Finally…. I take almost one month to finish this chapter. I need to write it and then check its grammar. But still… I don't think I made any progress. I got a serious illness for the writer and it is not a writer block but laziness. I was too lazy to update my story but… you guys reviews make me want to finish this chapter and update soon. This chapter is a little bit longer than another chapter before because some of you guys want me to write it longer so this it is. And here… I want to say that I'm sorry for my poor and bad grammar (I don't know how many time I have to say this). I don't have a beta so you guys need to deal with it until I found one. Once again sorry. So for now, enjoy the chapter.
Chapter twenty eight – the fever…
Kaname spend all his time I his room. Takuma doesn't know what he do in there. He walk to Kaname's room when Kaname don't step out from his room that day. He sighed slowly. He hates it if he had to disturb Kaname but… he can't let Kaname stay in that room any longer. Everybody is worried about him. Takuma knocked the door slowly until he hear Kaname's voice.
"Get in," say Kaname from inside the closed door.
Takuma walk in slowly while he brings Kaname's lunch in his left hand. "What are you doing Kaname? Are you busy of something?" ask Takuma with concern. He put Kaname's lunch on the table when he saw Kaname lying on his couch while reading some old book.
Kaname put the book down on his side and he look at Takuma with a little smile.
"No, it's nothing. I just got distracted with my reading. This is a good book," say Kaname while he grab his blood wine.
"Are you sure?" ask Takuma.
"Yeah. I am very sure." Kaname take some french fries and eat it. He's not that hungry but because Takuma had brought him his lunch, he better appreciate it. "How's Kiryuu?" ask Kaname. He suddenly remember that he don't go meet Zero after that night. Err… yesterday night.
Takuma just smile. "As your guess, he's in his room all day."
"Did you bring him his food?" ask Kaname with concern. He doesn't want Zero to starving. Especially now when Zero is pregnant with his child. How's good it sound for him. His child. He loves it. Now, he just need to make sure Zero don't do anything stupid.
"Yeah, I am already brought him his food. He doesn't want to show himself to anyone. I convince him to go down at lunch time but he said that, he don't want the vampires slice his throat alive," say Takuma with chuckled. Zero is so cute with his own way.
Kaname just smile. "It's okay. I will bring him down at dinner. I will make everybody accept him." Kaname said slowly while he grabs his book at read on it. Takuma just sighed and excuses himself. Kaname use his telekinetic power to lock the door shut. He look at the content of the book that he read and he smile widely. Now he know the mystery of Zero's pregnancy. He now know how Zero can get pregnant and why Zero is so horny that night when they have had sex. He was so sure that Zero is pregnant with his child. What's now is… he need to find Zero's kidnapper. Know he know why Zero is kidnapped so easily that night. It's easy to kidnap Zero if his kidnapper is a pureblood vampire. Now, he just need to list down all the pureblood vampires that he knows around here.
That night, like what he promise, Kaname had knock Zero's room door. He want to just enter the room but he know that act will make Zero more furious. He just wait outside until he hear Zero's voice.
"What you want Kuran?" ask Zero who just walk out from the bathroom. He doesn't open the door even though he know it was Kaname outside.
"It's dinner time. I had promise the other that I will bring you down at dinner. So, get out from your room," say Kaname slowly.
"Why don't you ask me first?" ask Zero while he open the door to Kaname. "Don't make any decision for me, Kuran," say Zero when he walk back into the room. He just let Kaname walk in. He put the towel around his shoulder because his hair is wet.
"I just do what the best for you, Kiryuu. Now, get ready," say Kaname and he sit on the bed. He just glances at Zero who take off his shirt without pay any attention to him. Kaname amused with what he saw. He really want to touch Zero's snowy-white skin. It's been awhile since he last touches it. Zero's body is so sexy. And he knows, it few months, that sexy body will have a bump on it. A good bump.
"What are you looking at perverted pureblood? Can you move from there? I want to get out," say Zero when he look at Kaname. His face a little blushed when he realize what Kaname looking at. His body. How can he forget that he is pregnant now? Oh, shit!
Kaname just smile. They walk together to the dining room. Everyone bowed at Kaname when they saw that pureblood enter the room and they just glare or glance at Zero when they saw Zero walk behind him. Kaname sit at his seat and Zero freeze on the way because he don't know where he should sit in there. The room that full of vampires. What's he thinking when he make a decision to follow Kaname to this place? Zero sighed.
"Kiryuu, you will sit here," say Kaname while he point the empty seat next to him.
