Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Hope you're weekends are good and you stay safe.

Sophia's heart felt like it was splitting in half. She didn't know what happened and that scared her just as much as seeing Brian laying in a puddle of blood. Just as much as Daryl soaked in blood while being dazed and on his knees in the same puddle. But for all of that her blood rushed through her body so hard and fierce when she seen Philip Blake laying there. Seeing him and knowing that Daryl wouldn't just mercilessly kill a man for sport, she knew that he'd come here to hurt them.

"Sophia." Carol's soft voice was there in her ear.

Her eyes stayed on Mac's back as he retreated. Looking back at Brian's door she scowled but Mac's words were serious. That aching split lanced through her again when she heard a thud upstairs and Merle's gruff voice. Daryl was up there. She wasn't sure if he was okay either. How could everything go so bad so quick?

"Sophia."

Turning just as Andrea slipped by and into Mac's room Sophia met her mom's eyes. Carol caught her arm and pulled her down the hall. Sophia followed not sure what to say. Her mom kept casting worried looks around and Sophia tried to smile but it fractured.

"I need you to go upstairs and check on Daryl. Ask Merle if they need anything." Carol stared into her eyes. Her lip trembled and Sophia swallowed, "You stay with him because he needs us right now and needs to know we're okay."

Sophia nodded and avoided looking at the blood puddled. Phillip wasn't there anymore and she wasn't sure what happened to him. Didn't care. He didn't deserve a quick death. He wasn't a good man. Nodding again not even sure if her mother seen it she turned and started up the steps. They were okay. Brian was okay because he was to stubborn to die and Daryl was just to awnry.

"Hold still."

"Get out."

"No you fidgety fuck."

"Get out."

"Eat me."

"Get out."

Sophia walked in trusting that since the door was open they were decent. As decent as a Dixon could be. Merle turned as soon as he heard her but her eyes were on Daryl. He was standing in the center of the room warding Merle off. He was blood soaked and pissed. His eyes connected with hers and all that harsh cold wrath was gone. His shoulders sagged and she launched herself at him.

He grunted under the impact a sob ripping from her throat. Feet leaving the ground she felt like a little girl at the moment. She felt like a baby for the deep gut wrenching sobs shaking her body and the way Daryl was holding her. It didn't matter though because he was alive and there. Her arms tightened around his neck and her legs locked further around him. He was shushing her and trying to calm her but his words were lost in the sounds of her heartbreak.

"Don't set on the bed. Carol will kill you."

"Get out."

Sophia listened as the door clicked behind Merle. Daryl set heavily on the bed and his hand ran up and down her back.

"Breathed Sophia." His voice was rough and worried. "I'm fine and so is Brian."

She nodded. She knew all this but it didn't matter. Everything she had was almost ripped away from her.

"You're getting covered in blood." He huffed but didn't stop rubbing her back.

Sophia chuckled sloppily into his shoulder. Her sobs died but she was hiccuping. Blinking away the tears that refused to stop falling she grimaced. Shifting she set on the bed beside him and he stood. He made a face at himself before looking at her again. Sophia forced a smile but he just frowned at her.

"Mom said to stay with you." Her voice was shredded.

Daryl nodded and grabbed clothes. "I'll be right back."

Sophia watched him escape to the bathroom before looking at the bed. Merle was right. Her mom was going to shit when she seen the blood soaked sheets. Standing up she stripped them off and walked into the hall. She knew her mom was cleaning the blood downstair and stared at the sheets. They were covered in Phillip's blood. She pitched them over the railing of the stairs.

Pausing when she heard Mac's voice and Andrea's.

"Brian is okay." Andrea's voice carried upstairs, "He just pulled a blanket over his lap but he let me check him over, again."

Sophia felt some of the tension leave her shoulders but wanted to check on him still. It'd be impossible until he decided to put clothes on again. Sophia scowled and stormed back into her mom and dad's room. The shower was just cutting off and she could already hear him grumbling. When he did come out he was completely dressed and scanning the floor for his boots.

"Foot of the bed." Sophia pointed, "Where are you going?"

Daryl grabbed his boots and jerked them on roughly. He looked like he was ready to kill. Sophia swallowed looking at him. His hands were already coated in blood in defense of his family. It wouldn't be the first time tonight he'd hurt someone for them and she knew that the Dixon's wouldn't rest until everyone involved paid.

"Daryl." Sophia whispered, "I know you've got to do this." He paused what he was doing and looked over at her. "I know you, Mac, and Merle are going to go out there and I want you to." She hissed causing his eyebrow to raise, "But before you do can you do me a favor?"

He nodded and squatted in front of her. "Name it." He said seriously.

Sophia met his eyes, "Make Brian put clothes on so I can check on him."
