Hikari walked along a golden brick road, looking at the great city of Pierre with it's giant shopping centers, cheerful merchants, people surfing on Lapras and lots of other water pokemon.
Hikari got a feel that this was a very vibrant city. Hikari tilted her head as she saw large wooden boxes being lifted by machoke, being moved onto ships, the smell of food was rich. Hikari knew what she was going to do first.
Hikari set her sights on a shopping mall. "Can I help you with anything?" a young man in a tuxedo said as she walked into a clothing store. "Oh no I'm just looking" Hikari said as she browsed. Living life as a criminal, she never got to be girly so she wanted to savor the moment as she flicked through dresses, scarfs and sunglasses. Her eyes were hooked on a light blue scarf.
"Well it's spring, almost about to hit summer, Can I really justify buying this?" she thought to herself, as she decided to make the irrational decision to buy it because she could.
"Thanks, and have a good day miss" the lady at the counter said as Hikari was walking out. "Well is that all your going to buy, a blue scarf?" a random voice said. Hikari stopped, she recognized that voice.
"Jason! Haven't seen you in ages, how have you been?" she said almost cheerfully. "Been good, training heaps" he said, throwing a pokeball out. "Go Camerupt" he yelled, as a big, red camel appeared before Hikari. "Oh wow your Numel evolved" Hikari said with a bit of a surprise.
"Yeah he's been fighting heaps" Jason laughed. "Saw you were leaving the store, did your Poliwhirl already evolve?" he asked her, as Hikari stopped for a second. "No, why?" she asked, interested. "Oh you know to evolve him to his final form, you'll need a water stone, I think they sell one close by" he said confidently.
Hikari really was clueless when it came to evolutions. because there was over 700 pokemon, it was hard to remember what turned into what. She was to busy evading the law anyway. As Hikari and Jason walked into a store, Jason directed her to a shining blue stone in the shiny stone section. Hikari's eyes sparkled. "ooh" she said, wanting them all. "Anything else of mine evolve?" she asked with a grin, Jason laughing. "Not unless you caught anything since last time I saw you" he said as Hikari purchased the water stone.
"Let's go out of the mall and evolve him" Jason said as Hikari sent out her Poliwhirl. "Poliwhirl, look at this" she said as she got on her knees so poliwhirl could see her better. "It's time for us to go to the next level" Hikari said, expecting some fear or worry from poliwhirl, as she felt the need to convince him to take the stone and evolve. But surprisingly, Poliwhirl took the stone as first the stone shined blue under the nice warm sun, then a shining white as both the stone and Poliwhirl were enveloped in the mystical transformation.
"Good work Hikari" Jason said, looking at her new Poliwrath. "Hikari looked cheerily. "Awesome!" she yelled as she pointed her pokeball at Poliwrath "Ok return, Poliwrath". As the red beam went for Poliwrath, he narrowly dodged. "What?!" Hikari said in shock. "Hikari, it looks like he wants to battle" Jason said, curious and entertained. Hikari sent out Staravia. "I don't know what's going on Poliwrath, but staying in the ball is something you should already know" she said with a pause. "Alright Staravia, Gust" she pointed at Poliwrath "Use your height advantage and hit him with projectiles" she said as the winds started to push Poliwrath, as Poliwrath resisted and took the grunt of the attack. Poliwrath quickly sent out a water pulse, as Staravia dodged. "Now wing attack!" she yelled as Staravia closed in for a finisher, his wings starting to turn blue as Staravia crashed into the ground.
"Wow, your Poliwrath learned Ice Punch" Jason said excitedly. Hikari returned Staravia to his pokeball. "Ok that's it, playtime's over" she said, sending out Genger. "Hypnosis" she yelled, as Poliwrath hit the ground. "Dream Eater" she commanded, finding it alot easier to return Poliwrath to his pokeball. "I wonder what that was all about?" Hikari asked Jason. "Maybe he felt he needed to prove his new strength to you?" Jason said, looking puzzled. "You could always challenge the Gym here for Poliwrath to show his new potential, I get the feeling he has an ace up his sleeve we haven't seen yet" Jason said to Hikari. "Wait there's a Gym here?" Hikari said, with a grin on her face. "Yeah, that white haired beauty, might be the only woman i've seen that's more beautiful than you" he said laughing, trying not to create any uneasy tension.
Hikari ignored the tension as she sprung with her question "White Hair? What's a member of the elite four doing as a gym leader?" she asked as Jason shook his head. "You'll understand when you battle her, if I didn't have Camerupt I probably wouldn't have won" He said, acknowledging her strength. "Wait, you beat a member of the elite four?" Hikari said, this day was just full of surprises. "No no, she's not a member of the elite four, just battle her, you'll understand" Jason said, as Hikari was just getting more confused every time he said that.
"So she has white hair, but not a member of the elite four" Hikari thought to herself. "But the elite four member said to be around here has white hair" Hikari didn't know what was going on, but there was only one way to find out. "Alright Jason, which way to the gym?" she asked with ambition in her eyes.
