Chapter twenty two-I am not sick!
Since what had happened between them that night in the stables, Zero always avoid himself from look at Kaname every time he need to guard the night class during the exchange class between the day class students and night class students. When he realize that Kaname look at him, he will walk to Ichiru and talk to him. It's not bad because his relationship with Ichiru actually became much better after Chairman Cross force them to eat dinner together in his private quarters a few days ago.
What he can't forget is when Ichiru cook his favorite food, vegetable soup. He never know that Ichiru is still remember his favorite food. He thinks Ichiru really hates him after what had happened between them before. Especially after Shizuka Hio's death.
"Actually, you want to avoid him, don't you?" say Ichiru with a smirked when Zero lean on the tree beside him. He move a little so he can stand close at Zero side. He put his right elbow on Zero's shoulder. He can hear a few girls' creams excited when he does that. He smirked. He just want to show some public affection when he was with Zero.
"What are you talking about? Why must I avoid that bloodsucker?" Zero while he glance at Yuuki who struggle to keep the crazy fan girls in line.
"I don't know. But you know… he looks over here. Did you guys arguing?" ask Ichiru when he saw Kaname stare at them. He smirked. He know that Kaname don't like him.
"It's not a first time if we arguing with each other. We hate each other anyway. So of course," say Zero even though his heart beat so hard when he hear that. Kaname look at him? Zero still remember clearly what had happen that night. Every words Kaname says still clear in his mind.
Ichiru just smile and then he hug Zero's waist with his right hand. The day class students who saw this screams crazily. Zero and Ichiru look good together and they were so alike when they stand close with each other. Especially their silver hair.
Zero doesn't push Ichiru away. He just used to it when they were young, Ichiru always hug and kiss him and every night, Ichiru will sneak into his room so they can sleep together. They was a twin, so it just feel right even if they so close with each other.
Aidou pouted when he saw Kiryuu twin stole his fans. He glare at Zero and Ichiru. It is not fair! That's my fans! Aidou just scream in his mind.
Kaname clench his teeth when he saw that. He doesn't know why but he don't like it when he saw Ichiru hug Zero in public. What bother him the most is Zero. Zero don't push Ichiru away when his twin hug him. He give Ichiru a death glare before he look away.
"You know what, he glare at me. Me mad at me or what?" Ichiru confused.
Zero just silent. He don't say anything. Ichiru must misinterpret that. Kaname don't glare at Ichiru but he glare at him. "Ichiru, let's go. I am tired and hungry." He takes Ichiru's hand and walk away from there. Yeah, he really tired with this game. He tired of being Kaname's chess pieces. Why can't he find some place that have no pureblood vampire so he can live in peace?
Kaname glance at Zero who walk away with Ichiru. He sighed slowly so nobody can hear that.
Zero clog the food into his mouth greedily when they enter the Chairman Cross kitchen. He don't stay in his dorm for a while. He feel more comfortable in this house. The beef steak that Chairman Cross cooks that afternoon he stuffed it all to his mouth.
Ichiru look at Zero in awe when he saw that. Wow, he never know that Zero can eat that much. He never saw Zero eat that much when they live together 4 years ago. And Zero is not a type to eat that much because he love to cooks and not to eat.
"Are you okay, Zero?" ask Ichiru. He know there is something wrong with Zero, that's why Zero don't behave like himself. He pull the chair and sit in front of Zero. Three dirty plate he push away from there.
"Of course I am okay. Why you asked that?" ask Zero while he bite an apple that he got from the basket on the table. He glance at Ichiru but his left hand tries to grab another apple from the basket.
When Ichiru saw that, he push the fruits basket away from Zero.
"Hey!" yell Zero when he can't get another apple.
"You already eat too much, Zero. What the hell is going on with you? This is just not like you. Are you sick? I hear from Chairman Cross and Yuuki that you are kidnapped before. What did he do to you?" ask Ichiru. He really worried even though he still has hatred toward his twin brother.
Although he was very close to Zero as a child, he eventually became jealous because of how Zero could be healthy and normal while he couldn't. Though professing to both love and hate Zero upon different occasions, Ichiru didn't always appear to know his own mind when it came to his twin but his actions indicated that in whatever way, Zero was incredibly important to him. The only other person who was just as important to him in his life was Shizuka Hio who he swear to revenge her death soon.
Zero throws the apple away. How can he answer that when he never know the answer himself. He sighed and rubs his head roughly. He feel so stress. Why must his life full of problems?
