THANK YOU SO MUCH TO EVERYONE WHO PUT UP WITH ME TAKING SO LONG TO GET THIS CHAPTER UP. I KNOW THAT IT HAS BEEN 6 MONTHS AND THAT IS REALLY NO EXCUSE. I REALLY DID HAVE WRITERS BLOCK AND ALSO JUST COULDN'T THINK ABOUT HOW TO GET THIS CHAPTER THE WAY THAT I WANTED IT TO COME OUT. I SHOULD LET YOU KNOW THAT I AM A SPUR OF THE MOMENT WRITER WHICH MEANS THAT I HAVE AN OUTLINE OF WHAT I WHAT THE CHAPTER TO BE BUT DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING TO BE WROTE AS I WRITE WHAT COMES TO MIND.

AUTHOR'S NOTE: JUST TO LET YOU READERS KNOW THAT I HAVE MADE MEHIRA A LITTLE BIT OUT OF THE WALLY WEST PERSONA WHO SHE IS BASED ON BUT KEEP IN MIND THAT MEHIRA HAD A LOVING FAMILY WHILE FOR WALLY HE WAS ABUSED. MEHIRA WILL BE NOT SUGER COAT ANYTHING IN LIFE AND WILL TELL IT LIKE IT IS NO MATTER WHO SHE IS TALKING ABOUT.

I WILL HAVE HER HATING SUPERMAN'S GUTS BUT NOT BECAUSE HE IS FROM ANOTHER PLANET BUT AS I REALLY HATED HIM ON HOW HE TREATED SUPERBOY IN THE SERIES AND GIVEN THE FACT THAT SUPERMAN WOULD HAVE ISSUES WITH THE AVENGERS AND AS FOR WONDER WOMAN I DO LIKE HER BUT I NEED MEHIRA NOT LIKING HER DUE THE FACT THAT THE PRINCESS DOES NEED TO BE TAKEN DOWN A FEW PEGS AND ALSO THAT I WANT MEHIRA TO KNOW JUST HOW TO BE A WARRIOR BY SOMEONE WHO IS IN MY OPTION TRUE WARRIOR NOT THAT I AM SAYING THAT WONDER WOMAN IS NOT A WARRIOR BUT I HAVE PLA FOR SIF AND WONDER WOMAN.

Chapter 8

The Mentors couldn't believe where the time had gone and started to think about what had happened since the first meeting of Robin, Aqualad, Speedy and Kid Flash. But mostly The Mentors thought about the young speedster who was not afraid to voice her option when it was needed and the fact that she would tell Superman where to put when he pissed her off. Of course, she would do that even when she was still a child.

Aquaman had said that a way to mend broken roads was through children who were innocent in the fights of adults. The King had remembered meeting with a few of the Avengers and Mehira's parents to discuss a way to form a truce between each team. The blond king could tell right away that the red haired speedster who was so full of life had defiantly gotten her love of science and as the surface world would say brains from her peaceful father but Aquaman could see that even though Mehira was only 8 at the time of the meeting, she had the beauty and grace of her mother and as the King of the underwater kingdom had seen also had a wicked right hook when it had come to something that one of his guards had said about surface dwellers. The comment wasn't meant to sound racist but Mehira had taken it that way and punched the guard out like a light who was one of the best in the Royal Guard.

Aquaman knew from his years of dealing with people of the court and visitors that Mehira's parents were very protective of their daughter and that they had thought long and hard about letting their only child work with The League but Aquaman could also tell that Hank and Janet Pym really wanted the feud between The Justice League and The Avengers to end. The King was shocked when he had found out that Mehira getting her speed powers was really a chance of fate and that The Pyms had contacted Flash to only train Mehira on how to control her powers. Who knew that an 8 year old could be the one to end the feud between the two teams of heroes.

Batman due to his nature was very untrusting of The Avengers but he wasn't going to bring his nature on the 8 year old daughter of an Avenger that hated to fight and his wife who was somewhat the same who was born without powers and had gotten them by pure chance. The Dark Knight could tell just by looking into the bright green eyes of the 8 year old speedster that she was very smart and really did want to stop the feud between The League and Avengers. Batman also could tell that Mehira had known right away who he was under the mask. There was no doubt in Batman's mind that this child who if she ended up looking anything like her mother when she got older (which would involve arrows and bullets in places that didn't belonged on the male population should they even look at her in the wrong way) could very be like everyone said could be the one to get Superman's head out of his ass and see that there was more than one way to keep Earth safe.

7 years had passed since Mehira had met Robin, Speedy and Aqualad and the quad had become the best of friends. At least once a month, the quad would always meet at someone's house for a get together. While Mehira had passed herself off as a distant relative of his wife, Flash knew that one day the young speedster would what to tell The League who she really was but Flash knew that Mehira wouldn't do that unless she had her parent's permission and when The Avenger daughter felt was the right time. Mehira had also changed her name to Kid Flash before the other members of The League could figure out who she was. Mehira's Kid Flash outfit was completely different than her Lighting Bug outfit. The outfits were so different that no one other than the ones that knew who Mehira really was outside of being Kid Flash really was.

