Chapter 313
"So let me get this straight," Kurumu said across the table from Kyouko. "After everything that's happened, you want me to do you a favor?"
The meeting this time was a threesome. Tsukune and Kurumu were on one side of the table, clearly a couple, while Kyouko was on the other. This time the table was in Tokyo, in a nice restaurant popular for business lunches.
"I am willing to admit that I am unhappy that Tsukune was forced to grow up too fast," Kyouko replied. "But you can't argue with the results. And I know you had something to do with how well he has turned out."
"Well," Kurumu gave Tsukune a sly look. "Tsukune has become an impressive man."
"Even if he can still be a jerk sometimes," Kyouko added.
"Guilty," Tsukune agreed with a smug grin. In spite of having way more money than her, Tsukune had made it clear that his cousin would be the one paying for lunch. Since she was the one asking for favors, it only seemed right to him.
"I have gotten over my problems with what Tsukune has decided to do with his life," Kyouko said, proud of how calm and mature she sounded, in spite of her lingering feelings over the matter. "Knowing what I do, I still sent a friend's brother to him when he needed a job."
"He has worked out well," Tsukune admitted. "I had to cut his hours back now that his classes have started, but he is worth keeping around."
"That is good to hear," Kurumu nodded. "I know Tsukune cares about you, as a part of his family, and did not want to drive you away."
"Not a chance," Kyouko said with a touch of fierceness. "One thing about our family is that we are stubborn. Face it, you're stuck with me and the rest of the family."
"I guess if I must..." Kurumu gave a fake sigh of long suffering. She reset her composure to a more serious tone. "So now that we've established that were all one big family, why don't you tell me about your plan?"

The little cafe in the corner of the store received a much needed makeover. Gone was the cheap plastic furniture and blocky counter. The section of store was now leased out to Karasu no kōhī, who had remodeled the space to fit their aesthetic senses. The people working there were no longer employees of the department store, but dedicated employees that only worked the coffee shop. While her backing of Karasu no kōhī was off the books, Kurumu was willing to associate herself with the small but growing chain of coffee shops and trucks. Her plan was to publicly buy into the chain in a few years as a part of her eventual retirement from the spotlight.
The revamping of the coffee corner of the store had not been a part of Kyouko's plan, but she accepted the idea quickly. For one reason, the in-store cafe had never been a success. For another, she was renting out floor space of the store, that meant the store was making more money in just over a month. What had been a part of Kyouko's plan was to have the famous 'Sweetheart Chef' to do a live event to help promote the store.
The problem with going through normal channels to schedule a live event was one of money. The reason Kyouko went through her cousin was, of course, to save money, and time as well. Her idea was to have Kurumu to do live appearances at the store, but not full events like she normally did. The appearances were to be fan events. Word of her appearance would be spread through the network of fan based discussion groups and message boards. A signing event of her cook book.
What Kyouko had not counted on was how sharp her cousin and his lover were when it came to business. Because of her contract, Kurumu still needed to involve her agent, who also had professional experience to add to the project. What Kyouko had unintentionally done was give out the seeds for a new opportunity.

Moka enjoyed the night air, cuddled on her patio with Tsukune as he told her how Kurumu's new project was going. It was a nice distraction from her own work for a while. Following her first courtroom victory, Moka's legal practice had picked up. She was quickly making a name for herself as a champion for women that had been taken advantage of in business dealings.
Moka made use of Tsukune's investigation services in about a quarter of her cases. Most of those that came to her brought cases that were simple, needing only a confident presence and a sharp mind. The few that actually made it all the way to the court room however, those were the ones that Moka enjoyed the most.
Moka did not want to admit it to Tsukune, but a part of her missed their high school days of getting into fights with bad guys. There was a certain satisfaction to be found in using a well placed kick to put someone in their place. As that thought slipped through her mind, Moka realized something. She remembered her last fight had been at the masquerade ball after graduation. That had been the last time she had stood up beside Tsukune. The last kick she had even used had been against him to protect her family.
A chill ran through her as she remembered that night.
"Tsukune," Moka spoke up. "Do you ever resent the things I've put you though?"
"Do I?" Tsukune questioned. "No. Have I? Yes there were times, but I put you though a lot as well, so I am not in a place to judge."
"You know, if you wanted to make me happy, 'No' is where you should have stopped." Moka frowned.
"Maybe," Tsukune agreed. "But I also want to be honest with you. Remember, when we first met I still had a lot of growing up to do. Kyouko complains that I grew up too fast, but without you, I doubt I would have grown up at all before graduation."
"You shouldn't put yourself down like that," Moka scolded him.
"Moka, if it wasn't for you, where do you think I would be right now?" Tsukune asked.
"I am sure you would be working hard and doing well even without me," Moka insisted.
"If I wasn't dead," Tsukune began. "Or some kind of wild monster, I would be stuck in some mindless job. Remember Moka, it was because of you, because of my devotion to you, that I was able to resist Kurumu when she just wanted attention. It was because of your strength that we managed to survive and make the Newspaper club work, which was how I met Mizore."
"Yes, there were times I resented being told I was not good enough," Tsukune said. "But looking back it is easy to see that it was true. I out grew that resentment and replaced it with gratitude."
"Gratitude?" Moka's eyes went wide with disbelief.
"Yes," Tsukune nodded. "I give thanks for your firm guidance in helping me be a man worthy to be beside you."
"Are you sure you are worthy?" Moka's voice slipped into a deeper range as the Inner Moka personality became dominant. Tsukune's words had worked up her emotions. "I think you may be getting a little to full of yourself Tsukune."
"Yes I am worthy to be with you," Tsukune said calmly. "I know I am not perfect. I know I am going to cause you endless frustration, but I know I am worthy of you. Both of you."
"You sound a little over confident, Tsukune," Moka growled. "Maybe it has been too long since I told you to know your place?"
"My place is at your side," Tsukune said firmly. He shifted his position and went from cuddling Moka to holding her down. "I worked hard to get to where I am, and I am not going to let you go."
"Oh?" Moka challenged him with a smile. "And what if I told you no?"
"Then I would just have to show you your place, Moka," Tsukune grinned back.
"And where do you think my place should be?" Moka asked.
"At my side," Tsukune said. "As my wife and mate. As a member of my family."
"And if I decide to put up a fight?" Moka pressed.
"Then I will fight dirty," Tsukune smirked. "By calling mother." He knew how much his mother loved Moka, and how the vampire felt about the woman that had raised him.
"You are a rat," Moka accused.
"All is fair in love and war, Dame Moka," Tsukune leaned in to give her a quick kiss. "And I love you so much that I am ready to go to war to keep you."
"Tsukune," Moka purred. "You say the sweetest things." She pulled him in close for another kiss. It was a long time before they managed to go to bed that night.