"How many times should I tell you that I am fine? I don't know what he had done to me. And I hope he kill me instead rather than kidnapping me. I really want to die right now." Zero feel so stress and he almost yell at Ichiru. He stare at Ichiru when he suddenly remember something. He grab Ichiru's hand tightly. "You hate me right? Even though you are kind to me right now, in your heart, you still hate me because of Shizuka Hio's death, don't you?" ask Zero. He stare at Ichiru with his wide lilac eyes.
Ichiru startled when he hear that. He just silent and stare back at Zero. Should he answer that?
"If I say yes, what will you do?" ask Ichiru slowly.
"Then kill me! If you hate me, please kill me. Kill me," yell Zero. He release Ichiru's hand and he leaning against the chair. He feel so stress until he doesn't know what he had said. What he know, its feels so hard to live when you know that there is someone out there who hate you. Why must he be so sensitive lately?
"Are you crazy? I will never kill you, Zero. I will never kill you and I will never let you die. I don't want you to die even though I hate you," says Ichiru. He stand up and walk closer to Zero before he hug him tightly.
Zero stay still and he don't say anything. He just let Ichiru hug him because its feel so comfortable in his hug. When the last time he had a hug like this? He can't remember. Just a few minutes later, Zero falls asleep in Ichiru's hug. Ichiru just smile and he take Zero bridal-style to bring him to his room upstairs. He put Zero on the bed and he sit at his side. He touch Zero's hair gently. This is the first time he saw Zero depressed like this. Before, Zero was the strongest one between them. Now, he feels like they had changed that. Maybe because of Shizuka Hio's blood in his body that makes him stronger than before. And he know, Zero slowly had fallen because he could not drinks Shizuka Hio's blood that night.
"Sleep well, Zero." Ichiru kiss Zero forehead before he go out. His room is next to Zero so he can came and check on him later.
Yuuki walk through the forest and lake just like usual that night when she done her patrol duties. She sighed when she don't saw Zero that night. Did Zero skip his duty again? Yuki walk to the stables. Zero always take a nap there when he skip his class or duties. Suddenly she saw someone and she smile when she saw Zero on the tree.
"Zero, there you are. I thought you skip your duties again." Yuuki shouted from under the tree. When Zero turn round, she startled when she mistook Ichiru for Zero.
"Hai, Yuuki. Sorry, I am not Zero," say Ichiru with a smile. He jump from the tree and stand next to Yuuki.
"Err… Ichiru. I thought you are Zero. Sorry. What are you doing here? Where is Zero? Did you see him?" ask Yuuki a little bit uncomfortable with Ichiru because of what he had done to Zero before. But she feel relieve and happy when she saw Zero and Ichiru now is closer. If she doesn't know the truth of their relationship before, maybe she will screams like Zero's stupid fan club every time they saw Zero with Ichiru together.
Ichiru just smile widely. "Oh, Zero is not here. He don't feel well so I told him to stay and sleep in his room. And because he don't want you to do the patrol on your own, I volunteer myself to replace him tonight," says Ichiru. He glance at Yuuki for a while.
"Zero is not feeling well? Is he is sick?" ask Yuuki worried. After what had happened to Zero before, she always worried if she hear that Zero is sick. She look at Ichiru with her big brown eyes fringed with red so deeply.
"No, he is not sick. He just lack of sleep and he is tired," say Ichiru while he stroke his silver hair.
Yuuki look at Ichiru with awe. Zero and Ichiru are just alike. Every move and how their body language worked, it just too similar. They really is a twin.
"Oh, I will go and check on him later. Did you finish your round yet?" ask Yuuki.
"Yeah. I thought I want to say here for a while before I go back to chairman house. I want to cook something for Zero. He must be hungry," say Ichiru with a big fat smile. But he don't tell Yuuki about Zero behavior lately. He want to cook something for Zero because he know that Zero will wake up and looking for food later. His twin really eat a lot lately.
"You just like Zero. Both of you loves to cook." Yuuki smile when she thinks of that. It would be good if she had a sibling. She sighed. Just if she was not an adopted daughter for Chairman Cross, maybe she will have a sibling.
"But my cook can't win against Zero's cook. Did you finish your round?" ask Ichiru, change the subject. It feel so awkward to talk about he and Zero with Yuuki.
"Yeah, I am finish already. I am on my way to go home and I thought I want to check if Zero is here or not." Yuuki nodded her head.
"So… you want to go back together?" ask Ichiru. He walk away without waiting for Yuuki's answer. He know that Yuuki will tailing him from behind.
"If you want us to go back together, you should wait for me," say Yuuki while she runs to follow Ichiru's long step. She sighed. Zero and Ichiru just so alike. Maybe she should handle Ichiru just like how she handle Zero? Hmm….