In the 7 years since the four had met and became friends, they had a bond that was unbreakable. The four young sidekicks who were all from different worlds and ways of life had form something that no one thought was even possible. A child of two well known Avengers who wanted to build a bridge between The Justice League and The Avengers had been welcome with open arms by Robin, Speedy and Aqualad who had made a promise not to tell anyone other than their own mentors who knew the truth about the red haired speedster.

Flash didn't know if he wanted to kill or hug Mehira as he saw her come out of the rubble with Robin, Aqualad and some who was wearing a white bodysuit that looked like a younger version of Superman. Also Flash knew that wanted to kill Superman for the way he was treating what everyone now knew was a clone of The Man of Steel. The older speedster knew just by looking at the young red head that there was going to be a lot of yelling and screaming on her part for being lied to but Flash had a feeling that Mehira knew all along what was going to happen. But what scared Flash the most was what was going to happen when the 15 year old would go off about Superman. Flash knew from the start that Mehira couldn't stand Superman. Heck, she could barely on a good day put up with being in the same room as Wonder Woman who when she turned 13 called The Amazon a Slut and Whore for the way of dressing as Flash knew due to her bond with Thor had met a female Asgardian warrior by the name of Sif who Mehira said was so much better a fighter than Wonder Whore or Wonder Slut which was what the teenage speedster called The Amazon out of ear shot and at one point said to The Amazon Princess's face. Flash had learned that Sif relied on her skills, training and smarts and not just brute force and using her body. Mehira had told her mentor that a true warrior would never use their body as a tool to win as their was no honor in it. The funny thing about Mehira's dislike of Superman and Wonder Woman was that fact that it did not come from the dislike of The Avengers or anyone from SHIELD had for some of The Justice League but it came from Mehira herself. She really couldn't stand the two powerhouse Founders and was not afraid to show and tell the two point break.

Mehira couldn't believe the bull crap that was going on since she knew about The Watchtower being in space. The adults were treating her and the others like they were a bunch of children. Granted they were teenagers but that was not the point. Flash at least had the decency to tell her that things were not going to be what she thought was going to happen. Heck, not even her parents or the other Avengers treated her like she was a child. The League had lied to them and Mehira didn't blame Speedy one bit for walking out like he did as if she wasn't needed to bridge the gap between The League and The Avengers, Mehira would had stormed out as well. But what really made the young redhead mad was the way that Superman (who Mehira really couldn't stand even before becoming friends with Robin and Aqualad) was treating the clone that now called himself Superboy. Superboy didn't asked to be created the way he was. Mehira could tell that all Superboy wanted was to be accepted by Superman but that was something that wasn't going to happen based on the way that SuperJerk was acting.

Back at Mount Justice after calming down and getting a butt chewing of a lifetime from the Mentors, Mehira felt like she was about ready to punch something that had Superman's face on it all the while wishing that what she could punch really was Superjerk's face. Even before she had become friends with Robin, Aqualad and Speedy, she hated Superman with a passion. Maybe it had to do with the fact that she couldn't stand the way that Superman acted like he was all mighty and was the only one who could protect Earth. As if. Mehira had nothing against the aliens in The League but she hated when they thought that they were better than humans. Superman had no idea what it was like to ACTUALLY hurt and bleed while watching as your teammates were trying to save your life. Wonder Woman or as the teen speedster like to call her Wonder Whore was no better. Sif was a better warrior than that whore of a princess and better dressed. Mehira shivered at the times that Wonder Slut tried to get to know her and teach her the ways of a warrior but Mehira just told The Amazon that she knew how to be a Warrior without selling her body and being a whore. Needless to say, Wonder Woman stopped talking to Mehira which made that speedster so happy but Mehira would never stop calling The Amazon a whore or slut even if she tried to change her outfit.

Mehira walked over to Superboy as she saw that he was sitting on the couch with his head down. The speedster sat down beside the clone. "Just ignore Superjerk as he is not worth your time. He has his ego so far up his ass that I don't even think he knows what is right or wrong anymore." The redhead said with a smile on her face. "Wonder Woman's not to far in that department although I wouldn't put it pass The Amazon screwing Superjerk every chance she got. I mean have you seen her outfit? That just screams 'whore'."

Aqualad and Robin looked over at to where the only female member of their team was sitting and heard what she had said not shocked at all. They knew from day one when they had met the young speedster that Mehira did not care for Superman one bit and they knew that it wasn't because of the fact that he was an alien as Mehira was the least prejudice person that they had ever met. It was the fact at the way that Superman talked and acted which Aqualad and Robin now knew first hand for the way that Superboy was treated which was uncalled for.

