Chapter 12

Mehira let out a groan as she moved her tired and achy body up to her room at The Avenger Tower. She had just come back from training with Black Canary who worked her to the bone but before her training with the Sonic Screamer she had training with Natasha and Clint who were training her to take on more than one opponent at once as they had come at her at the same time. Her godparents were training her like they had done before she had ever got her speed powers which was good thing cause you never knew when some goon that Young Justice would be facing would have one of those damn collars that would take your powers away.

The teen made it to her room where she took a shower and changed into her nightclothes. As she headed to her bed, Mehira couldn't shake the feeling that something was going on and it wasn't just related to The Justice League as she had overheard some of them talking about something that The Green Lanterns had said concerning a gem of some sort. Mehira thought that it was funny concerning the fact that Fury had a few weeks ago had gotten information from Loki about something called an Infinity Gem that could be on Earth.

The young speedster had a massive bad feeling that The Justice League would be finding out about who she really was soon if it meant to save the world.

Hank watched his only child fight to make it to her room and fight the tiredness of her body.. The Biochemist knew that his daughter had a long day with two different training sessions from three people who were known for hard core in training. Hank, like his daughter could sense that there was something really bad that was going to happen but he didn't know what.

The size changing hero knew what ever was going to happen would be big and that he would have to fight which is something that he would do to keep those that he loved safe even when he knew that they would be fighting as well. But what scared Hank the most was the fact that when he fought sometimes was that the persona of YellowJacket would come out. YellowJacket was something that Hank hated about himself and that he knew would always be a part of him but Hank had fought to keep him in check when ever Janet or Mehira was hurt or in danger but in the same boat it was his wife and daughter who also kept YellowJacket from appearing in battle.

Janet had brought her then boyfriend out of being YellowJacket and when Mehira was born it seem that YellowJacket had vanished but that was not the case. When Mehira was 3 years old, someone that was an enemy of SHIELD and they never found out who it was had tried to kidnap Mehira from her room but thanks to Dr. Banner who had turned into The Hulk when he saw someone trying to take his goddaughter had saved the day which also caused YellowJacket to come out which resulted in a manhunt for the bee named persona of Hank Pym as he was out for blood on who ever had dared to threaten his daughter.

Three days later,

Mehira cursed her bad luck as she found herself looking into the face The Joker who was laughing up a storm in her face while her teammates struggled to get out of their bonds. Of all of the monsters that The Justice League had faced or fought, it was Joker that she hated the most and just didn't understand why this thing was even allowed to breath.

The Team had been sent to find some information on some sort of drug only to find out that it was a trap sent by Joker hence everyone being tied up.

"Well, I must say that this in such a surprise to see such a pretty young sidekick." Joker cackled out as he trailed a finger down Mehira's face in a manner that if Ant-man had seen then the clown themed villain would have lost his finger and much more. Heck, if any any of The Avengers and even Fury had seen what Joker was doing to her, Joker would be found in pieces.

"Touch me again and I'll take that finger off and make you eat it." Mehira growled out in a very demonic voice that scared everyone even the two who knew who she was.

"My, my, my. It seems out little speedster has a bite to her. This is going to be fun breaking you but first I think I'll have some fun with the others." Joker said with a sadist smile on his face as he leaned down so that his face was right in front of the red haired speedster.

"How about I break you." Mehira growled out as she headbutted Joker and used his confusion to bring her leg up which was not bound as hard as she could using her super speed and kick Joker in between the legs so hard that Mehira's male teammates winced in pain.

Joker let out a agonizing scream as he felt his manhood go back into his body from the powerful kick. When he looked up from the pain, he saw the female speedster free of her bonds and glaring at him in a way that called for his death. He had heard stories that Kid Flash was not like her mentor and had a vicious side to her but he had never believed it but now he did and he feared for his life.

"Not laughing now are we?" Mehira snarled as she pulled her hand that had turned into a fist back and swung it at Joker so fast and hard that Joker was sent flying into the wall. "I don't put up with anyone trying to hurt my friends and teammates even if I don't care for some of them." Mehira snarled as she repeatedly punched the clown over and over.

