Chapter 14

Wally looked up at the ceiling of the room that he was in. It had been almost a week since he and those that stood by him when he revealed that he was a Green Lantern were taken to Odyn, The home the of the Blue Lantern Corps. The room that the young speedster was in was surround by a blue energy shield that blocked the powers of the Red Lantern's Rage. Wally thought back to when he was told what would be happening to him.

Flashback

"You want to do what?" Batman asked already knowing the answer.

"I want to take Wally along with his aunt and uncle as well as the two archer with me to Odyn to help rid himself of the Rage that is within him. I have found that with the help of those that care for you does help you heal." Razer told the Rodent themed hero who was glaring at him. If Batman thought that he could scare him, then Batman had another thing coming. The only human that ever str uck fear into Razer was Hal Jordan which he had done a few times.

"What about the rest of the team?" Batman had to ask knowing the answer that Razer was going to say.

"You really want me to take those that are somewhat the reason why Wally has the power of a Red Lantern to the Home World of the Blue Lantern who I know that a few Blue Lanterns would most likely to hurt them for betraying their friend just because he kept a secret from them to protect them?" Razer replied in a sarcastic tone as he glared at Batman. "I do not think so. I would rather become a Red Lantern again than take those betrayers to Oydn."

Batman smiled in his mind. Despite that Razer was once full of Rage as they said, he really did care for Wally. It really did hurt Batman that he couldn't help Wally deal with what was going on but Razer really was the only one that could help the young speedster heal. Batman was also disgusted with what Robin who had been friends with Wally for so long and had trusted the speedster with who he was under the mask had betrayed Wally.

"Look, I know for a fact that you do not trust me at all. Hell, the Green Lantern Corps may respect me but they sure as hell will never trust me at all. But I want you to understand that I would never do anything to hurt a child even if that child was a hero as you call them on this on this planet." Razer told Batman who was still glaring at him.

"He's telling the truth, Bats. Razer was the one that helped Wally come to terms with what was happening to him on Oa. The Green Lanterns didn't see Wally as they all they saw was Nuallan. Look, I'll be truthful, I really don't trust him fully but he and the other Blue Lanterns are the only hope that we got to help Wally. We have to try." Flash told his friend.

Batman looked at everyone in the room for a moment before he spoke. "I am in agreement for this but Wally does also have say in what goes on. It will be his choice in what he wants to do and none of us can force him to do anything that he does not want to do." Batman replied. He really wanted to help Wally but he would not force the red haired speedster to do something that he did not want to do.

End flashback

Wally woke from his sleep a few hours later and was told of what he could do. Wally knew that he needed help and was willing to do what was needed so that he wasn't a threat to those he loved even if they did betray him by saying those words about him.

Wally was lost in his thoughts that he didn't even hear the door open to reveal Razer and Roy.

"So Wally, how are you doing?" Razer asked. He knew that Wally was still angry for what had happened on Earth but based on what he fanged alien had seen the speedster had calmed down somewhat.

"I've been better." Wally replied as he sat up to talk to Razer who he really did respect because he wasn't seeing him as the Greatest of the Green Lanterns but as a 16 year old kid who was going through hell and trying to find who he was.

"That was what I thought you would say." Razer replied with a smile as he leaned against the wall of the room. The former Red Lantern could see that the young speedster was having a hard time getting rid of the Rage was in his entire body. Hell, it had taken Razer years to get rid of the Rage that he had and even though he was now a Blue Lantern, he still had some rage in him as the Rage would never fully go away but you could control the Rage.

"I can't help but think back to when I first came here and what I did." Wally replied sadly as he looked down at the floor.

Roy walked over to his younger brother and placed a hand on the smaller redhead's shoulder. "Wally, no one is blaming you for what happened." The male archer said in a very comforting voice.

"Not blame me! I made a mountain blow up because I got mad at something stupid and because of that everyone was almost hurt." Wally yelled out.

"But no one was hurt, Young One." Saint Walker said as he came into the room. He knew just by looking into the eyes of the Speedster in front of him that it was going to take a lot longer for Wally to get rid of the Rage that was in him. The leader of the Blue Lanterns knew that everyone who wanted to rid themselves of the Rage they carried would need a different type of training as no one was the same.

"But someone could have been!" Wally replied as he looked at the monk like lantern.

