Right before they could get ready to leave, the ground started shaking.
"What the hell?"
"We have to leave the sewers." Laila nodded and they ran to go out the nearest manhole. Once they found it, they both quickly got on the roofs just in time to notice the street had a huge crack in it. Laila tried calling her brothers but her phone had no signal.
"leatherhead, let me use your phone." Laila grabbed it from him and tried calling Leo. To her relief, he answered.
"Hello? Who is this?"
"Leo, it's me."
"Laila! Where the hell are you?"
"I had to leave the sewers, I didn't have a choice."
"It's dangerous up there, get to the lair quick!" Laila hung up and they headed towards the sewer, finally finding a manhole. They jumped down, back into the sewers, just as the ground started shaking more.
"Laila, go back.."
"Leatherhead!"
"GO!" Laila didn't want to, but her body reacted before her mind could and she ran to the lair, praying it wasn't crushed. Seeing the lair intact made her sigh in relief. She quickly entered to noticed the lights out.
"Great, power went out." Hearing another sewer tunnel crumble and collapse, laila knew she'd have to wait before finding leatherhead. She quickly hid while the shakings continued, then went to find her brothers when they paused. Opening the door to Donnie's lab, she found him under the table.
"Donnie!" He looked up at her and relief flew through his body.
"Laila, thank god."
