Chapter 6
It was the day that Wally and his uncle along with Hal would be returning to Earth. Wally with help from Razer had gotten the Green Lantern Corp to realize that he may look like Nuallan but he was his own person. Wally had shown Kilowog that he could be a Green Lantern but just in his own way.
"Please accept my apologies for how we had treated you. It was not our intentions to make you feel uncomfortable." Gauntlet told the speedsters.
"It's fine. I must have given you a shock when you first saw me and I admit that I wasn't the best guest when I found about about me being the reincarnation of Nuallan. But thank you for treating me like I was my own person. I can't wait to tell the others that I trained with the Green Lantern Corp. Although I don't think that I will tell then that I am a Green Lantern just yet." Wally told the Green Lanterns that came to say good-bye to their guests.
"That would be good idea, young one. You take care of yourself and don't forget your training. You and your uncle will always be welcomed with us." Gauntlet told the young red headed child.
"Thank you very much. I hope to see you on good terms again." Wally replied as he walked up to Kilowog. "Thanks for the training." Wally said as he held out his hand for the alien to shake when he did.
"You were a good pupil and I am sorry for how I treated you when I though that you were Nuallan." Kilowog said with his version of a sheepish smile.
"Don't worry about it. I now can survive Black Canary's training." Wally replied with his own smile which caused the Rhino/bulldog alien to laugh.
"Wally, come on, you'll miss the ride home." Hal yelled to his 'nephew' as he boarded the ship that would take him and the speedsters home. He was feeling a little jealous that Wally was talking to Kilowog like he was an uncle figure to Wally. But he knew that Kilowog was just being friendly to Wally and trying to make up for the training that he put Wally through.
"I'm coming Uncle Hal. See everyone later." Wally yelled as he waved good bye to his new friends before he headed up the ramp of the ship that would take him home.
The Green Lantern Corps waved good-bye to the humans that they had befriends and praying that Nuallan's reincarnation would not suffer the same fate that Nuallan did at a young age.
The ride home was quiet do to the fact that Barry and Wally were out cold sleeping and snoring. Hal was reading up on Nuallan. Wally looked so much like Nuallan it was scary. Like some of the Lanterns had pointed out, Wally was a spitting image of Nuallan save for lighter skin and had freckles. Wally was Nuallan in persona. Nuallan was kind and not afraid to tell someone where the to put it if he thought they were wrong. Wally was the same way when it came to people on the team and when they did something that they shouldn't have that endangered the team.
Nuallan also came from a bad start in life by being homeless where Wally had been abused by his father for a few years when he was young. Both had overcome their hardships in life and became heroes and in Hal's option, Wally was the heart of the team even if he didn't know it.
About 30 minutes before landing back on Earth, The Speedster woke up. Flash was concerned about what he was going to have to tell the League about Wally where Wally wasn't going to tell the team that he was a Green Lantern until the time was right. Wally wanted to be seen as a Flash and not a Lantern.
"Why don't you just tell Batman about me being an Green Lantern? That way you won't get yelled at by him later for keeping secrets." Wally pointed out with a grin.
Barry slightly glared at his nephew at what he had said about Batman yelling at him for keeping secrets from him.
"What?! It's true." Hal pointed out by getting his two cents in.
Barry glared at his friend more deadly than he did with his nephew. "I know that we have to do that but I don't want the rest of the League finding out." Barry replied as he pulled out his ring that held his costume.
"The League won't as when I'm training Wally on how to use his ring better, we won't even be on Earth and I plan on doing it on week ends or vacations. Also, I think that you had better tell your wife cause you know it will be better if you told her before she used her reporter skills to find out and you both would be in the dog house." Hal said as he veered the ship to the WatchTower.
"Yeah, if we don't tell Auntie Iris than all heck is going to break lose and she would kill us." Wally pointed out knowing his aunt's temper.
Flash shivered at the thought of his wife's losing it on him and Wally. Not a pretty picture.
"So when we get back to Earth, we tell Iris what happened along with Batman." Hal pointed out as he landed the ship into the docking bay.
Wally and Barry nodded their heads in agreement as Wally got his Kid Flash out fit back on. No matter who you were, if you were a hero you were not allowed to be in the WatchTower unless you had your costume on, there were no exceptions no matter who you were.
"How was the trip?" Wonder Woman asked as she watched Hal take all the luggage off of the ship.
"Pretty cool. Learn somethings about the Green Lantern Corp as well as the Blue Lantern Corp." Wally replied with a smile to the Amazon Princess.
