Hi Guys! So as I promised here is your update!
The winning vote by all of them (again)
Be all up in Karkat's view and shit (only y'kno, not in those words)
Karkat let out a smile, more feral than excited as he took a deep breath. The whole palace was filled with blood and death and having his powers back he could practically taste the souls floating around him. He leans down to the next glowing body in his path, reaching down to wrap his fingers around the cool glowing orb of bright blue before him. He pulls the orb up to his mouth and with a quick glance over to Sollux to verify he wasn't looking, he swallows the wiggling soul.
Power flares around him, the soul mingling in with the other souls he's consumed on his walk of the castle causing the dark cloak of energy around him move with a life of its own. He missed this. All those years of living as a mortal he told himself he didn't need his powers and he was content living his life with his pets and romcoms, but it was a lie. Karkat WAS Death. Not the Condesce, him.
He looks down at a melted pile of multicolored mush that used to be a god, the corrupt way she used the powers of death made his blood boil. Death was serene, it was cold and inviting. Not the end, not by a long shot because most souls after making their peace would move on and be reborn into a new life. He sighed running his hand over the remains, not surprised when he found it void of a soul.
"Hey KK..." Sollux places a hand on his sholder waking him from his angry thoughts. "I know you thaid that AA sathrifithed herthelf for you. I know it maketh thenth. Thath tho thomething AA would do. But, ith the okay? Like... Her thoul and thit?"
Karkat blinks the solid red of his eyes swirling with power underneith. He didn't even think about searching for Aradia's soul once his power returned. He was too high on the abundance of death around him to think of much else other than getting more power, and taking whats his. He reaches up, placing his hand on top of the one on his shoulder and squeezing it before closing his eyes. The darkness around him spreads out, souls splitting to rush through the halls in search. Dark shadows darting from body to body, returning after they've finished the section of the castle they were sent to.
When the last soul returned melding back with the others his eyes open. Swirls of color dance behind the red of his eyes as he turns to look into the worried eyes of his love. "She's not here."
"Excuthe me?"
Karkat blinks slowly turning to look down the hall. "She's not here, I found the souls of hundreds of gods. Lusus are everywhere swarming the palace coming in from an opened gate to the underworld, but Aradia isn't here. Her body is gone and not even a trace of her soul is left behind from where she saved me."
Sollux pulled his hand away, wiping it off unconsciously on his shirt. "What exathly doeth that mean?"
Karkat grins turning to face Sollux full on. "It means that she isn't dead. Even if her body was moved in her death it would still leave a trail behind until someone found her soul, but there is nothing. Aradia didn't die."
Sollux stares down the hallway, the words sinking in as he watches a flutter of white wings dash past at the intersection of halls. "Okay, so she's alive. Thath great one leth thing I have to think about. I have one more question."
Karkat snorts rolling his eyes. "What the fuck could you possibly want to know now?"
"What the fuck is going on?"
Karkat slaps his forehead with a force so hard the sound echoes down the hall causing a large white wolf to turn and peek down the hall at them. "Didn't you pay any fucking attention at all during that clusterfuck of a gathering Dolorosa called a war meeting?"
A yellow flush spreads across Sollux's cheeks as he scratches the back of his head looking up at the ceiling in guilt. "I had better thingth to pay attention to."
"Oh my glub Sollux that line was so cheesy you could make a moon out of it." The female voice rings through the hallways filled with glitter and laughter. Both boys turn to look with wide eyes at the girl at the end of the hall. Feferi waves in excitement back at them. Eridan scowling behind her as the two stand nearly surrounded by white from all of the Lusus with them.
"In case you two weren't aware there is still a war going on." Eridan snorts earning a quick elbow to the gut from his female companion.
"Not that I don't enjoy SEAing you guys splashing around like a newly hatched fish, but Eridan is right. It's time for the main event. Calliope and Calliborn are keeping the gates to the underworld open and all of the Lusus are storming the castle. Its time to meet up with Meenah and take on the Queen." Feferi giggles at her own puns causing the three men to groan. "Come on boys lets get swimming up stream before Meenah gets impatient and dives in the battle without us!"
BOOM Chapter over~ My dogs incessant need to steal my left arm away from the keyboard made this chapter exceedingly annoying to write but I'm still proud of it. Also this story was originally planned to end like 5 chapters ago but yet here I am still going! I was going to make the next chapter the last one but now I wanna add more and more!