The team were to stunned from the viciousness of their friend to try and free themselves from the ropes. They knew that Mehira had a temper but this was full out brutal. The also now knew who she really was as last night she had come out and told The Team that she was Ant-Man and The Wasp's daughter and was raised and trained by The Avengers who The Team knew were not as bad as some of the members of The League made them out to be. The team was told that she wanted to try to get the two teams together in a way that both The League and Avengers could work together should the Earth come under attack that neither team could handle alone.

Artemis watched in horror at her speedster teammate who the archer knew from her past meeting from the first time they had met had a temper and anger issues at times beat Joker to almost a bloody pulp. The female archer now knew what Mehira had meant when she had told her that if she had ever hurt her friends what would happen. Artemis let out a shutter at that thought. Not even her father was this vicious when he was training her. The female archer could see based on her training when she was younger that something had caused their speedster teammate to snap and Artemis wasn't sure if that was a good or bad thing at the moment. Artemis now knowing that Mehira was the daughter of two Avengers where her loyalty to those she thought of a family came from and why she was threaten the first day she became apart of the team. Mehira was threatening Artemis because she wanted to protect those that she thought of as family not because she was the daughter of assassins.

When The Justice League arrived a few minutes later, thanks to Robin having put out a tracer just before being knocked out by the gas that Joker used, they were shocked to see The Joker barely breathing and Mehira covered in what they knew was Joker's blood.

The adults took the team back to the cave where they were taken care of while Mehira refused to move from her spot by the door.

Superman walked up to the young speedster to begin his speech about how a member should behave and what they shouldn't do but the words left him at the sight of the glare that Mehira was giving him. It was a glare of pure rage and anger and promised death at some point.

"DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT GIVING ME YOUR STUPID SPEECH ABOUT WHAT WE SHOULD DO AND NOT DO CAUSE I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR IT." Mehira growled out as she wiped what blood she could of of her suit.

"Kid Flash, you could have killed him!" Superman pointed out.

"And what's wrong with that? What's wrong with someone who has been locked up and escaped countless times and each of those times he's caused more damage and killed more people." Mehira growled out with venom in her voice that it scared Batman.

"We do not kill." Superman pointed out.

"Which is the reason that so many people have been hurt by this monster and so many others. Why is that? Do The Justice League like the fame they get from beating the villains but don't do what is needed to really to protect those that need it?" Mehira replied.

"Killing is never right."

"Well, maybe it should be. God, I can't believe that I thought that I could mend the bridges that caused the rift between The Justice League and The Avengers. What the hell was I thinking when I thought that?" Mehira yelled out.

"What do you mean by that? Are you seeing The Avengers behind The League's backs when I told everyone not to?" Superman demanded.

"Who the fuck do you thing you are to tell me who I can see or not see? Last time I looked you weren't my father which I am glad because my father is more than the man heck he's more than the human that you could ever be. If you truly were what everyone said you were than you wouldn't have called for Superboy to be killed just because he is a clone. But I guess that you think that you are so much better because of your powers which you need to remember that you only get from our sun because if your little planet hadn't gone BOOM then you would be just like us humans. But I guess the thought of be a human makes you sick. You aren't even human although you say you want to keep this planet safe." Mehira snarled out.

"That is not the point. You knew that you were not to have any contact with anyone linked to The Avengers and for that you will be punished. You need to now how to respect your elders. " Superman growled out showing that he was losing his temper.

"Let me save you the trouble you Alien scumbag asshole. I QUIT!" Mehira screamed so loud that Superboy's ears rang.

"What?!"

"You heard me Alien Freak. I quit and by saying that I mean that I quit the team and I will cut all ties to The Justice League since they seem to think that they are above every one. Oh and for the record. I don't just have contact with The Avengers, I was raised by them. I AM THE DAUGHTER OF ANT-MAN AND WASP. I meant what I said, I was trying to get the 2 teams to at least be civil with each other but I see that was in vain. So since you are going to punish me for doing what I think is right them I am done dealing with your crap. If any of you try so much to even try to find me than you will be dealt with as you should be with stalking. And another thing, SHIELD does not and will never know who any of you are under the mask. I do have that much respect for you so be thankful but I am sick of this bullshit and for the respect Superdick RESPECT is earned no given which you have not earned my respect one bit and probably never will with the way that you act. GOOD-BYE AND GOOD RIDDANCE." Mehira screamed out before she walked with her head held high to the Zetas.