Aqualad and Robin also knew that Mehira hated Wonder Woman as well and like with Superman was not afraid to voice it. They knew that Mehira would call Wonder Woman a whore to her face without a care in the world.

Aqualad had remembered the first time that Mehira had met Superman and he had said something about The Avengers being nothing but cowards and other not nice words. The gilled superhero could remember seeing Flash having to grip Mehira's shoulder very tight as if to tell her not to do or say anything. Aqualad knew that Mehira didn't anyone talking bad about those that who willing put their lives on the line to protect even when they didn't have any powers. King Orin had told him once about The Avengers who even though they had different ways of fighting and protecting the Earth were still protectors and unlike The League most of The Avengers were human and had no powers and relied on their own skills. Also Aqualad knew that Mehira being the daughter of two of them and had met some of the Avengers a few years ago and he had seen them in a new light.

Robin couldn't blame his speedster teammate on what she had said. The Boy Wonder knew that Batman would be having a LONG talk with Superman about how he had acted but Robin knew that Superman wouldn't listen to anything. Mehira was right about Superman's ego being up his ass. Heck, Robin knew that Batman barely could stand to be in the same room with the 'boy scout'. The one thing that Robin was glad that Mehira didn't know was that Batman had a way to take Superman down if he ever decided to go rouge. Although if that ever should happen, Robin had no doubt that Mehira would be the first one in taking Superman down in a flash to coin a phrase with a speed induce foot in the groin.

Before anyone could say anything else, Batman came into the room to tell them that they would be a team and that he was in charge of them. Batman then went on to introduce Martian Manhunter's niece, M'gann M'orzz who was green skinned like Manhunter but had red hair.

Mehira walked over to the female Martian and welcomed her into the group. The young speedster could tell that Martian in front of her was hiding something due to her years of training from her primary Godparents teaching her how to tell the signs of someone lying. Mehira could tell that just by looking at M'gann that she was hiding something but many would put if off as being nervous but for some reason the speedster could tell that what ever her new teammate was hiding wasn't important to worry about.

Mehira let out a smile at the slight flirting that M'gann was doing with Superboy who would really need a name soon. For some reason the speedster felt that the team that she was on was going to have some major problems getting along just like The Avengers did when they first started. Oh stars, help her and Young Justice cause Mehira knew that she and the team would need it.

Turn out that Mehira was right due to some missions weeks later when Speedy who renamed himself Red Arrow appeared. Really Roy! You're trying to be your own person and hero and you pick a name that is almost the same as your mentor and adopted father.

Mehira had a meeting with Fury about the new Young Justice team but the speedster had told the bald leader of SHIELD that she was not going to tell him anything about Young Justice unless it was a matter of protecting Earth and so far other than the fight with that stupid robot that cause Superboy to destroy half of a school, nothing was a threat. Mehira also told Fury that she would NOT be telling anyone who was under the mask of the Justice League or the team. It was a matter of respect. Man! If there was one thing that the young redhead hated more than Superman and Wonder Woman, it was robots that tried to destroy things. That and that stupid monkey thing although Grood was really an ape that was always running around Central City trying to destroy it. She hated monkeys and ape things. Although sometimes she thought that Hulk and Thor could a couple of monkeys at times but that was just them.

Mehira had come to Mt. Justice a little late the day that the team had gotten a new teammate and had tripped on something on the floor which caused her to land on her face with a loud thud and a curse. The speedster picked herself up and looked around to see that there was a new person in the room who was blond and carrying a bow and quiver of arrows on her back. Mehira let out a mental groan. WHY DID ARCHERS HAVE TO BE MOSTLY BLOND! IT WAS BAD ENOUGH THAT GREEN ARROW LOOKED TO MUCH LIKE ERROL FLYNN AND THE FACT THAT FANDAL ALSO LOOKED LIKE ERROL FLYNN WHEN HE WASN'T HITTING ON THE WOMEN!

"So whose the new girl? Someone to replace Red Arrow?" Mehira replied showing her slight dislike of the new girl who had a smug look on her face.

"I'm his niece. The name is Artemis." The blond girl replied with a slight growl in her voice.

"And replacing Roy." Mehira replied. She knew just who Artemis was just by looking at her thanks to being able to identity those that worked for the League of Shadows.

"If Speedy can't handle anything than he deserves to be replaced." Artemis said only to realize that she had said the wrong thing when she suddenly found herself slammed hard up against the walls of the cave with a hand on her throat.

