The city was loud, too loud to hear a soft thud on the rooftops. After dealing with her brothers about her insanity, she had left the lair to get away from the noise….away from Splinter's disapproving glances….away from Mikey's obsession over April...away from Donnie's foreign techno talk...and away from Raph's protectiveness and temper. She had put more effort lately in ditching her brothers than she wanted to admit. It's not that she hated them...they just didn't get it. Hearing her phone ring, Laila checked the number and didn't answer, letting her voicemail go through. If they cared enough, they would leave a message, but they didn't. Laila stopped her run on top of the foot clan building. It had been rebuilt since the last one burned and it was just like the old one, only bigger. Laila smiled and leaned against the spire that ran on the top, remembering when she used to always do this. She wished that she could get her families to get along, but they were sworn enemies. Unknown to her brothers, Laila had formed a secret alliance with the foot clan. Opening the secret trap door on the roof, she jumped into the building and went to find Karai. Right now, her sister was the only one she trusted enough to deal with this. She didn't even bother hiding, knowing the foot ninja weren't allowed to attack her because of their alliance. The good news was that Karai tonight had managed to score some good alcohol. It was rare, but Laila would drink to get her troubles out of her head. Laila hated alcohol, but she only drank it if she couldn't get whatever was bugging her out of her head with a fight, or maybe a lot of fights. Finally finding Karai's office, she walked in without knocking and blinked when she noticed a few six-packs of smirnoff vodka.
"Damn Karai, you really went all out tonight."
"Well, I knew I was gonna have a drinking buddy...but why are you here? Your brothers will kill you if they found out you got drunk last night."
"I don't give a fuck." Laila opened a six-pack and grabbed a bottle, opening it and chugging it all down before you could even blink. The rare times Laila even touched any alcohol, she really drank.
"What happened this time?"
"I told them…"