"Are saying that you are a spy?" Superman demanded as he appeared in front of Mehira only to suddenly find himself on his knees holding what makes him a male.

"No, I am not a spy but someone who was trying to bring peace to both teams but I see that was in vain." Mehira growled as she looked down at Superman due to the kick she had given him. "I personally think that YOU not The League is the threat when you try to tell someone who that can talk to or see. The last time I looked you were all about freedom. How can everyone be free when you decide who someone can talk to? Are you planning of becoming the ruler of The Earth?" Mehira smirked at the shocked look on Superman's face.

"What's the matter? Never thought someone or at least someone that you didn't have any respect for or faith in because she was just a child would stand up to you and point out the truth. Get off your high horse about what people do and act just because they don't follow what you think is the right way to act." Mehira growled out as she finished her walk to the Zeta tubes, got into the tubes and disappeared.

Everyone knew that Mehira would be deleting her name from the computer and never coming back. The problem that was on many of The League member's minds even the ones that knew who Mehira really was from the start was what had caused the teenage redhead to snap like that.

Superman got up off of his knees with a groan and looked over to Batman who was glaring at him with a deadly glare and that was when Superman knew that Batman knew who Mehira was and Flash did as well.

"Nice going Superdunce. You just mad someone who really was hoping and trying to get both teams to work together should the need arise that neither team could handle in an attack on Earth." Flash snarled out.

Superman opened his mouth to reply only to close it at the look Flash was giving him.

"Flash is right. Do not think that you can justify your actions on this matter. You treated a 15 year old girl who really has no ties to SHIELD as if she was a spy which she is not, in fact I have been in contact with her father since Flash started to train her and as you know Ant-Man is a pacific and hates to fight. Well, you should also know that Ant-Man told Fury that if he or any of his agents even think about having his daughter join SHIELD than there would be hell to pay as Ant-Man told me that he would shrink them down to the size of ants and step on them and this is from someone who hates to fight but will do anything to protect his family." Batman told The Man of Steel in a growling voice.

"She still lied to us and the team!" Superman pointed out as he tried to make his point.

"She did lie but last night she told us the truth about who she was and for the record, Aqualad, Speedy and myself knew the truth about who she was and we never let that bother us." Robin told Superman as he was losing his patience.

"And for the record SuperIdiot, Ant-Man and Wasp came to me when their daughter got her speed power in what was really by a weird stroke of bad fate. I agreed to train her because this was at the time a 8 year old girl that needed help but then again you would never know what helping a child would be as like Mehira said you wanted to have Superboy killed just because he was a clone but aren't you the one that said killing is wrong so you would be nothing but a hypocrite if you killed Superboy and don't you DARE give that speech that Superboy is not a living life-form cause he is. You are the one that should be put to death due to the fact that you can't see past your own pride. Also a side note, I never told Mehira to join the team she choose that herself and also unlike the others that day at The

Hall of Justice, I was truthful with her about not everything would be what she thought. I trusted her while some of you did not." Flash told Superman and everyone in the room before he left via the Zeta-tubes.

Everyone knew to let Flash cool down as everyone knew that Flash was very dangerous when mad.

"Just think about something, Superman. Mehira never hid anything from us and for the record,
Mehira and Flash's wife are really distantly related in real life through an Irish ancestor so she did not lie. Also Mehira never hid the fact that she had a temper nor that she was like Flash in persona. Also it was the truth about her seeing someone die because he was protecting her only it wasn't on Earth but on another planet. SHIELD was asked by planet to come be mediators in a peace talk. Mehira was asked because even though she was young she wouldn't sugar coat anything that happened. What she told you was the truth about a fight breaking out and a young solider protecting her with his body which cost him his life." Green Arrow said as he knew what had really happened when the teenage speedster was 13 and it still affected her greatly.

"But she was raised by..."

"Don't even think about finishing that sentence. Just because someone was raised by some who kills for a living does not make them a killer. Is someone who is the child of someone who makes a life in the military and kills to protect those who can not protect themselves going to be a killer? Or is someone who is the son of your worst enemy who has joined you in your fight to protect going to be evil?" Aquaman pointed out as he knew Kaldur knew who his birth father really was but the young man did not care at all that he was the son of Black Manta.