"Wally, I will not even begin to say what I know what you are going through as I have never been a Red Lantern and I will never know but I do want you to know that there will be times when you will lose control of your powers and accidents will happen. The main thing to remember is how you lose control of your Powers. Will they be used for good or evil? So far I have not seen you ever use your powers to hurt or kill anyone. The fight at your Mt. Justice I am not counting. But the point is that even when you use your Red Lantern Powers you have some control of them." The monk softly told the young human in front of him.

Wally looked up at the Monk with hopeful eyes. He was right. He hadn't killed anyone at the moment but he was scared that he would. That was why he needed help in getting rid of or like Razer had said at least getting control of the Rage that was within him. As Wally knew that he would never forgive himself if he had hurt or worse killed someone in a fit of Rage.

Roy put the tray of food on the table beside the bed and gave his little brother a smile before he and Razer left the room. The red haired archer was determined to help Wally heal from what was happening to him as Wally never gave up on him no matter what he did.

Another thing that caused Roy to think about was the fact that Artemis was also helping Wally heal. Artemis who was the daughter of known villains who wanted to be a hero. The same Artemis that Roy had warned not to hurt those that he cared about. Roy thought that it was funny that Artemis who had only been on the team for a few months had stood up for Wally when he needed when the other members of the team who had known Wally for years had not. Maybe Roy needed to think about who he should trust.

"It is not easy to trust someone new when you have only known them for a short time." Saint Walker told the male Archer as he came out of Wally's room.

"It's funny. I thought that Artemis would be the one who would hurt Wally but imagine my surprise that was the ones that who had known Wally for years and who Wally thought of a family." Roy replied to the Blue Lantern. "Hell, I even threaten her if she hurt my friends. Turns out I should have threatened the others. They were the ones that hurt Wally the most and I thought it was funny that Wally knew who Artemis was for such a long time but gave her a chance when I could not."

Saint Walker walked beside Roy. "The best thing that you can do is talk to Artemis and if you want ask for forgiveness. It is her choice to forgive you or not but you will feel better even if she doesn't you will still be at peace."

Roy turned to the monk like alien and gave him a smile. He was right. If Wally could keep Artemis's secret and forgive her, then he should be able to that.

"Thank you for your insight." Roy replied as he headed to the training area where Artemis and he trained with their bows. Even though they were helping Wally, Batman had told everyone that they still needed to train. So Flash had set up an archery training area with the help of the Blue Lanterns.

Roy entered the area where he saw Artemis firing an arrow at a target. Roy didn't want to but knew that he had to do what he was about to do.

"Hey Artemis, do you have a minute?" Roy yelled making sure that he was out of range of her arrows.

Artemis let go of the arrow that she was firing before she turned to the other archer. It was true that she wasn't on the best of relationships with Roy Harper but there was one thing that they did have in common. It was the well being of Wally West. When the two were asked to come to Odyn to help Wally with his pain both archers agreed to put aside their issues at least in front of Wally.

"What do you need Roy?" Artemis asked walked up to Roy with her Bow pointed downwards.

"I need to talk to you about something." The red head said as he walked over to a bench that had been put there by Flash.

"What do you need to talk to me about?" Artemis asked as she sat down beside Roy.

"Look, I will be frank. I didn't trust you when you joined the team and to be truthful a part of me still doesn't. But I do want to apologize to you about how I treated you that night of your first mission. I had warned you not to hurt my friends but in truth you were the one that had protected Wally when he needed it the most. Heck, Robin who had known Wally for years didn't even defend Wally when he revealed that he was a Green Lantern but you did and you had only known Wally for a few months. I mean Wally figured out who you were and still accepted you before you told the team about your past but I couldn't do that. What I am trying to say is that I am sorry for the way that I treated you and that I will understand if you will not forgive me but we do need to work together like we said before we came to this planet to help Wallyand maybe someday I will come to trust you completely." Roy said as he looked directly into Artemis's eyes letting her know that he meant every word that he had said.

Artemis smiled at Roy. "You know something Roy, if I was in your shoes and if I had known Wally for as long as you had, I knew I would have done the same thing if you were me. I don't blame your for what you did to me. So I will forgive you but I think that we should keep the rivalry that we have as it seems to make us better at who we are and what we do." Artemis replied with a smirk. It was truth that if she was Roy that she would have done just what he had done to protect his friends. That was what a team no a family which was who Roy and Wally were at the moment as Artemis wasn't sure she could count Robin as family since he had spoken out against Wally when he revealed himself as Green Lantern.

