Chapter 15

Jesus

I sit in front of the hospital lost in my own thoughts when I feel someone sit next to me.

"What are you doing out here I thought you'd be up there seeing Kaylie?" Mariana asks I look over at her and sigh.

"I couldn't do it" she looks over at me confused.

"What? Why not?"

"Because I just can't see her like I just can't face her knowing it's my fault" I say as I push my hand through my hair. Mariana puts her arm around my shoulders.

"It's not your fault this happened Jesus nobody would think this would happen" I just sit there quiet for a while when I hear footsteps approach us we look up and see Brandon.

"Hey how is she?" I ask.

"You should go see for yourself she's asking for you" I sigh and shake my head.

"I can't"

"Why not that's your best friend and she wants to see you why can't you just go up there and see her?" He questions. I turn my head and look down.

"I just can't right now Brandon just…..just tell her I'm sorry"

"You should tell her yourself" He says and I hear his footsteps walk away. I sigh and I feel Mariana wrap her arms around me.

"It's ok Jesus you should see her only when you're ready and not when everyone is making you" I nod and hug her back.

"Thanks Mariana"

"No problem, you know I always have your back" she says and we sit out there for a few more minutes before Callie, Jude, Brandon, Kyle and Lena walk out.

"Come on Mariana, Jesus we're heading home" we stand up and head to the car the drive home everyone was quiet and I was dying to get out of the car.

We finally get home and we all get out the car.

"Kyle you can sleep down here on the couch I'll get you some pillows and blankets" Lena says as Brandon, Callie, Jude and go upstairs. Kyle nods and my mom goes to get the pillows and blankets.

"Hey Kyle are you ok?" I ask and he looks over at me as he stands near the door way.

"I want you to leave my sister only and then I'll be ok" he turns away and sits on the couch as my mom walks back in.

"Ok here you good Kyle will you be ok down here?" she asks and he nods and put the blankets on the couch. My mom turns to me and walks over to me.

"Jesus are you alright?" I look at her in a daze as I think about what Kyle says and he glances at me.

"Yeah mom I'm fine I'm going to go lay down" she nods and I head up the steps to my room I walk in and close my door back. Jude was on his side and I laid on my bed and look up at my ceiling. I feel terrible about what happened but Kaylie is my best friend and I have to see her and I will but when I'm need to face her….

Kaylie

I didn't dream of anything while sleep it was just blank and I could feel the pain creeping up again and it was worst then the first time I woke up. I groan a little as try to move a bit I move my hand but I feel someone's hand on mine. I open my eyes and blink a few times I turn to my left and see a face I didn't expect to see.

"Hey"

"Hey what are you doing here?" I ask and he laughs a bit.

"Well I came to see you that's what you do when your friends get hurt" I laugh a bit and he smiles.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean it like that I'm just surprised to see you that's all" he nods.

"I understand…how are you feeling?"

"Well I'm in a lot of pain and I hope the nurse or doctor comes back soon I can't move anything"

"Do you want me to call them in?" I shake my head.

"No I'm fine….what time is it?" he looks at his watch.

"2:15 in the morning" I look at him shocked.

"What are you doing here this late Antonio?" he smiles at me again.

"I told you I wanted to see that you where alright" I smile at him and nod I see something by him that catches my eye.

"Oh I stopped and got you some balloons and flowers and this" he says and he holds up a stuffed bear and he had a message that said 'Get Well Soon Kaylie'.

"Aww thank you Antonio I love it" He hands me the bear and I sit it next to me.

"You're welcome" I move myself a little and the pain becomes unbearable.

"I'm going to call the nurse" he says as he gets up and walks out the room. I close my eyes back and I hear his footsteps and I feel him grab my hand. I open my eyes and look back over at him. The nurse comes in.

"Ok Miss Alvarez this should help the pain it'll make you go back to sleep but that's a good thing your body needs rest to recuperate" I nod at her as she walks back out after she finished putting my medicine.

"You feel better?" Antonio asks and I nod.

"Yeah I'm feeling better now…..You know Antonio you don't have to stay here all night I'm sure you have better things to do?" he shakes his head.

"No I don't nothing is more important then being here with you" I smile at him and I could feel my eyes getting heavy.

"Antonio you don't-"

"I know Kaylie but I want to I already told I'm not going anywhere now go to sleep I'll be here when you wake up" he says as he pushes my hair out of my face and kisses my forehead. I nod as my eyes close and I start to drift to sleep and I feel this sense of peace knowing that Antonio was going to be here. As I slipped into a peaceful dream I couldn't help but think about Antonio and how amazing he was being.
