"What's the Order of the Phoenix, Sirius?" Harry asked his godfather, while standing in the drawing room. "The Order of the Phoenix is Dumbledore's group. It's all of the people who fought against Voldemort the last time. Since Voldemort's back, Dumbledore is going to be using the Order again. Also, since Voldemort's back, it means that he's going to be after you. This means you'll have to be careful, and that it looks like I'll have to teach you more Defense Against the Dark Arts. You'll be having earlier lessons than everybody else, which is a good thing, seeing as you're now in your Fifth Year. You'll be having your O.W.L.s to worry about this year." Sirius explained.
Harry was starting to get excited at the prospect of learning more magic, and more about Defense Against the Dark Arts. "Oh, and another thing Harry," Sirius started saying "the Weasley's will be staying throughout the summer, just to be safe. Besides, Molly and Arthur are in the Order. Also, I might have come up with a solution to your 'Rita Skeeter' situation. You should try blackmailing her. Find out something that no one knows about her, and use it to your advantage." Harry smiled as his summer just got a whole lot better.
He and Sirius went to the kitchen, to eat the food Dobby made for them. Harry had three Steak Fajita burritos, some Spanish Rice, and some spanish drink that tasted amazing. Sirius had Chow Mein, Orange Chicken, Egg Rolls, Crab Rangoons, and some Peking Duck. Harry thought to himself "Sirius must eat a lot, because of the fact that he's an Animagus. They must have bigger stomachs than other people. Either that or Sirius was really hungry." Harry then asked his godfather "Sirius can you teach me to become an Animagus?" Sirius looked at Harry in surprise, and said "I can try, but with all of the Order meetings, and missions I'll be on, it'll be hard to find times to teach you. We'll figure something out though."
They finished their meal, and went to go walk through Diagon Alley. "Sirius when are the Weasley's supposed to be getting here?" Harry asked. "Oh, they are already there. They got there when we left. I left them a note on where to meet us. We'll be seeing them at the Leaky Cauldron for dinner at eight o'clock." They then went to Quality Quidditch Supplies, as Harry needed to get a new Broomstick Servicing Kit for his Firebolt. Some of the twigs were becoming bent, and he needed to polish it. What Harry saw in Quality Quidditch Supplies turned his mood foul, and that was Draco and his father purchasing him a Firebolt.
"Well, look at who it is," Draco drawled "It's Potty. I suppose you like my new broom, Potter?" "Not really, after all, I've had my Firebolt for two years, you follower." Harry retorted with a smile on his face. Draco looked at Harry's face with utmost rage, as his father looked at Harry. "Well, if it isn't Harry Potter." Mr. Malfoy said. "And if it isn't one of Voldemort's followers." Harry shot back. Lucius looked at Harry in anger, then whispered in the young man's ear "It's only a matter of time before the Dark Lord tries to kill you again, Mr. Potter. I'd enjoy these days like they were my last, if I were you." "Oh yeah, well when he comes for me, I'll be ready for him. And take your own advice, Mr. Malfoy. I'm pretty sure one of these days you'll end up chucked into Azkaban."
Lucius got his wand out and pointed it at Harry, but when he did, Sirius already had his wand pointed at Lucius' throat. "I wouldn't do that if I were you, Malfoy." Sirius said threateningly. Lucius then dragged his son out of the shop angrily, as he was shown up in public by Potter and Sirius. Harry and Sirius then smiled at each other, and went back to their shopping. Harry got his Broomstick Servicing Kit, and looked at all the Quidditch Gear in the shop. They then went to Flourish and Blotts, where Sirius bought Harry more books on Defense Against the Dark Arts, a couple of books on how to transform into an Animagus, and even two books on how to teach yourself on how to Apparate. "I'm not old enough to learn to Apparate yet Sirius." Harry said, as they walked out of the bookstore.
"You're not old enough to learn to Apparate legally." Sirius corrected him. "I bought you those books, so when the time came to take your Apparition Test, you could pass it on your first try. Just like your father, Lupin, Pettigrew, and I did. You should've saw the looks on the Ministry officials face, when all four us successfully apparated on our first try. They thought we were naturally gifted Apparators." Harry laughed as Sirius recounted the tale of his Apparition Test. At ten minutes to eight, Harry and Sirius walked to the Leaky Cauldron to meet up with the Weasleys. "Ah, Sirius and young Harry." Mr. Weasley said as the two came through the door. "We have a huge table set up for our dinner. You can't possibly miss it. Now Sirius, may I have a word?" Sirius replied "Of course, Arthur. Harry go sit at the table with the others, I'll be along in a moment."
Harry sat next to Ron, Fred and George. "Hey you guys. It'll be great having you around the house. Sirius is going to give me Defense Against the Dark Arts lessons, and he's going to try to teach me how to become an Animagus." Harry told them. "Blimey Harry, that's awesome. D'you think he'll teach me along with you?" Ron asked. Harry shrugged his shoulders, and replied "I don't know, but I'll ask him." Fred and George then told Harry "We're of age now. We can use magic whenever we want." To demonstrate, Fred apparated over to the bar and got a butterbeer, then disapparated back to his original spot. "That's great you two. Oh, Sirius also bought me these two books so I can teach myself how to apparate. I've got the whole summer to practice."
