When you got home your mother was making dinner, and your father was trying to fix the front door. You called both of them into the living and stood before them. Zuko stood behind you, up against the wall with his arms crossed. Now that he's feeling better you're starting to see how angsty he is. You studied your parent's faces; they looked so youthful a few days ago, but were now showing signs of ageing. Your fathers with his increasingly grey hair and wise old eyes and your mother with her dulled complexion and appearing wrinkles.

No more wasting time, the best way is to just say it now or you never will. "I'm leaving with Prince Zuko so I can find Daisuke and Kaito" you said rather bluntly, not knowing any other way to say it.

Your mother broke down crying, your father held her trying to comfort her.

"Kana please stay" your father begged "we can't lose all of our children" he spoke as if Daisuke and Kaito were dead.

"We love you, please don't leave" your mother screamed through sobs.

You felt really bad, you knew this would hurt them, but you just had to find Daisuke and Kaito. "Mom , dad I need to find them" you said sadly.

"Theirs other ways, please stay" your father reasoned.

You turned away "I need to do this"

Upon hearing this, your mother cried hysterically and your father began to cry knowing that theirs no way to change your mind.

Prince Zuko suddenly pushed himself off the wall and spoke. "I promise on my life that your daughter will return here safely with your sons" Prince Zuko stated, "you have my word" he added honorably. You stared at prince zuko.

"You would protect kana with your life?" your father question. Prince Zuko nodded. Your father turned to your mother "Saika, we need to let Kana go" he said firmly. "She knows how to take care of herself and I'm confident that Prince Zuko will protect her" he finished confidently.

Your mother continued to cry you frowned. You had to fix this somehow. You sat on your knees in front of your parents. You grabbed your mother's right hand and your father's left hand. "Mom, dad please don't cry" you said softly. "I cant sit here and wait while Daisuke and Kaito aren't here, I'll bring them home, I promise." you said soothingly as you squeezed your mother's hand, she hugged you.

"Kana I wish you weren't leaving" your mother sobbed softly.

"I know" you said as you got up. You walked into your room with Prince Zuko following. A few tears streamed down your face, you tried to hide them.

"Kana you're crying" Zuko said softly his voice filled with concern also showing you that you couldn't hide it from him.

"I'm sorry prince zuko, it's so hard to leave my parents," you said softly as you wiped your tears away.

"Now what?" Prince Zuko asked attempting to change the topic.

"I guess I'll pack, we're leaving tomorrow right?" you asked.

Prince Zuko nodded. You found a small black bag and began to put all your shirts and skirts in. you felt like Prince Zuko was watching your every move and out of the corner of your eye you saw that he was. You giggled softly. "Prince Zuko why are you watching me?" you asked with a sly smile.

He shook his head "oh um...at" Zuko rambled on completely embarrassed. You giggled again.

You finished packing your clothes, so you packed things you couldn't live without like your favorite vanilla body wash, a brush, and a few other items you would need. Then you grabbed your duel swords and placed everything by the door. Your whole life was in two small bags.

By this time zuko was sitting on your bed, it was actually getting pretty late.

"You can sleep here again if you want" you offered. You weren't sure if he was going to sleep here on his ship.

Zuko nodded a thank you.

"No problem" you replied with a smile though it was somewhat forced.

You and zuko talked for a little longer but as it got later you decided to go to sleep, you're leaving early anyway. Zuko is sleeping in your room again so you're sleeping in Daisuke and Kaito's room, which made you really sad. But you soon fell asleep.

(Zuko)

You lay awake in kana's bed, you just couldn't sleep, theirs been so much on your mind lately, well mostly Kana has been on your mind. Since her brothers have been taken her smiles have seemed forced.

'I know she's sad about her brothers, but I miss her smiles' you thought.

You really did miss kana's real smiles; they were so sweet and caring. You want to make kana happy again. You rolled over so your now laying on your stomach, you buried your face in the pillow in an attempt to sleep, but that failed because all you could smell was vanilla and sugar, it smelled like kana. Now all you wanted to do was be close to kana, these thoughts confused you but in a good way. I mean you know you like kana but this is all so new to you. You will not be sleeping easy tonight.

(kana)

Your restless sleep ended soon after it started. You couldn't stand being in your brother's room, it hurt too much knowing that Kaito wasn't snoring away in his bed and that daisuke isn't asleep in the living room.

You swiftly got up and quietly you fixed your shirt, skirt and hair, then you exited the room and walked to the living room. You noticed a light coming from the front of the house; you guessed that your mother just forgot to blow out the candle. You walked to the light and to your surprise you found your mother attempting to light a fire to make tea. You walked towards her.

"Mom what are you doing awake?" you asked quietly.

"I couldn't sleep," she said with a tired sigh.

You used your bending to light the fire. Your mom nodded a thank you.

"Why are you still awake, your leaving early aren't you?" she said looking away.

You sat at the table in silence as your mom made tea. When it was finished she handed you a cup. You sat in an awkward silence; you just didn't know what to say. You and your mother finished the tea.

"You know I'm sorry mom" you said feeling guilty.

"I know, we just don't want to lose you too," your mother said sadly.

You got up and stood by your mom. You put a hand on your shoulder. "Mom you wont lose me, I'll just be gone for a little while" you said softly.

Your mom turned to you "you've become such a beautiful young women, when I was your age I couldn't wear the outfits you wear" she said with a laugh, you giggled. "You're a strong women, capable of anything, I've always supported you but it hurts to see my baby leaving. All aside and I know I cant convince you to stay but I wish you'd just stay home and find a nice boyfriend" she continued.

You sighed, "Mom, you know that's not me," you said.

She laughed. "I know but I can hope, I want grandchildren one day and my only hope is you, those knucklehead brothers of yours will be lucky to find someone to deal with them."

"One day mom, but not for a very long time" you laughed and hugged your mom. "I'm going to sleep on the couch tonight ok," you said. Your mom nodded as you walked into the living room.
