"Ring Ring" Hikari's phone rang, as Hikari put her hand into her pocket to retrieve it. "I got a job for you" the man answered on the other end.
"Go ahead" she said, as the man laid out the details. "Your target is a mime jr, bag and tag" the man said before hanging up the phone. Hikari was walking closer to the Port City as she reminisced "They normally give you targets you are close to, but a mime jr is going to be har.." Hikari paused, seeing a circus advertisement poster. Perfect.
"Would you like to buy a ticket to see our show?" a man at the circus stall said, putting his hand out as if to expect payment. Hikari was not happy as she gave him the cash as walked on in to see the show.
The stadium had around 500 seats, with roughly 100 of them being occupied. "Every person here is a potential buffer between me and that mine jr, I should probably steal it after the show" she thought to herself, deciding to watch the circus while she waited.
Hikari looked shocked. "Fuck" she said, trying to keep her voice down. There was not one, not two, but three pokemon rangers in the seats watching the show as well. Good thing they were on opposite sides of the stands, Hikari wondered if they would recognize her.
As the show started, a Mime Jr was sitting on the announcers shoulder, as a Ponyta started jumping through hoops of fire. And a lady dressed in black with glossy black stockings jumped from a pole at the top and landed on the ponyta, the crowd cheered. Hikari took notice of the outfit. She wasn't sure if she swung that way or not. She definitely liked abs, she knew that. But something about the tight black on the acrobats legs seemed.. pleasant on her eyes.
Hikari shook her head. "Stay on the mission" she thought to herself. As the show ended, Hikari decided to hide behind the seats while everyone left, pretending to sweep so people leaving thought she was apart of the show.
As they left, she walked down to the announcer and sent out Genger. "Hypnosis" she yelled as she stole the pokeball for the sleeping Mime Jr. Hikari wondered if she ever felt guilty stealing pokemon from innocent people. "It's their fault for stockpiling money when I was starving" she she said to herself, knowing that didn't justify stealing someones companion.
As she walked out, she heard a yell "Hey you! I know that face" Hikari froze, slowly turning around to see two pokemon rangers looking at her bounty poster. "Shit" she said, sending out Tepig and commanding him to use Flamethrower to keep the rangers at a physical distance away from her while Genger worked his magic with hypnosis.
One of the rangers used the other ranger to block his field of vision from genger's eyes as he chased Hikari into the woods nearby. "So is this going to be a double battle?" he said, sending out a magnemite and a totodile. "fine" Hikari said "Tepig, flamethrower on Magnemite and Genger hypnosis on totodile" she yelled, as magnemite tried to counter by using thunderbolt on the flames with totodile backing him up using Water gun on Tepig, pushing him back.
"Tepig, your doing good!" Hikari yelled, as Tepig and Magnemite clashed fire and lightning as Genger sucked the dreams from Totodile, knocking him out. "Two on one now" Hikari said. The Ranger tried to grab his chat device to radio in for assistance. "Genger quick stop him" she yelled, as she waited for magnemite to send a shockwave to Tepig.
"Now Tepig, dodge and counter with flamethrower!" she yelled, as the burning flames hit the poor magnet with everything Tepig had, knocking it out.
As Genger used shadowball on the radio device, Genger used Hypnosis on the ranger as Hikari looked away guilty, as blood started to soak the grass they just fought on.
Hikari approached the buyer and handed him the mime jr as she received an envelope full of cash. "nice doing business with you" he said as he walked off, Hikari peaking into the envelope to make sure it's all there.
Sometimes she felt like she would really appreciate switching professions, living an honest life. But she had earned a good reputation among clients, Hikari sighed. What were the rangers doing anyway, it's rare to see three in one place. Hikari quickly noticed another pokemon ranger, as she put her face down to avoid being noticed. the ranger picked up his chat device as a cold sweat went down Hikari's face.
"The battleships are in position, awaiting you orders Sir White Lightning" he said, as he passed Hikari without noticing her.
Suddenly Hikari saw a big sign, casting over a big shadow. "Welcome to Pierre Anchor!" it read, as she passed through the gates into the city.
"Just what the hell is going on here?" she asked herself.