"It seems like you're going to be having a busy summer, Harry." Ron said with awe on his face. "Yeah it does. D'you know if Hermione is coming over also?" Harry asked Ron. Ron shook his head, then answered "I don't. She hasn't written me a letter since last summer. Then again, it is just the first day of summer, so she's probably enjoying it with her folks, so I wouldn't be too worried." The dinner after all was enjoyable, as tales of joy and jokes were spread throughout the table. The group went back to Number Twelve, Grimmauld Place after dinner, and went straight to bed. The weeks passed during the summer, and Hermione came to Grimmauld Place to stay for the rest of the summer, and Harry had gotten Sirius to teach him, Ron, and Hermione defensive magic.
Harry, however, was teaching himself, Hermione, and Ron how to Apparate. They were quite successful at it, and they each only splinched themselves once. Hermione splinched the tip of her ear, Ron splinched half of his eyebrow, and Harry splinched the nail on his pinky. It took them each a week to heal fully, and went back to Apparition Practice. Harry's Animagus lessons were successful also, and he found out he had an extremely rare ability to become more than one Animagus. So far, he managed to turn into every animal he ever saw or touched, except for a Basilisk and a Cerberus, as he feared he might accidentally hurt or kill somebody like that. When Sirius was on missions for the Order, Harry was teaching Ron and Hermione how to become Animaguses. Ron could become a Jack Russell Terrier like his Patronus with distinguishing white paws and ears with black fur. Hermione could become a lioness with a weird mark on her face that looked strangely like the Hogwarts Crest. "Now that you two are Animaguses," Harry started telling his friends "You guys need to register your Animagus forms to the Ministry of Magic."
Immediately, an argument assumed between the three best friends. "Why do we have to register without you?!" Ron asked. Harry answered "Because people will try to exploit and utilize my ability if they found out I was a Multi-Animagus.. It's the only way I can keep my friends and family safe." "Harry, just tell them one of your Animagus forms, and we wouldn't have this problem." Hermione scolded. The verbal argument lasted ten minutes, and ended with Harry agreeing to register with his two friends. They walked to Mr. Weasley just two days before Harry's fifteenth birthday, and Harry asked him "Mr. Weasley, can you take us to the Ministry of Magic with you tomorrow?" Mr. Weasley blinked and asked in return "Why do you lot want to go to the Ministry tomorrow?" "So we can register as Animaguses dad." Ron put in.
Mr. Weasley looked at the three teens in awe, they haven't even started their fifth year at Hogwarts, and already they've mastered certain parts of magic that not even he has had a hope of achieving. "Alright, I'll take you to the Ministry, but you'll have to wake up early. I leave at about six-thirty, be dressed and have eaten breakfast by six-fifteen, and we'll be ready to go." They all smiled at him, and went for a walk in Muggle London. "I can't believe in just two days, Harry'll be fifteen. I just can't believe how fast the summer is flying by. We have less than two months until we go back to Hogwarts, and I am so not looking forward to our O.W.L.s this year." Ron said. They walked to a park with a few Muggles there, and sat on a bench, when everything quickly went wrong.
It suddenly got really cold, and Harry thought to himself "No, not now. There cannot be Dementors here now. Not with Muggles nearby." One of the Muggles asked aloud "What happened to the light?" Then it happened. Harry, Ron, and Hermione got attacked by four Dementors. Harry whipped out his wand, thought about his life at Grimmauld Place, and yelled "EXPECTO PATRONUM!" His Stag Patronus charged at the Dementors, and sent them away. Harry cursed aloud as he just used magic in front of no less than five Muggles. "We're going back to Grimmauld Place right NOW!" Harry told Hermione and Ron, and the three teens ran back to Number Twelve, and shut the door behind them and went into the kitchen. Mrs. Weasley noticed that all three of them looked deathly pale, and asked them "What happened to you three?"
Harry looked at her and answered "Four dementors attacked us in the Muggle park. There were five Muggles around us, and I had no choice but to cast the Patronus Charm in front of them. We ran here after I sent the Dementors away." After he finished his explanation, a regal looking owl swooped in from the empty fireplace, and dropped a letter on Harry's lap, then left. Harry looked at the letter, and recognized that the letter was from the Ministry of Magic. He opened it, and read the letter, and his insides froze. The letter read:
Dear Mr. Potter,
the Ministry has received intelligence that at five-twenty this evening, you performed the Patronus Charm in the presence of five Muggles. As a clear violation of the Decree for the Restriction of Underage Wizardry, you will have to have a formal hearing in two days time. Hoping you are well,
Mafalda Hopkirk
Harry kept rereading the letter to make sure he wasn't mistaken by the contents it was holding. He placed the letter on the table in front of Mrs. Weasley, and she scooped it up and read it. When she did, she dropped the letter, and her hands went to her mouth. "What's wrong? Why is the Ministry writing to Harry?" Ron asked. Harry answered "I'm having a hearing at the Ministry on my birthday." Harry replied.