Zero frowned but he doesn't say anything. He realizes that all the vampires in that room had glare and stare at him when Kaname say where he seat is. He walk slowly and glare back at all the vampires. He doesn't scare at them. His Bloody Rose is always in his jacket pocket if he need it. He take his seat that was between Kaname and Takuma awkwardly. He grind his teeth. He won't let anyone insult him. He put on his sullen face as usual.
"You guys, this is the first time he join us in here. I guess, there is no need for me to introduce all of you to this guy. I am sure that you guys already know who he is," say Kaname before anyone can open their mouth. "As all of you can guess, started yesterday, Zero Kiryuu will stay in Moon Dormitory with us. He also will join us in night class as student. What I want here is, I want you guys to treat him nicely. I don't want any of you pick a fight with him. If I know any of you did, you will be punished by me personally. You copy that," say Kaname more to an order to all night class students in that dining room.
"Yes, Kaname-sama." Everyone just nodded with Kaname's order. They know that they can't deny their pureblood leader order. Even if they hate Zero, they can't do anything to him. So the best way is, ignore Zero Kiryuu existent in that dormitory.
"Good, now… please enjoy the meal," say Kaname with a little smile.
Zero just scowl when he hear what Kaname said to them. Huh, don't think I will believe your word! Zero look away. He doesn't know where to look at. If he turn left, he will saw Takuma's bright smile face and if he turn right, he will saw Kaname's indifferent face. So… where should he look at? Just a few second later, the table in front of him is full with all kind of foods. Zero is mesmerize when he saw all that foods. Now he is hungry.
"Wow, there are a lot of foods. I want to eat it all," say Zero excited. He almost forgot about all night class students around him. He smile widely. He don't eat much lately and since he came here, Takuma always bring his food to his room so he can't eat that much. He smile widely. Zero can feel that his mouth is watery. And if he open his mouth right now, he's sure that his drool will go down like a waterfall.
All the night class is fascinate and mesmerize when they saw Zero's smile. Is this really the perfect, Zero Kiryuu that they know before? He looks like a different person.
Kaname cough a little. He likes to see Zero's smile but… he hates it if other people beside him look at that smile. Zero's smile is just for him. Okay… that sounds possessive. Kaname sighed a little. He look at Zero for a while. "Okay, Kiryuu… what food did you like?" ask Kaname as a host. Yeah, right. He just want to be a host for Zero.
Zero look at Kaname a little bit hesitate.
"Just name it. Anything," say Kaname again.
"Anything? Okay. I want that beef steak, fish and chips, omelet, roasted chicken, that chocolate muffins, grilled chicken, miso soup, lasagna and tuna salad, please," say Zero with a wide smile.
Kaname and the rest of night class student startled when they hear what Zero want to eat. That much?! Did Zero really want to eat that much? They don't know that Zero have a huge appetite. Suddenly they think of something. Actually, only Kaname and his inner circles who think of it. Pregnancy crave. Zero want to eat all of that because he is pregnant.
"Oh, okay. Just wait a minutes," say Kaname while he give an instruction to a few maid there to get that food for Zero. After a few minutes, they bring all that food to Zero and Zero eats all of it happily.
"Kuran, you should eat this lasagna and this roasted chicken. It's so good," say Zero happily while he bring his fork with a little bit of lasagna to Kaname's mouth. A few seconds later, he froze when he realize what he had done. He stuff the lasagna into his mouth quickly. "Y-you should try it. It's good. You too Takuma-senpai," mumble Zero with a red face but they all can hear it clearly. It doesn't take too long for Zero to finish his meal. After he finishes it, he leans on the chair contently.
"Did you enjoy the food?" ask Kaname with a little smile.
"Yeah. I like it. Your chef sure knows how to cook a good stuff. I am tired of Chairman Cross food," sighed Zero while he stroke his full stomach gently.
"I am glad to hear that. Did you want anything for desert?" ask Kaname.
"Desert? Did you have an ice-cream?" ask Zero slowly.
"Of course we have it," say Kaname.
Zero smile widely. "I want a chocolate ice-cream mix with rainbow ice-cream, vanilla flavor ice-cream and yam flavor ice-cream. For the topping, I want nuts, chocolate rice and raspberry. Also… I will have a mango pudding, roasted dumplings, and red velvet cakes." Zero hate sweets but he don't know why he want to eat all that stuff so much. Did all of this happen because of his pregnancy? He don't really sure.
"Are you sure you can eat all of that?" ask Kaname a little bit worried.
"Don't worry, I still have an empty spot for the desserts," say Zero with a wide smile.