"Listen very carefully to what I am going to say Wannabe. I don't care if you are the so called niece of Green Arrow, you DO NOT EVER if you value being able to breath with out a straw say anything bad about Roy as if you know what is going on. You may be on the team but you have yet to show me that I can even trust you at all and by insulting someone who I have know for years is not the best way for me to even like you. So in other words Blondie. Watch your mouth cause I am not afraid to introduce my fist to you face." Mehira growled out as she removed her hand from the blond's neck. She would be lying if she didn't let a little of the training that Black Widow had showed her come out but there was no way in hell was she going to let some bimbo who thought she was all that insult her friend who had every right to do what he did that day.

To say that everyone in the Cave was shocked what they had just seen Mehira do. They knew that she wasn't related to Flash by blood and was known for being mildly aggressive and not afraid to speak what was on her mind but what she had done to Artemis scared them. But them again Artemis did insult Roy who Mehira was very close to.

The mission that the team had been sent on went well. Other than Mehira giving Artemis the butt chewing of a lifetime for not being there for the team to chase after someone. It was very obvious that Mehira did not like Artemis that much but would work with her if she had to.

Artemis took the Zetatube to Gotham. When she left the abandoned phone booth that was really the ZetaTube in disguise, Artemis felt that someone was behind her. The blond quickly pulled an arrow out of her quiver and turned only to come face to face with a pair of angry green eyes.

"Well, it does seem that the mighty replacement is not who everyone thinks she is."

Artemis knew right away who was speaking to her. Mehira AKA Kid Flash who really didn't like her at all.

"What do you want, Kid Flash?" The Greek named archer asked with an annoyed tone in her voice as she lowered her bow and arrow. She really didn't want to deal with the speedster who REALLY didn't like her and was not afraid to show it but Artemis figured that it was because of the speedster loyalty to Red Arrow who had been Kid Flash's friend for a long time.

"A few words of advice. One, I know who the daughter you are of and what your parents do and in your mother's case DID for a living. How I know about your past is none of your concern. Two, if you even think about hurting anyone on the team and I promise I will make sure you will never use a bow again. Three, don't even think that for a second that I trust you. You may have Green Arrow fooled into thinking that you can be trusted but lets not forget the fact that Sportsmaster and Huntress are your parents and Cheshire who you let get away is your older sister which is something that you should have never let happen since you are now a so-called hero and supposedly on the side of good. You need to face that fact that Cheshire is working for The Shadows and therefore your enemy and will need to be treated as such. I do understand the family loyalty but remember Cheshire will not think twice about taking a member of Young Justice which is your team now out for good. Four, if I find out that you are working for The Shadows, you will not like what I will do to you. I will not put up with you hurting my friends whether you do it by force or by words. Also keep in mind that I may be Flash's sidekick but I do not share all of his care free nature. Five, if you are so worried about being found out about your past then just quit the hero business as you will only be hurting the team and not helping them. I'm not going to tell the team about who you are as that will be your job but like I said if your past interferes with a mission and put lives at stake then you can bet your ass that I will be telling everyone everything about you." Mehira told the female archer in front her and smile as she saw the bow in Artemis's hand start to shake. "Remember what I said Artemis and I think that we can work together."

Artemis watched at the speedster left the alley with her head held high. How did Mehira know about her parents and sister? It was like the redhead knew who she was when they had first met. Looking back on what she was told, Artemis realized that Mehira had not once threatened her but told the truth about everything. Artemis also realized that she didn't exactly start on good terms with Mehira as she did insult Red Arrow right off of the bat which Artemis knew Mehira was good friends with.

Artemis was screwed big time and knew that it was going to take a LONG time for Mehira to trust her that's if Mehira would even do that. But Artemis could see where the speedster was coming from. Her past could hurt her new team and that was something that the female archer really didn't want to have happen. Artemis knew that she wasn't like her family and was willing to change but for the first time, Artemis was scared of someone her age who knew who she was and wasn't afraid to voice her options and tell it like it was. Artemis remembered when Superman made his appearance and sent a glare to Superboy which didn't go well with Mehira and the Speedster let loose words that Artemis thought that someone who was taught by Flash who was very carefree shouldn't know. Artemis knew that when Mehira said something, she would back her mouth up and sometimes that person would be hurting for a while. Mehira was not violent by nature but she would protect those she thought of a family and those that were her friends which Artemis knew from today was not her at the moment but the Greek named archer could tell that Mehira did have her back should something go wrong but Mehira only thought of her as a teammate and nothing more.

But what really scared the archer was the look in the younger speedster's eye when she had told her that she wouldn't put up with anyone hurting her friends. It was a look of pure emotion and one that told Artemis that Mehira wasn't afraid to kill if the situation called for it. Mehira did have the eyes of a someone who would kill but only to protect like a solider in the military.

Artemis knew right now that her life was going to be changing and that her speedster teammate would somehow be playing a major role in who she would become and what she would choice to do. Right now all Artemis wanted to do was go home, take a shower and get some sleep.

Next chapter: Mehira and the team met Kent Nelson and some 'out of town' friends come for a quick visit which results in Mehira losing her temper and breaking something.