"There's a Blue Lantern Corps?" The Princess asked.
"Yeah! Although there are only about ½ a dozen members but one of them used to be a Red Lantern but change with hope since the Blue Lantern get their power from Hope. The one I met reminded me a lot of myself for some reason." Wally replied as The Amazon was one of the few members and people that knew about his past and anger issues he used to have before joining Young Justice.
"Sounds like you had a fun time." The Princess said with a smile.
"Yeah. I got to do some training with Kilowog who is the trainer of the Green Lanterns although he did go easy on me since I didn't have a power ring. Boy, let me tell you that guy could give Batman and Black Canary a run for their money." Wally said as he remembered the training he went through when Kilowog thought he was Nuallan and when he knew that he was wasn't Nuallan.
Wonder Woman smiled as she listened to the favorite of the proteges talk about his time with The Green Lanterns. Diana knew that Wally would have had a good time since Hal was really close to Wally and Flash. So close that Wally thought of Hal as another uncle.
Several hours later,
Flash and Hal had informed Batman what had happened on Oa. To say that Batman was not a happy camper was the u nderstatement of the year. He was pissed.
"You are saying that Kid Flash is now a Green Lantern and is not going to tell the team unless something comes up where is powers are needed." Batman asked/said since Batman always knew the answers to his questions.
Hal gulped. He knew that Batman was pissed off. Like Flash, Batman saw Wally like he saw Robin. "Yeah. Kid's actually the reincarnation of the greatest Green Lantern to ever exist. In fact from the pictures I've seen of Nuallan if it wasn't for the freckles, Wally would be Nuallan." Hal told the bat themed hero.
Batman just glared at the Green Lantern. He was not happy. Hal was known for being somewhat irresponsible but to put Wally in the position he was in was ridiculous.
"Hey, before you even think about blaming Uncle Hal, let's not forget that I was the one who wanted to go to Oa. It took me a few days to get the Green Lanterns and the Gnome guys to let them know that I was not Nuallan. At first I was against the whole idea of reincarnation but something happened and I have come to terms that I could be Nuallan in a past life. I mean if a Red Lantern can atone for his past and become a Blue Lantern which their power come from Hope than I can deal with possibly being someone in past life. The Greens realized that they were treating me like they knew me but it wasn't until Barry let Kilowog have it when I passed out from training did they realized that I wasn't Nuallan but someone that looked like him and they started treating me like I was a rookie Lantern with I was never so thankful for." Kid Flash told Batman when he walked into the room eating a corn dog.
Batman looked at the young Speedster. From what he could see of Wally, the boy looked more relaxed and calmer. It was like a big weight had been lifted off of his shoulders. It looked like that Wally had finally told someone that wasn't family or a member of the Justice League what had happened to him when he was younger.
"Razer, the Blue Lantern that was once a Red Lantern helped me deal with my past. He figured out what my father did to me and got me let go of those negative feelings which once I did the Green Lantern ring started to glow and I got more stronger and was able to use my ring to the fullest power." Wally told the Dark Knight who was looking at him with out any emotions in his face or what you could see of it.
"Look, Bats. It's my choice if I want to be a Lantern or not but I can officially be one until I am 18 as Nuallan was 18 when he join the Green Lantern Corps. He trained for the first 4 years he had his ring. Which is what I plan on doing. I know that you are going to say something but please Bats, don't blame Hal for what happened." Wally pleaded with the Founder that he liked as an uncle.
Batman looked at the red headed speedster. It seemed that his few weeks with the Green Lanterns had made him more mature and responsible.
"I see nothing wrong with what has happened but you will tell the team and League about you being a Green Lantern soon. Also you will have extra training with me to help with your reflexes and instincts." Batman told Wally who nodded his head.
"No problem. Hal was going to teach me more about my ring and how to use it." Wally replied as he left the room.
Once Batman was sure that Wally was out of hearing range, he turned to Hal. "You had better do everything in you power to make sure that Wally does master his ring or so help me you will not like what I have planned for you if something should happen to Wally Because he has a Lantern Ring. Do I make myself clear?" Batman told Hal with a growl to his voice.
Hal couldn't nod his head fast enough. He knew that Batman would keep his word if it involved Wally or Robin being in danger. Plus the pilot would let Batman and Barry do anything to him should he ever let Wally get hurt in anyway while being a Lantern.
Next chapter: Wally takes Razer's advice and tell Artemis how he feels about her and reveals to her that he's a Lantern.
IDEAS ARE WELCOME ANYTIME.
REVIEWS WOULD BE GREAT. THANKS