:Agreed." Roy replied as he stuck his hand out to Artemis who took in a firm handshake. They both knew that they would always be rivals but now in a good way.

"Come on. We need to get back to helping Wally." Artemis said as she got up off the bench and dusted her clothes off.

Roy did the same.

As the two archers were walking back to base they were both unaware of someone close to them watching them.

"You see child. If those two who you told me don't like each other very much can work together and forgive then you can and I know that you will be able to rid yourself of the Rage in you. It will take time just like it did with Razer but I have faith in you that you can do it. The journey will be long but I can see that you are not a quitter and will never be one. You have much hope in you as well as compassion and love. You are willing to keep the secret of Artemis being the daughter of villains as well as in time accept her as one of you. Also you were willing to forgive someone that you thought as an older brother when he left the team to strike out on his own. That means that you are still filled with hope like I said." Saint Walker told the 16 year old that was standing next to him without a blue shield around him.

Wally looked up at the monk with a slight smile. He was eating dinner when Saint Walker had revisited him and told him to come with him. Wally was shocked when he was told that he would be taking a walk without a shield which scared the speedster greatly but was told that nothing would happen. Wally followed the Blue Lantern Leader to the Archery Range where he saw Roy walk up to Artemis which did scared him as Wally knew that Roy still didn't like or trust the Greek named archer.

Wally about to intervene before Roy or Artemis did something stupid but was stopped by Saint Walker and told to just watch. To say that Wally was shocked at what he had heard come out of Roy and Artemis's mouth shocked then to his core. Roy was willing to say that he was sorry and ask for forgiveness which was hard for Roy to do and Artemis forgave Roy by saying that she would have done the same thing if she was in his place. Wally knew that would always be rivals which was fine with Wally as both archers meant a lot to him.

"You know something Walker? I think that you are right." Wally told the monk as he walked back to the base without a shield and with a little more hope in his heart.

Saint Walker let a smile come to his face. "I told you that all he needed was to see the two that other than you and your wife that mean a lot to him get along. It is like you said. Artemis Crock and Roy Harper did not like each other one bit when they first met but now they have agreed to work together for the sake of your son and yes I have said son as he may not be your son in blood but he is your son in every way that there is." Saint Walker told the figure that had come up behind him.

"I guess that I can be a little protective of Wally but in truth I guess that I am that way do to what happened when Wally was really a kid. On Earth I am a Forensic Science which I someone who goes sites of violence to collect evidence that determines if someone has committed a crime. Think of it like a version of a cop that doesn't carry a gun but looks to clear someone if someone says that they did the crime. It like making sure you have the right person who did the crime." Flash told the Monk like alien as he walked up with out his mask on. He was dressed in a monk like outfit much like something you would see in ancient China or what Buddhist Monks would wear.

"How does this work with your protectiveness with Wally?" Walker asked with curiosity.

"Like you said Wally is not related to me by blood. I am married to his father's younger sister Iris who you have already seen her anger being a mother when it comes to Wally." Flash said as he remembered when he had first told Iris about what had happened to Wally on Oa, nothing had happened other than a long yelling but when Barry had told Iris about what had happened to Wally a week ago with Saint Walker and Razer coming along, Well, it didn't turn out so well. Both Saint Walker and Razer realized that Iris would make a great Star Sapphire with the love she carried for her husband and nephew. Although Razer did mention that Iris had the anger of a Red Lantern out loud in Iris's hearing distance which resulted in the fanged alien getting knocked out cold with a cast iron frying pan.

"Anyway, when I was dating or courting Iris, she would take me over to her brother's so that I could met Wally who was 2 at the time I first met him. That kid had a lot of energy and I liked him right away and he did me. But something changed over the years as Wally became more and more quiet in the way he acted. I thought that it was because his mother had left when he was 3 that he was grieving about her being gone but boy was I wrong." Flash said with sadness in his voice. "One day when Wally was 5 I made a surprise visit to my soon to be brother-in-law's house to tell Wally that I was going to be his uncle. When I got to the door to knock I heard screaming and yelling coming from inside the house. I thought that someone had broken into the house and was hurting Wally. I was wrong about someone breaking into the house but I wasn't wrong about someone hurting Wally. I busted the door down thinking that I would find a stranger hurting Wally. Imagine my surprise when I saw my wife's brother beating my soon to be 5 year old nephew to a bloody pulp. I heard Rudy calling Wally everything degrading under the sun while he was hitting him. I'll never forget that scene of seeing Wally curled up in a ball calling out to his father if you could call him that to stop hitting him and that he would be a good boy." Flash told the monk as he eyes his eyes in pain of the memory.