All the night class student sweat drop when they hear that. Is this really Zero Kiryuu that they know? When they think about it, did Zero smile in front of them before? No! Definitely not! Did Zero Kiryuu's going crazy? Yes, maybe that's the answer. Maybe two days in the Moon Dormitory makes Zero Kiryuu crazy.
That Monday afternoon (in human time) as usual, Takuma is the first one wakes up from his sleep. But, because of Zero is in that dorm, Takuma is in the second place that wakes up from his sleep. As usual, Takuma will walk around the floor while reading his manga. But, when he walk close to Kaname's room, he hear something. A sounds like somebody in pain. When he walk closer, he hear the noise in Zero's room. The noise not too loud. Just someone close by can hear it.
"Kiryuu-kun?" Takuma knock the door hesitantly. Did he hear it wrong? "Are you okay, Kiryuu-kun?" ask Takuma with concern. He already promises Kaname that he will take care of Zero if Kaname is not around. He hear that noise again. Takuma frowned. Should he open the door? Or maybe he should inform Kaname about it? No, he should open the door and confirm it first or Kaname will kill him because he disturbs his sleep.
Hesitantly, Takuma open the door to Zero's room because the door is not locked. The room is a little bit dark because of his curtain is down. But because of his vampire ability, he can see just fine in the dark. He look at the bed when he saw no one in that room. He sighed a little when he saw Zero on the bed. He walk closer. He don't saw Zero there but he know that Zero is under the blanket. Shivering.
"Are you okay, Kiryuu-kun?" ask Takuma slowly.
"I don't know. Maybe yes, maybe not," say Zero with a husky voice. He still doesn't move from his spot under the blanket. He even doesn't peek to look at Takuma.
Takuma sighed. He walk to Zero's side and he pull the blanket down slowly. He's a little bit startled to look at Zero's condition. His face is a little bit red and when he put his hand at Zero's forehead, he feels Zero's skin is so hot. Fever. Zero is having a fever! What should he do? He never deal with sick person before. Expect Maria Kurenai before. Maybe some of Maria Kurenai's medicine can be use for a while.
"You are so hot. You are running a fever. Kiryuu-kun, just stay here for a while. I will get you some medicine," say Takuma a little nervous.
Zero snorted. "I can't run even if I want to in this condition," say Zero and he pull the blanket to cover his entire body back. Because of the fever, he feels so cold even though Takuma say that his body is so hot.
Takuma walk slowly to the kitchen to take Maria Kurenai's medicine that he has put in there before. He hope that nobody throws it away. And maybe after this, he will request to Kaname that they need a first aid box. Maybe they will need it after this. After few minutes, he comes back with the medicine. He put the medicine on the table. He also bring with him one bottle of mineral water.
"You need to eat this," say Takuma softly. He smile brightly.
Zero glance at Takuma for awhile before he take the medicine. He eyed the medicine first before he eat it. "What are you? My mom?" Zero snorted before lay down once again on his bed. He feels really sick. He never feels sick like this. Maybe this is pregnancy symptoms? He hates it.
Takuma just smile. He walk out from that room and walk to Kaname's room next door. He need to inform Kaname about Zero condition or Kaname will get mad at him. He knocks the door slowly. Will Kaname get mad at him because he disturbs Kaname's sleep? He hopes not.
"What you want Takuma?" ask Kaname slowly.
"Kaname, I need to tell you something. Can I get in?" ask Takuma. He don't want to talk to Kaname like this. Just a few minutes later, he hears Kaname's room door unlock so he push the door open. "What you want?" that's Kaname's first question when he saw him.
"I want to talk about Kiryuu-kun," say Takuma slowly. He don't know whether Kaname's care to Zero or not. Base on Kaname's behavior, he's sure that Kaname is really caring about Zero. He is the observer so he know it without Kaname told him. Besides, he is Kaname's childhood friend.
"What about him?" ask Kaname a little bit concern when he hear Takuma said Zero's name. He tries to relax. Don't be nervous!
"Kiryuu-kun has a fever. I just check on him and I give him a medicine. So, I want to tell you because Chairman Cross put Zero under your care. It's mean that you are his guardian when he stay here," say Takuma calmly. There's still a smile on his lips.
"Fever? Is it worse?" ask Kaname. Now he's nervous. What should he do? Never once in his life he deals with a sick person. Maybe he should call the doctor to check on Zero this evening.
"I don't know. This is the first time I deal with a sick person so I don't know how worse he is. Maybe you should ask him by yourself," say Takuma.
"Okay, I will ask him by myself. Thank you, Takuma," say Kaname with a little smile.
