Wendy shook her head in anger and took off the other way, towards the bay they had walked through the night before. Her conversation with Peter, although maddening, had been enlightening for Wendy herself. As she was speaking the words she had realized how true they were, that she did think her life would be filled with adventures, and that they would be fulfilling. Peter was right, to a certain extent: they would not be the kind of adventures that he knew, but she also knew that that was alright.

She kicked a rock in her path and again wondered if she could change Peter's mind.

"Hello again," said a familiar voice.

"Nick! Hi," Wendy replied, the sides of her mouth lifting up into a grin. "I wasn't sure if I'd get to see you again."

Nick sauntered over. "Whyever not?"

"I'm leaving today."

"Hmm. Where to?"

"Heading home to London. Oh! This is your ship?" She suddenly noticed a beautiful galleon harbored in the bay.

"Sure is. Would you like a tour?" he asked, extending his hand.

Wendy shot a glance in the direction that Peter had stalked, then took Nick's hand. "I'd love nothing more!"

Meanwhile…

"Why must she be so stubborn?" Peter asked Tink, who had caught up with him after he parted from Wendy.

Tink shrugged.

"Oh you're no help."

Tink shrugged again and spoke in her fairy language.

Peter halted suddenly. "I am NOT."

Again Tink spoke, shaking her head.

"I am NOT lonely, and I'm NOT jealous."

Tink's sparkling trill again filled the forest around him.

"I'm not going to listen to Wendy, she does NOT have a point. Tink, you're being ridiculous."

Tink made a sad face and kissed Peter on the cheek. Then she left him to his thoughts.

"Girls are nothing but trouble," he said aloud to no one. "How dare she make me question my decisions? My life is perfect and if Wendy grows up she will be miserable. She knows nothing." However, Wendy's face flashed in his mind. She shook his head to clear it. "Ridiculous." He set off, even more determined, towards the lagoon.
