Amelia walked through the halls, letting her eyes meander about the paintings, it didn't matter that she had memorized every single detail on every single painting in the castle, she still liked to look at them. It let up some more room in her mind to think.

Her feet led themselves almost instinctively to her husband's study. Without pause she opened the door, her mind failing her to remember to knock at least, she marched in preoccupied from her time with Elsa.

"Your highness." Captain Theodor said rising from his seat to bow at her presence.

Thomas looked up from his desk and saw behind the captain was his distracted looking queen.

"Uh... Theodor, if you'd please excuse us. Thank you for your time." The king asked as he got up to go over to his wife.

"Of course your majesty." Theodor bowed to them both and Amelia became aware enough to nod her head, along with Thomas, to the captain. Then Theodor promptly quitted the large office and shut the door behind him softly, so that their royal majesties could have their privacy.

"Well? What happened my love?" Thomas asked as he led her to one of the chairs in front of his desk, and him taking the one beside her continued, "How did it go?"

"Oh Thomas... Where to begin!... Well first Anna has taken to her mother's old antics. Apparently Lillian gained a serious side after marrying Charles." Amelia's eyes finally re lit as she began to recount her conversations with the young sisters.

"Or, mayhaps, you rubbed off on her more than you thought."

"Oh please! We spent seventeen years together and I could never tame her!"

"Go on then." Thomas let out a warm chuckle and held his wife's hand.

"Well it would also seem that Lillian never mentioned me. At least not to Elsa..."

"Yes, how did that go." Thomas asked a little nervous, remembering Amelia's distracted demeanor when she came in.

"Our kingdom didn't get frozen over, so very well I dare say. She only managed to freeze my chambers, with all the doors open, might I add. I know understand Rapunzel's fascination. It was truly a spectacle to behold Thomas. The room went frigid and snow fell everywhere, until I managed to calm her down. I got her to understand that we mean her no harm, that we're not angry with her in the slightest. We left my chambered arm in arm, smiling and laughing. I believe she understands that we are here for her, but still... Bless her poor soul."

"Did she tell you what happened at sea?" Thomas asked with a knowing tone in his voice. Theodor was relaying what Elsa's crew had told him of Elsa's endeavors.

"No, I'll let her tell it when she's ready. Darling, they've gone through so much and they are still so young. Elsa has fully become Anna's mother and Anna doesn't question it whatsoever. Elsa explained, in complete confidante; Anna had left at Rapunzel's silly behest, that she feels overwhelmed. That she has to remain strong for the sake of her people and her sister. And she feels she's too busy to look for a partner to share her burden with. I don't see how she does it. It must take immense strength. She looks so worn down Thomas. I'm frankly, very concerned about her."

"My love! You speak as if you are concerned about her as your own daughter, both of them!"

"How could I not!? They've lost their parents, their rocks, their guidance! Someone needs to worry about them!"

"That may be, but they haven't asked you to worry about them. Your motives may be pure, but you do seem to be wanting to replace the mother figure in their lives."

Needless to say that put Amelia in an outrage. She leapt from her chair in a pained gasp and stormed out of the room, slamming the door before Thomas could say anything more.

"Amelia!" Thomas barked in confusion. He then followed suit and ran out the door and soon caught up to his wife, who was visibly seething with fury. "Whatever I said to upset you... You know I would never mean to offend you my dear. What ever harmed you was merely my speculations!"

Amelia scoffed with disgust and kept marching forward until Thomas blocked her path every which way, forbidding her from escaping him.

"Let me pass." She demanded crossly, without looking at him lest she'd slap his face in a flash of anger.

"No, I will not you leave to fester your anger. Let's talk this through. I'm sorry for what I said. I'm just... I..." He couldn't get his words out. His mind was flying a thousand miles a second. The imaginary replays of Elsa's deeds taking hold of him.

"You what!?" Amelia barked in annoyance.

"You still haven't heard of what Elsa's done! I can't get it out of my head." He placed his hangs gently on her shoulders and she let him, feeling that he was about to make his point. "Amelia, because she's become a mother of sorts, it's what saved her life, her sister's life, her crew's lives! I don't think she's looking for a mother figure right now is all. I know, I know don't give me that look. You wish to care for every down trodden soul you lay your big, beautiful eyes on, but maybe Elsa isn't as down trodden as you believe. Look at what all she's done!"

"Thomas... I do understand what you're saying, but you just didn't really look at her. You haven't spoken to her. I can see all the sleepless nights painted underneath her tired eyes. She's always working and looking after her sister and may I remind that their mother was a spritely little pain in the neck, and Anna has turned out to be her reincarnate."

She paused, and they both saw that they looked much more relaxed. Amelia felt relived that she could take this weight off her chest, if only for a little while.

"No, they didn't ask for a replacement, and trust me I know they don't want a replacement. It's either their mother or nothing. All they want is some peace."

Thomas simply stood there in awe at his wife's emotional and verbal prowess and he felt compelled to agree with her with a beaming grin. He placed a loving kiss on her forehead. Amelia half expected another heated comeback and was honestly thrown off a little at her husband's gentle gesture of surrender.

Thomas then looked right into his wife's said "big, beautiful eyes" and held her hands in his. "You're right."

"Well, I know I'm right. I'm always right." Amelia affirmed breathlessly. This was the was the easiest and the fastest she had ever won an argument.

Thomas chuckled at her exasperated tone and then pressed on, "After what we have both heard I believe peace is to be their main priority. It's what they need now more than ever."

"And what exactly is it that you have heard?" Amelia asked in wonder.

"If you promise not to run away again, I will tell you." Thomas jested.

"I'd hardly say that I ran away." Amelia contested as she began to lead them back to his office.

"Oh! Then what would you say it was?"

"Excusing myself." She explained holding her head up high.

"Why, of course. My apologies." He said with twinkling eyes.

"You are forgiven."

Amelia stopped them right in front the office door and spun around to face him again and reached up on her toes and the king closed the distance and kissed her in plain view for anyone to see in the open hallway.
