Flash back

Running. Always running. It was the only thing that can be done to stay free. In the new world there are only small groups of humans free. They hide where the others won't go. But it isn't always happy. Babies and young children are always left behind. I left four babies and three young children in the cave while I was out hunting. They were good but different ages. The oldest was seven and the youngest two days old. All of the kids were boys as girls were taken as prizes.

Life has been hard and harsh but we survived. The challenges in my life weren't always good but I succeeded. Being on the run was the worst but it was the best. Having the boys was definitely the happiest days of my life. They understood the life they were raised in and did what they could to make it better for us. We weren't being hunted for being human as no – one could find us. I was being hunted for running. I had a great life now and stopped running.

End of flash back

"Captain we are coming in to port"

"Send the boys to get supplies. The others are to go and stretch their legs." My words were quick and distant to me. "I want everybody back in two hours to leave."

"Yes Captain." He turned away and dispatched the groups.

One of the boys came to me. "Captain what direction are we going in?"

"I don't know. Wherever the wind takes us." I kissed his head softly as the rest of the boys came to us. "Jackson watch your brothers and don't leave anyone behind."

"Aye aye Captain." Smiling at the young men in front of me my heart ached. "Come on boys. You heard the Captain."

"Bye mum see you soon."