"Another thing, going on Aquaman's comment about military members. Does the fact that they kill to protect make them killers? Are they evil because they are willing to kill to protect those they love and defend what they believe? How do you know that all of the members of SHIELD have killed? Did you stop and think that some of the agents could only be apart of SHIELD because of their skills and knowledge?" Green Arrow asked know the truth that Superman's adopted father was a solider who had fought in wars and had taken lives and that he knew that some of the agents had never taken a life despite knowing how defend themselves.

That got Superman thinking. He had been saying that if you killed someone than you were a killer but he never thought about the soldiers who fought everyday to protect those they cared about and what Superman knew was that most of SHIELD and a few Avengers were military and still in the military. But what really got Superman thinking was the fact that he was calling the man that raised him, the man that he saw as a father a killer because he had taken lives when he was in the service to keep his teammates safe and give them time to get the villagers of the village that they were staying to safety when he served in the Vietnam war.

"I was in The Marine Corps for 7 years and I did take lives, does that make me a killer?" Green Lantern(John Steward) asked as it was the truth that he had served for 7 years and did in order to protect his team kill some people which did haunt him and would always haunt him but he was not ashamed of what he had done and would never be. "I was still chosen to be a Green Lantern even though I did kill because I still wanted to keep everyone safe. The moment I was on Oa I told everyone what I had done when I was younger and they told me that what I had done was protecting those that I cared about and that there were many Green Lanterns that had taken lives to protect."

"Just think about the person, not the job that they do before you say something. DON'T let your pride get in the way of something that could protect the Earth which is what SHIELD does." Batman told Superman before he left the cave.

One by one everyone left the room to leave the cave or head to their rooms which left Superman alone to think about what he had just been told.

The Man of Steel walked over to the couch where he sat down with his head in his hands. Was it really true about what his teammates were saying about his pride? The words that were said really what was happening. Was he the one that was causing the rift between The Avengers and The League because of his pride?

The blue eyed farm boy thought about everything that had happened. Mehira had been around for a few years and what got him was that she knew who everyone was outside of being a hero but SHIELD didn't know because Mehira had never told them. She really was trying to mend the rift between the teams.

What really got Superman to thinking was the fact that the teen speedster wasn't afraid to tell the truth about everything and anyone. She did make a point that she was truthful and wasn't afraid to show it. Superman also saw that Mehira did care about the team that she was on. Superman could also tell that Mehira would die for the team if it was needed.

Superman felt like an idiot now that he thought about it. Who he had thought were not fit to protect the earth were actually protecting the Earth just in their own way. The Avengers were just like Wonder Woman who had her own way of fighting because of her way of life. J'onn and M'gann had to learn that on Earth that you couldn't go into someone's mind without their permission due to the fact the Humans valued privacy and that you needed permission to look into the mind of someone.

It was then that Superman realized that HE was the one that was causing the problems between SHIELD and The Justice League and it was all because of his pride. What he thought he was doing was protecting the Earth but that wasn't the case. He was really causing more damage to Earth because he couldn't see past his own pride and ways of life.

Superman remembered something that John Kent had told him growing up on the farm. John had told him during a planting season that each seed you planted had to be planted a different way and that no two seeds were alike. That was also the way of life as no two people were the same. Each had their own way of dealing with what happened to them.

Superman hit himself for his stupidity and knew that he not The League would have a long road ahead in order to even get SHIELD to even think about working with The Justice League or at least with him.

Superman got up off the couch and headed towards the Zetatubes. The Man of Steel knew that he had his work cu out for him if he wanted to get Mehira back on the team which was not going to be easy as he had just seen the anger of the young speedster and also his manhood had felt the anger as well. Flash was going to give him the riot act when they would next meet and Superman knew that he deserved that as he did treat Mehira and Superboy who really didn't ask to be created wrong. Superboy really was a living creature and Superman realized that with the way he was treating the clone that he was no batter than the villains that he fought.

Superman made a promise to himself that he would do what he could to get everyone back together and that he would stop acting like a bastard which was what he was at the moment.

Next chapter: Mehira lets loose her anger in the training room at the Tower while Superman tries to make up for how he treated Superboy but doesn't get far. Meanwhile Loki comes acroos something about the Soul Gem and Mehira.
