It's been 6 months since Natsu and Lucy's arranged marriage. Natsu has never seen Lucy as a woman but as a pawn in his game. On the way home after work, Lucy watches as Natsu passionately makes out with one of his married coworker. Who will Lucy turn to for comfort? (Set in the normal world)

12. Inescapable Fate

In this part of the story, it will be more on Natsu and Lisanna's point of views to give a little insight on their lives and what they really feel towards certain things.

That's it. I've had enough of this already. I'm tired of hiding, tired of always fleeing the scene where I have done clearly nothing wrong.

With my strengthened resolve, I firmly grab the doorknob and barge into the room.

What? I looked about the room in utter shock.

"Slam"

An excruciating surge of pain pierces through my head.

I blacked out.

Chapter 12~ Inescapable Fate

My head is pounding and my vision is still a blur.

All I hear is the sound of Lisanna shrieking in the background and I finally snap back to reality.

I have to run. I know that in my heart but my legs don't seem to work for some reason.

"Lucy run!" Natsu warned.

I staggered out of the room and into the streets and started sprinting as fast as I could. The dark sky illuminated by the light of the stars loom before me.

I was running as fast as I could, the harsh winds opposing me struggles to suppress me, but I persevere and continue to run.

Not turning back, I finally see the sight of the story-high skyscrapers penetrating through the sky.

"Are you Mrs. Dragneel?" Men in black suits suddenly approached me out of nowhere as I arrived in the outskirts of the city.

"We need you to come with us."

"We work for Mr. Laxus Dreyar."

In The Dreyar Manor

I am "escorted" more like manhandled into a huge office, filled with towering mahogany shelves that contain valuable books and documents.

"Please take a seat Mrs. Dragneel." A bulky man with spiky blond hair directs me to a seat.

"By now I assume you are aware of the ongoing affair between our spouses I presume?" The man who I assume must be Mr. Dreyar makes haste and gets straight to the point.

"Yes, I am fully aware of that." With my most dignified voice I answer.

"I do not intend to separate from my wife so I would like to make an agreement between the two of us."

"An agreement?"

"Divorce Natsu."

"What? I will not divorce my husband!" A hellish rage burns within me as I passionately declare my reply to his remark.

"I do not see the problem. He has been unfaithful to you and yet you still want to be with him? This agreement is beneficial to you and I so why not divorce him?

"Hold on. Even if I did divorce him, how would it benefit you?" I am bewildered by his demand.

"That is none of your concern. The point is, my decision is absolute and you will obey no matter the circumstances. I will arrange for the divorce papers to be sent to your home tomorrow so you need not worry about the paperwork."

"Wait! I haven't agreed to that yet!"

"Mrs. Dragneel, It seems you do not understand your position right now. At this point in time, you don't have much cards to play."

Huh? What does he mean by that?

"If you will not comply, you will learn of the consequences the hard way."

With Natsu(Lisanna's POV)

"Natsu you imbecile! You let her get away!"

"Are you out of your mind trying to murder my wife!"

"Don't act like you're suddenly the good guy now Natsu! You and I both know that you don't love her anyways!"

'That doesn't give you the right to kill her LIsanna. Be a little bit more calm and wise about your decisions Lisanna. If you kill her, your secrets die with her, but you will be thrown in prison for life or even get executed Lisanna!"

"This is all your fault!" The bubbling rage urges me to grab the next thing that comes into vision and throw it at Natsu.

"Owwww!" Natsu rubs the sore spot left by the book I threw onto his face.

"Anyways, I want you to divorce Lucy."

"What?'

"You heard me. Leave that woman."

"You failed me Natsu. Now it is time to pay the price." I pick myself up and brush the dirt off my clothes as I leave the Dragneel Residence.

"Ring!"

The caller ID on my phone is displayed as anonymous.

"Hello?"

"Its me."

"Great timing Honey, the plan is falling into place."

"Ha ha ha of course, as expected, you never fail me."

"Soon, they'll be biting the dust and left out on the streets when we claim what is rightfully ours and avenge your father."

His legacy will continue.

Chapter 13~ Eternal Legacy

The sound of the pen ink smudging on the paper feels like forever as I watch my beloved sign the document that will officially separate us both.

It is finally done and I am liberated from a married life.

But…