"It's no big deal. You are my friend and my master," say Takuma with a smile before he get out from Kaname's room.
Kaname enter Zero's room slowly. When he saw Zero on the bed, he close the door quietly before he walk closer to Zero's bed. He smile a little when he saw Zero close his eyes. He sit on his bed and suddenly Zero open his eyes and look at Kaname straight to his eyes. Kaname a little bit startled but he put his indifferent mask.
"Takuma told me that you got a fever. Are you okay?" ask Kaname. He knows that was a stupid question but… he still want to ask it. Is Zero okay?
"I don't know. My head, bodies… everything is hurt. I'm never getting sick like this. I feel dizzy," say Zero with a hoarse throat.
"How can you get a fever? Maybe, it's because of you eat too much last night," say Kaname guessing. He smile a little. Should he tell Chairman Cross that Zero is sick? No, he should not. If he tell, Yagari Touga will come here to check on Zero's condition. And maybe, he will suggest that Zero much comeback home with him to Chairman Cross private quarters.
"No. It's not a food fault. If it's because of food, I will get a stomachache, not a fever, stupid." Zero pouted cutely. It's not his attention but… he doesn't know why he can't control his emotion right now. Maybe, it's because of the fever. Yeah, it's all fevers fault.
"Yeah, yeah, whatever you say, Zero," say Kaname using Zero first name jokingly. "You want anything?" ask Kaname while he put his forehead to Zero's forehead. He want to test how hot Zero is.
"It's fine. I just want to sleep," say Zero sleepily. He just eats a medicine so he feels a little bit drowsy.
"Are you sure?" ask Kaname once again.
"Yeah, I am sure. I just want to sleep and you're pretty comfort yourself," say Zero with a sighed while his eyes is still closed. He grabs Kaname's hand slowly. "People are warm when they are alive. So… what should we describe our self? We are a vampire. We don't die and we are not alive either," mumble Zero before he sleep.
Kaname smile a little. He tighter the hold to Zero's hand. "You are alive Zero. We are alive because our heart is still beating even though our skin is a little bit cold than the human being," say Kaname slower. He plant a kiss at Zero forehead before he get out from that room.
A few hours later, Kaname come to Zero's room with Takuma and Aidou behind him. Aidou actually don't want to come but Takuma drag him there. Kaname open the door slowly and enter the dark room. Zero open his eyes when he sense a vampire around him. He sighed a little when he saw Kaname, Takuma and Aidou there. Zero pull his blanket a little. Don't comfortable when Kaname saw his sick like this.
"How are you, Kiryuu?" ask Kaname.
"Fine, I guess," say Zero. He already feel healthy after he asleep.
"I will call a doctor to check on you," say Kaname again.
"No, it's fine. It's just a fever," Zero pouted a little. His face a little bit flushed. "What's time now?" ask Zero. It must be pretty late because Aidou already awake and they all already wear their night class clothes.
"It's almost 5 p.m. You need to take a shower," say Kaname
"Later," say Zero lazily. He turns around and make himself comfortable. He still want to sleep. But Kaname grab his shoulder and turn his around so Zero has to face him.
"Have a cold shower and then you can back to your bed." Kaname said coherently. Zero glare at Kaname but Kaname don't give him any room to object. Zero growled slowly.
"Fine," said Zero quickly wake up from his bed and walk to his towel. He slowly unbuttons his shirt and left it on the bed. But when he want to unbutton his pant, he look at Kaname, Takuma and Aidou through his shoulder. "What? You guys want to peek on me?" say Zero sneer. He put his hand on his hips.
All their face flushed when they saw how sexy Zero is. Yeah, they have to admit it that Zero is really attractive even if he was a human before. No human can compete vampire's beauty except Zero Kiryuu. Kaname clear his throat.
"You must quickly take a shower. I will call a doctor to check on you. I need to go to class so, Takuma, Aidou and Kain will take care of you for now," say Kaname while give and order to Takuma and Aidou. Aidou want to object but he can't because Kaname already give him an order.
"I don't need anyone to take care of me!" shout Zero turn around to face Kaname. He glare at Kaname.
"Oh, yes you do," say Kaname.
"You guys will get sick too, you know," Zero tries to make them change their mind. He doesn't need anyone here to take care of himself. Don't they believe him to be alone?
"Sick? What did you think we are? A human? A vampire don't get sick easily." Aidou snarled before Kaname can open his mouth. "Nothing can beat our vampire immune system," say Aidou again. He folded his hand on his chest.
