Hello everyone! Wow guys, everytime I see the number of favorites and follows my jaw drops. I apologize for not being able to update, but my summer started off pretty busy. Hopefully it cools down somewhat.

Caroline clung to the rails as she realized just how tall the Eiffel Tower really was. "Love, are you okay?" Klaus asked placing a gentle hand on her back. Caroline jumped and said angrily, "You could have pushed me off!" Klaus looked confused at her.

"No I couldn't, and even if I did I wouldn't let you fall. Caroline, are you scared? Do you want to go down?" Klaus asked. "Of course not! But I do think we've been up her a little to long, let's go back down." Caroline tried to answer causally, but miserably failed.

She clung on to his arm tightly as he led her to the elevator, but soon relaxed as he put an arm around her. When they got back down on the ground, Klaus asked her. "What would you like to do now, love?" Caroline was about to answer with an, 'I don't know?" When she saw the most beautiful shoes in a store window.

Without answering, she pulled him to the boutique. At first, Klaus was weary about having to wait for her to buy things, but when she started to model things for him, his attitude quickly changed.

As they were walking out what had to be their eighth store, Caroline said. "You know, you really didn't have to buy me all those things." As she struggled with the multiple bags and boxes. "You just looked so ravishing in everything." Klaus answered and Caroline immediately blushed.

"But you spent a lot of money, Klaus. You shouldn't throw around money like that, no matter how much I appreciate it." Caroline argued. "I enjoyed it, and I have plenty more money." Klaus answered with a sense of finality as he set down the bags they were carrying into their room.

They ended up being so exhausted they ended up ordering room service. "What do you want love?" Klaus asked. "Do you think a five star hotel offers Chinese?" Caroline asked. "They will if I ask." Klaus answered.

While they waited, Caroline decided to take a shower in the luxurious bathroom. When she walked out the food had already arrived. After a delicious dinner, they both got ready for bed.

As they were laying in bed, a question started to bother Caroline, though she thought it'd be a little insensitive to ask. But with no warning it burst out, "What happened to your parents?" Klaus's face seem to harden and Caroline tried to backtrack, "I didn't mean to say that, but they weren't at the wedding but you don't have to tell me-" "Caroline," Klaus interrupted gently. "Love, you are my wife and you deserve to know, there will be no secrets between us." Klaus seemed to gather his thoughts before starting.

"My mother came from an abusive family, her mother had died when she was young and her father blamed her. Once or twice he beat her so hard she almost died, but still she loved him. Maybe that's why my mother was able to fall for my father. In the beginning he was kind to her, but that quickly changed and before you knew it she was pregnant. My mother felt trapped, so she married him. Her first child, Finn, was my older brother. But one day when he was sixteen, he and my father died in an accident. Finn was picking my father up from a bar, and he was very intoxicated. He was an angry drunk, he began yelling at Finn, and in his rage he hit Finn, knocking him out cold. At the time they were on top of a bridge, the car swerved and went off the railing and into the river. They both drowned."

Caroline held his hand as he told his story, every so often a tear rolled down his cheek. With a shuddering breath he continued. "The news left my mother devastated, my mother was a loving person, and despite everything she loved them both. She tried to go on, she really did. But my youngest brother, Henrik, finally died of cancer soon after. My mother loved us, but her life had been too traumatic, the day after Henrik died, she jumped off the bridge and drowned herself, the same one Finn and Mikael died in. I'm not angry at her for leaving us, if I was her I'd probably do the same."

After a few moments in silence, Caroline replied, "Thank you for sharing that. My parents died in a house fire when I was a baby, for my entire life I had been in foster homes. When I was a teenager I rebelled a bit, not doing anything serious, I'm a good girl at heart. One day my boyfriend at the time attempted to rape me in my bedroom while my foster parents were out, I fought back but couldn't get away. Thankfully my foster father came in at the last second, I never saw my boyfriend after that. Being stupid and naive I thought I was in love with him and I cried every day. After my foster mother talked to me, I realized I was seriously screwing up. I turned my life around, I started hanging out with good people, I became captain of the cheer squad and got good grades. But my foster parents were very old and had no children of their own. One day my foster father died of a massive stroke. My foster mother loved him dearly, it seemed she couldn't live without him. A few days later she died, of what, the doctors didn't know, but I know it was of a broken heart."

They continued to lay there, grateful to get everything off their chest. They fell asleep, still holding each other's hand.