"What did you do?" Saint Walker asked.

"I may look like I am very calm but like I said I grew very close to Wally and when I saw that monster that had the nerve to call himself Wally's father beating his son to a bloody mess, I lost it so bad. I call the cops and then proceeded to rip Rudy off of Wally and I did what he had done to Wally to him. By the time the cops had arrived I had beaten Rudy almost to death. It took 6 cops to pull me off of him and I was put in handcuffs which are a way on Earth to restrain the hands of someone. Even though I work with the cops all the time they did not know that I was The Flash or even a Meta. Wally was looked over by our version of Healers and taken to a Medical Tent where I arrived shortly after getting what I call Bitch smacked by a cop who was a friend of mind to calm me down. Iris had arrived shortly later and was appalled at what had happened to Wally. I had to remain under the cops watchful eye until they knew the whole story but when Wally had told the cops that his father had started to hit him and that he had seen Rudy do something to his mother when was 3. it was than that everyone realized that Mary hadn't left and that she was killed by her husband and that Wally had seen everything. Well, it took some time and we had to call in another team of CSI to get the evidence to put Rudy away in jail for a long time as since it was my soon to be nephew the CSI team from Central City could not interfere at all. Like I said it took some time but the CSI team that was brought in did get the evidence that was need to put Rudy away for life." Flash said as he tried to control his stomach as he knew that he had to tell Walker more about what Rudy had done to Wally.

"You do not have to tell anything more." The Blue Lantern Leader said as he placed a hand on the blond's shoulder.

"I have to. You need to know what Wally went through. Anyway, the CSI team found more than just the fact that Wally had been beaten by his father. They had found that Rudy had been raping Wally for over a year. Rape i sexual intercourse with out permission. It's forced sex. On Earth, the raping of a child which is what Rudy did in considered one of the most evilest things that you can do in the world. Many cultures on Earth do not tolerate rape and those same cultures do not put up with child rape. What Rudy is called on Earth is a pedophile which someone who does commits sexual acts on children and like I said is not tolerated on Earth." Flash explained as he felt like he was going to be sick just from telling Saint Walker what had happened to Wally.

"Anyway, Iris and I re-figured somethings in our life by getting married within a week of finding out what was going on with Wally. With Iris being married she was able to convince the court that Wally would be safe with her and I and get the needed help that he needed to overcome his trauma which even to this day he still has problems. Heck, when Iris and I took him home from the Medical Tent he was scared to touch anything and was scared of me. He was scared of me of all people but than again him getting beat up by his father and then seeing me go on a rage and beat his father almost to death did not make a very good impression. It took time but Wally did go from being that scared little boy to a very hyper 7 year old with out speed powers. Wally found out about me being Flash by mistake. I had thought that Wally asleep but I was wrong when I came home in my costume and I saw him in the living room with eyes as wide as planets. That was the beginning of the hero worship which Wally already idolized me as Flash but when he found out he was related to The Flash he was overjoyed." Flash said with a smile at the last part.

"So how did Wally get his powers?" Walker asked.