"That's right Kiryuu-kun. We, vampire don't get sick easily except if we were born with a weak body like Maria Kurenai or we get pregnant," say Takuma with a bright smile. Suddenly he realize something. Yeah, pregnant. Zero is pregnant right now so of course he gets sick easily.
Zero keep quiet for awhile when he hear that. Pregnant. He almost forget that he is pregnant. Damn! He turn around and grab the towel to put it on his shoulder.
"I need to go now. I will be back when the doctor come around," say Kaname before he turn around and walk away from that room.
"Huh! I hate him!" shout Zero childishly. "I will go take a shower," say Zero with a blushing face. He slam the door shut quickly.
"Did my eyes fool me? Kiryuu is blushing," say Akatsuki Kain when he enter Zero's room. He still can catch Zero's red face before he enter the bathroom. Aidou and Takuma just smile when they hear Kain's voice. Maybe Zero quickly enter the bathroom because he can feel Kain's presence in his room earlier.
"You come? I was just going to get you," say Aidou.
"Kaname-sama asks me to come here. Why?" ask Kain while he strokes his hair lazily.
"He want us to 'take care' of Kiryuu-kun. Kiryuu-kun have a fever so he can't join us for class tonight. Kaname need to go to class so he need us," say Takuma with a bright smile on his face. They all know what Takuma mean by take care. It's mean they need to protect Zero Kiryuu when Kaname is not here.
Kain sighed loudly as usual. He sits on the couch not far from there. Takuma and Aidou just stand where they stand before. Did they need to baby sit Zero Kiryuu now?
Mean while in the bathroom, Zero almost slip and fall on the floor when he start to feel dizzy. Damn! This is bad. I'm starting to get dizzy. Zero couldn't help it when his knee buckled and he collapsed onto the ground with a thud.
Kiryuu-kun." Zero hear Takuma call his name while he knock the bathroom door loudly. When he don't answer, he hear the bathroom door opened from the outside. Takuma run quickly to Zero's side when he saw Zero on the floor. Without waste any time, he pick Zeros' up bridal style out from the bathroom. It's good that Zero already wear his towel around his waist.
Aidou and Kain also almost panicked when they saw Zero's collapsed in the bathroom. Aidou enter the bathroom after Takuma take Zero out to turn off the water. Meanwhile Kain get the other towel for Zero and Takuma.
"Is he okay?" ask Aidou a little bit worried. He heard Zero whimper and his face a little bit red. Maybe Zero has a worse fever. He checking for any injuries and glad when he don't smell any blood.
"Maybe. I don't know," say Takuma while he tries to dry Zero's hair. Suddenly Zero open his lilac eyes slowly.
"Did any of you have an experience in taking care of sick person?" ask Zero weakly. He hates it when he sound weak but he can't help it. It's not like he want to be sick. It's all damn hormone faults.
"Err… I don't have any experience," say Kain.
"I just take care of Maria Kurenai a little. But still… I don't have much," say Takuma while he rub his neck and grin widely.
Aidou sighed. "I have an experience when I take care of my mother when he pregnant with my sister. He don't get the fever but still… he got another sickness, craving, and much more," say Aidou. It's mean, he is the only one here that know how to take care of a pregnant person. He sighed again. What a trouble he has here.
Zero also sighed. Pregnant? He almost phobia when he hear that word.
"Come, dress yourself," say Takuma with Zero's pajama. Zero glance at the clothes for a while before he walk to his closet and take out a pair of black jeans and soft purple dress. There is no way he will wear that clothes when they are here in his room. Takuma sighed and put the pajamas on the nearest chair.
"Are you okay?" ask Aidou when Zero sit back on his bed. He can't stay still. It's true that he hates Zero but… he still don't like it to see that boy sick.
"I'm fine," say Zero while he glance at Aidou but Aidou just stare at him. He sighed. "Okay, I'm not. Happy now?" say Zero with a mocking tone.
"Not quite," say Aidou.
"Okay, take a rest. We will bring you your breakfast. There is anything you want?" ask Takuma. It's better he interfere before Aidou and Zero fight in here. It would be bad.
"Breakfast?" Zero quite happy when he hear that because he really hungry right now. It's true that he is sick but he still has his appetite. He smiles happily. "I want french toast, pancake and omelet. Oh, and please bring me milk, okay," say Zero.
Aidou just sighed when he walk out from Zero's room with Takuma and Kain. Now he remember. His mother also eats a lot when she is pregnant but… not too much like Zero did. Did male and female have a different sickness when they are pregnant? He doesn't know and he doesn't want to know. This is the first time he hear a male vampire get pregnant. And maybe, it's also will be the last time.