"Tsukune..."
"Tsukune..." Kurumu's voice called out to him.
Tsukune fumbled his way through a long moment of confusion. Everything was a dark fog as his awareness congealed. It took a little while, but he started to see shapes, and then images. Finally he was able to put it all together and recognize what he was looking at. He found himself standing on a small hill, dressed in his Youkai Academy uniform, looking at the sea cliffs that lay beyond the campus. Blinking in wonderment, Tsukune turned towards where he heard Kurumu calling out to him.
"Kurumu?" Tsukune questioned at the sight of her. She was dressed in her old uniform as well, complete with her sweater vest, as she knelt on a picnic blanket.
"Woohoo!" Kurumu gave a cheer. "It finally worked!"
"What worked?" Tsukune questioned as he started towards her. Around him the landscape blurred as he moved forward.
"Tsukune," Kurumu gave him a naughty smile. "You know I am a succubus. You should know what I can do by now." She floated up to a standing position and reached out to embrace him with her arms around his neck. "I am inside your dream."
"You told me that was how your kind used to feed on men," Tsukune said as he thought back to some of their conversations from years ago. "But how did you get here?"
"Oh it took a lot of practice, but I finally did it," Kurumu smiled proudly at her achievement. "Remember, you and I have a special connection. You have a piece of my soul, so in a way, I am always with you."
"But why do this?" Tsukune asked.
"Because I can," Kurumu winked. "And because I want something."
"And what would that be?" Tsukune asked as he slid his hands down her back.
"Tsukune!" Kurumu gave a startled cry when he groped her bottom.
"Yes?" Tsukune ave her a crooked smile.
"That's not what I wanted," Kurumu protested.
"Oh," Tsukune started to pull his hands away.
"But it is now," Kurumu pulled him into a kiss.
The pair were quickly falling into their passion for each other. Tsukune could not help but remember the times he and Kurumu had been along together along the sea cliffs. As he remembered some of those times he felt is lust and desire rising. Kurumu felt it too, and knew where things were going.
"Wait..." Kurumu pulled away form their kissing with a gasp. "Tsukune... Wait. I nneed you to promise me something first."
"What's that?" Tsukune asked before bending in to nibble at her ear.
"Promise me..." Kurumu eyes went wide from the attention Tsukeun was giving her. "Promise that you will tell Moka about this"
"What?" Tsukune pulled back, blinking with confusion.
"I want you to tell Moka about me coming into your dreams," Kurumu explained. "Tell her about this, and tell her I want her to call me."
"Why can't you call her yourself?" Tsukune asked.
"Because I want her to know what I can do," Kurumu grinned evilly.
"But why?" Tsukune questioned.
"That is between me and Moka," Kurumu answered.
"If that is what you really want," Tsukune told her. "Then I promise, if I remember this when I wake up, then I will tell Moka."
"Good," Kurumu leaned in for more kissing. "So we better give you something exciting to talk about."

The next morning Tsukune had a hard time getting out of bed. A part of the reason was he felt like he had spent most of the night awake. It was clear that Kurumue's visit to his dream had kept him from getting any real rest. The other reason why he had trouble getting out of bed was Moka, who had wrapped herself around him some time during the night, and she had not been happy about letting go.
"Moka..." Tsukune said carefully as he tried to peel her off. "We have things to do today."
"I don't have anything that can't wait," Moka protested.
"But I need to go to the office," Tsukune insisted.
"You could take the day off and spend it with me," Moka offered.
"Tempting," Tsukune kissed her nose. "But you need to make a call."
"I do?" Moka gave him a sleepy frown.
"Kurumu wants you to call her today," Tsukune told her.
"Since when?" Moka demanded. "And how long have you known she wants to talk to me."
"She told me last night," Tsukune said, feeling nervous.
"How?" Moka's expression turned dark, and her tone hardened.
"She visited my dream," Tsukune answered.
"She what?" Moka finally let go of Tsukune so she could sit up and glare at him.
Tsukune swallowed his nervousness and gave Moka a carefully worded report of his dream meeting with Kurumu. Moka was clearly not happy with what she heard. When Tsukune finished talking, she told him he should get ready for work.
"I am going to call Kurumu," Moka said in a chilly voice. "She and I have some things to talk about."
Tsukune was smart enough to know when to stay away from women that wanted to have a talk. He simply gave Moka a nod and got out of bed while he could. As he went to get ready for the day ahead, Tsukune tried to keep from thinking about what Moka and Kurumu were going to talk about.