"Wally found my notes I wrote down when I recreated the experiment that gave the first Flash who is like a father to me and a grandfather to Wally. When we get back to Earth, I'll introduce you Jay who is a really nice guy. Any way Wally always had a thing for science and since I took him to the Lab where I work the little bugger somehow got his hands of the chemicals needed to recreate the experiment that gave me and Jay our powers. Let me tell you that I was not a happy person when I found out that my 8 year old nephew had blown up the garage but I was even more upset and worried when I found out that he blew up the garage when recreating the Flash experiment. Wally was in a coma like state for three days. I stayed by his side the entire time. He was my son and wasn't going to leave him. When Wally woke up and was released from the Medical Tent I gave the kid the yelling of a lifetime when I got home while making sure that I wasn't yelling like his father had done to him. When I asked him why did he do what he did. Do you know what he told me? He wanted to be like me so that he could make sure that what happened to him would never happen to another child. Also he told me that he wanted to be just like his hero. It took me another year before I let him go on my rounds around the city and then he met The Rogues who are Central City's bad guys. I don't use the word villains when talking about then as there is a major difference between villains and bad guys. The Rouges have a sense of honor when includes no killing, no hurting woman and children and other things. They even took in two kids that had no home to go to and make sure that they go to school and have a normal life. Heck, The Rogues know who I am when I am not wearing the mask. They know who Wally is as well and are found of him by calling him 'Baby Flash'. The Rouges also don't like it when other villains try to take over their city. For example, one time Joker who is one of Batman's main villains tried to take over Central City and kidnapped Wally as Kid Flash and beat the crap out him to the point that he almost killed Wally. When The Rogues found out the Joker was in Central City and had hurt Wally. Let's just say they almost went back on their vow of not killing but Joker went back to Gotham in a body cast and was told that if he or any of Gotham's villains with the exception of Catwoman who is really just a jewel thief and not a murder ever came to Central City and tried to take over their city or hurt Kid Flash they would going back in a body bag. So you see Saint Walker I think that some of this Rage that Wally is having may be linked to his past and I know he's going to scream bloody murder when he finds out that I told you but you and the other Lanterns need to know this as I know Razer knows a little bit about Wally's past they bonded so to speak on Oa. Am I right, Razer?" Flash said as he looked over to the side where a couple of trees were. Sure enough Razer walked out from behing the tree.

"He told me about his father beating him but that was it. I am sorry to have listened in on your conversation but it is true that I have formed a bond with Wally. I guess there is something that I like about him and maybe the fact that other than Hal Jordan he is the only other human that have not condemned me for my actions as a Red Lantern. Before you say anything Flash. I meant what I said about helping Wally with his Rage. As I am the only one that has gone through getting rid of the power that fuels the Red Lantern Ring his wears." Razer said as he looked in the eyes of Flash.

"I believe you Razer. I believed you when Wally first told me about you and when you came to Earth. I will be truthful. I am a little bit jealous that my son in all but blood does have someone else that he is looking up to but I know that you can help him like you said. It's just hard to share the kid that you rescued, helped and raised to be who he wanted to be and could be." Flash told the Fanged Blue Lantern who just grinned.

"I promise you that I will never take your son away from you. You are his family but family is not always blood. Family came be friends as well. I also promise you that we will help Wally defeat this Rage as being a Red Lantern does not fit him at all and neither does being a Green Lantern when all any one can see him as is someone he is not and didn't choose to be." Razer replied as he nodded his head in goodbye and headed for the temple to get something to eat and help Wally who he saw head back to the temple with out a Blue shield around him.

"He does grow on you, doesn't he?" Flash said out of nowhere.

"He does. I do believe that young Razer does not what Wally to do what he had done when he was a Red Lantern or become what he was and it is like he said Razer does know what it is like being a Red Lantern and how hard it was to shed the Rage. Now shall we head back to the temple and enjoy dinner as I am looking forward to seeing what your wife had made today." Walker replied has he motioned for Flash and him to head back to the temple for dinner. The Alien monk would admit that he did like Iris West-Allen's cooking. Walker did like her pies that she made out of the native fruits that grew on Odyn.

Flash smiled at the way Saint Walker had mention dinner. It was no secret that the Blue Lanterns on Odyn love Iris's cooking to the point that Iris made more than she would normally make even when was was making dinner for him and Wally. Flash knew that his wife loved to cook and was enjoying cooking with so many different fruits and veggies that were native to Odyn.

As Saint Walker and Flash made their way back to the temple, Saint Walker could not shake the feeling that something was going to happen. Something that was going that would involve Wally. Something that was going to happen to Wally that would change his life for the good or the bad. Something that would force Wally to make the biggest choice of his entire young life. Something that would either make or break Wally. What ever was going to happen, Saint Walker knew that Wally would be in for the biggest fight of some sort of his life and that Saint Walker knew that he would make that right choice for himself and other around him.

Next chapter: Wally has to make a choice when an unexpected event happens that will change the course of who Wally is and what he stands for.
