The bottle stopped inches from Karai's mouth as she set it down and stared at Laila in shock. Her insane side was a secret only between laila's friends, and her. Sacks only knew because Laila nearly killed him by accident.

"How'd they react?" Her voice had the usual cold and heartless tone, but only Laila could ever sense the worry and concern in her voice. Growing up with someone for thirteen years can make you sense things that no one else can about that person.

"...let's just have another drink."

"They wanted you to take meds didn't they?" Laila blinked in surprise, her hand stopped mere centimeters before the half-full bottle. She took a deep breath before grabbing the bottle and downing the whole thing in less than a second.

"Yeah, look let's just change the subject."

"Laila-"

"Karai, you know I hate pity."

"I wasn't gonna pity you, I was gonna suggest a sparring match...or we go out for a run."

"If we go out on a run, we'll probably run away from my brothers." As much as she didn't want to admit it, Laila felt more at home at the foot headquarters than at the lair. Maybe because she grew up and made a lot more memories with the foot clan, like when she accidently threw a cake in Karai's face, or when her brother used to let her help out in his lab.

"Laila!" She blinked in surprise and flinched when she felt Karai's hand connect with her forehead, as she took the bottle away. "That's enough for you."

"What?"

"Laila, you know you can't drink too much or else you'll start puking. I'm doing you a favor."

"Or so you think…*sigh*..fine." Laila stopped reaching for the bottles and Karai put them away just before they heard glass break. Laila was quickly on alert, especially when she saw who it was.

"Why are you here?"

"You should know."
