomaru. Maybe we should just screw this war and kiss and make up, if you know what I mean."
Suddenly an annoying voice was heard, "Pff, like Sesshomaru will fuck you!"
InuTaisho, Hikaru, and Sesshomaru's eyes widened at Inuyasha sudden appearance. "Inuyasha, what the hell are you doing here?! You were suppose to protect Kagome and the pups!"
"Relax, Sesshomaru. They're safe." Sesshomaru was relieved. "Besides, I didn't come, alone."
"Akira, where's your mate," Zokushi asked, tauntingly. "He isn't here, is he? I wonder why."
Akira growled. "My mate's whereabouts is none of your concern!"
Akira charged at Sesshomaru as he was already ready standing in his battle stance, but just before she attack with her sword Orochi drawn his and got between her and Sesshomaru. Sesshomaru jumped away.
"Well, he finally arrived."
"You think that this Orochi will let you fight his mate. If you did, then you have another thing coming."
While Sesshomaru and company were trash talking with Akira, Yaminoryū and Ryutansei were having their own.
"So, cousin, I decided that I might spare you and the lives of your mate and dragon-lings*, if and only if you surrender yourself to me now."
"Ha, not in your life, cousin."
"How selfish? You won't spare the lives of your mate and dragon-lings."
"No, I know how you are, Yaminoryū. You say something and do something different. Besides, I WILL NOT loose to the likes of you!"
Ryutansei and Yaminoryū charged at each other.
Meanwhile...
Kuraiōkami said, "I will finally get what you and your family has taken from mine!"
Kouga just stayed silent. "Look, man, I don't know who you are and what you're talking about! My family had this throne for centuries now."
"That will change after this war, Kouga. I will take what's yours including your pretty little mate!"
Kouga growled, "Like hell, you are, Kuraiōkami!"
Kouga charged at the black wolf...
Meanwhile...
Hyousureiyā said, "Finally, after all these years, I get to avenge my family! Toran, you and your clan will go down this day!"
"Not likely," she deadpanned.
All four sides are now engage in battle with their enemies...
Unbeknownst to the enemy and the allies, the holy army decided the take on the lesser youkai. On the allies' side, however, proved to be harder, because they fought back. The monks and priestesses surmised that they'd known about them. The only ones who knew weren't there. They were instructed to not engage the more powerful youkai, that was the circular thingy's job.
Zokushi and Ichiko nodded to each other signaling that they were about to do something major. Keiko and Kikyo were fighting against their former allies.
"So, Kikyo decided to switch sides again," said one of the priestesses. "The Kami will punish you and your apprentice."
Kikyo retorted, "That's highly unlikely, since the Kami, themselves, told me that the youkai have every right to live as we, humans, do."
"What Kami told you that?!"
"Amaterasu-muchi, herself."
"Impossible! Why would she tell you that? The Great Priestess* said that all youkai are evil..."
"NO!" Kikyo interrupted. "The Great Priestess didn't say such a thing! It was humans that decided that; not the Great Priestess nor the Kami!"
"Are you saying that all youkai are good?!"
"No! Youkai are no different than us! Just as there are good and bad humans, there are good and bad youkai!" Kikyo readied her bow and fired at the priestess. It made it's bull's eye; the heart.
The priestess who was shot looked at the arrow and then at Kikyo. "You would kill for them! You are no better than them, Kikyo!" The said priestess fell onto her back.
Inuyasha was shock. He'd never thought in a million years that Kikyo would kill another human being; much less her fellow miko. Kikyo walked towards the fallen miko and pulled out the arrow. Inuyasha looked at her face. There was no remorse; no sadness.
"Kikyo?"
Kikyo knew that Inuyasha wouldn't get it, but then suddenly she saw a priestess shot an arrow at Inuyasha. Her eyes widen as she quickly blocked the arrow with her own body, which the arrow had hit her lungs. She clasped to the ground coughing up blood.
"Kikyo!" Inuyasha and Keiko yelled in unison. Keiko shot a similar arrow to that priestess, who shot Kikyo, instead of Inuyasha as Inuyasha dropped to his knees and held her in his arms. It brought back unwanted memories when Kikyo died the second time. She coughed and struggled to breath.
"Kikyo," Inuyasha said softly.
"Inu-Yasha? I am so sorry. I'd never meant to...,' she coughed, '...break your heart." She coughed. She saw that Keiko was near her. She weakly grabbed her hand and put it in Inuyasha's hand. "I am trusting you to protect her my apprentice." She coughed, "Promise me, Inuyasha that...' she coughed, '...you will love again. Also that...' she coughed up blood and took in a deep breath, '...you won't have your brother resurrect me. Promise me, please, Inuyasha."
"I... I promise," he said hesitantly.
"And never let go of that promise."
"You have my word, Kikyo."
She smiled. "Inu...,' she coughed and gasped a breath, '...Yasha. I hope you forgive me, one day." She coughed up blood. It was streaming down on the side of her mouth as she exhaled her last breath.
"Kikyo...," Keiko whispered as tears were rolling down on her fair cheeks. She knew that she was gone. She saw that her hand was still in Inuyasha's. She looked up at him. The first thing she noticed was that he was crying. The second, he looked like his father. She, instantly, went to hug him. He was shocked at first, but then he embrace her. They held each other as they wept for Kikyo's death.

*dragon-ling= I don't know what you call a baby dragon. Plus, I didn't want to call it a 'hatchling' either, soooo... dragonling was it.
*The Great Priestess- this priestess was supposely the first priestess, who also mated with a inuyoukai, who bore the first silver inudaiyoukai, which is why they were powerful and immune to holy attacks, in theory anyway.