Ichiru just laughed when he saw Yuuki run for him. This girl is easier to bully. After they arrived at Chairman Cross private quarters, Yuuki go to Zero's room to check on him but she saw that Zero is still sleeping. So she goes back to Ichiru in the kitchen.
"Zero is still sleeping," say Yuuki while she pull the chair and sit in front of Ichiru.
"Really, maybe he is too tired. It's still early so, just let him sleep for a while. He will wake up if he is hungry. I want to cook something for him so he can eat after he woke up. Want to help me?" Ichiru smile a little.
Yuuki beam brightly. "I really want to learn how to cook Zero's favorite food. Teach me!"
"Okay. Now, peel the onion and cut the vegetables." Ichiru gives an instruction. He teaches Yuuki how to peel the onion and cut the vegetables correctly. And Zero is the one who teach him how to cook when their parent always left them at home because of their work.
Yuuki give Ichiru a really big smile. It's easier when Ichiru teach her instead of Zero because Zero will scold her and smack her head if she messed up. "You are great, Ichiru," praise Yuuki.
Ichiru just smile. Almost an hour later, they finish the cook. Yuuki feels really happy now because she can cook Zero's favorite foods. And for Ichiru, he feels a little bit tired. Yuuki always messed up. No wonder Zero say Yuuki is a terrible cooker.
Just as he thought, that night Zero has wake up and looking for food in the kitchen. It's not really the night because it's already 2 in the morning. Everyone in that house is already sleeping. After he finish the food that Ichiru cook for him, Zero go back to sleep in his room. He just wake up that morning after the alarm clock in his room ringing so loudly.
"Morning, Zero," greet Ichiru once Zero open his eyes. Zero almost punch Ichiru's face when he open his eyes and saw Ichiru's face close to him.
"Don't startle me like that," Zero complaining. He strokes his hair lazily while he glance at Ichiru. "Morning. Why did you sneak in to my room?" ask Zero.
Ichiru smiles. "Nothing. Just feels like to do it. It's been so long since the last time I sleep with you. I miss it." He frowned when he look at Zero's face. Zero seem off today.
Zero just stare at Ichiru before he wake up. "Let's wake up and get ready to go to school. If we late, we can't eat breakfast," say Zero before he wake up, grab the towel and enter the bathroom. He slam the door.
Ichiru sighed. He already wear his day class uniform before he sneak into Zero's room. He just worried of his twin. Especially when Zero look pale. He knows that Zero had a pale skin but, today he looks paler than usual. He then get out from Zero's room and go to the kitchen when he hear Chairman Cross voice.
"Ichiru-kun, did Zero wake up?" ask Chairman Cross when he saw Ichiru enter the kitchen. He already make the breakfast. Just waiting for Zero and Ichiru to join him and Yuuki.
"Yeah, he will come shortly," say Ichiru while he get his seat. He sit in front of Yuuki while the chairman sit next to Yuuki. He glance at Yuuki who pour the milk on his glass. "Thanks," say Ichiru when Yuuki give him the glass.
Just a few minutes later, Zero come to join them. He sit lazily next to Ichiru and grab the glass of milk. Then he stuffs the toast into his mouth. When he realize everyone look at him, he stop all his act. "What?" ask Zero.
"You look pale, Zero. Are you okay?" ask Yuuki with concern.
Ichiru sighed. Look, it's not just him who realize it. Yuuki and Chairman Cross also can see that Zero is not well.
"Of course that I am okay. Why you ask that stupid question. And, my skin is pale since you saw me for the first time. What the different?" Zero growled. Can't they see that he is fine. This is his body. Of course he will know if he is sick, right?
"You are not okay Zero. I told you already that you are not in good condition." Ichiru interrupt. He know that sometimes, Zero can be really stubborn.
"And how many times should I tell you that I am okay? I am not sick!" yell Zero before he quickly stand up and walk out from that house. Everyone is so annoying. Just because he is sick and bed ridden for a while before, it's not mean that he is weak. He never get sick before. When he thinks about it, only Ichiru will get sick easily when they were kids because he has a weak body. Did Ichiru get sick nowadays? He never ask about that. He remember that Ichiru had said that he drinks Shizuka Hio's bloods when he was with that pureblood. So, Ichiru no longer weak, right?
Just when he thinks about it, suddenly he feel dizzy and his surrounding is swirling and his views turn to black. He lost his consciousness and fall to the ground.
"Zero, wait up!" scream Yuuki and Ichiru while they both run to get Zero. Just when they about to get him, suddenly they saw Zero fainted and almost fall to the ground. "Zero!" Ichiru run more faster to caught Zero's bodies before he fall to the ground.
