Another letter answers my queries saying that I have acceded to become the CEO of all Dragneel related corporations and the rightful owner to all of their property through a debt that the Dragneel could not pay and thus had to mortgage all their property. However, what was the debt that it could be an amount this large? And most importantly, why am I the one to accede to this position? Have they really relinquished their wealth?

Chapter 15~ Bitter Tears

Lucy's POV

The sound of my heels clacking on the marble floor seem to echo and my employees stand up in my presence to bow and greet me as their new boss. Pride and esteem rose up within me as I finally felt the taste of victory and power.

I stand before the ex-Dragneel Studios, now renamed to Heartfilia Studios with power in my very hands. The grand mahogany doors open to reveal a luxurious and spacious office with a premium leather chair and a glittering glass desk. The walls of the office are completely transparent and see-through, exposing the austere grandeur of Magnolia's glistening skyline filled with neon lights that contrast the dark sky.

I carefully run my fingers through the carefully engraved plaque on my desk that writes the words: "LUCY HEARTFILIA, CEO". That plaque was proof and evidence of my power that was finally bestowed upon me but I now ponder, how did I obtain this power?

To clear my suspicions, I dial the number for Mr. Dreyar's office since he was the one supposedly handling the lawsuit he forced me into.

"Ring." The shrill sound of the phone resounds through the room.

"Hello? This is Mr. Dreyar's office how may I help you?" Instead, his secretary answers.

"This is Ms. Lucy Heartfilila, I am quite acquainted with Mr. Dreyar and would like to schedule an appointment with him this afternoon if I may since the matter is urgent and requires immediate attention."

"Very well, I will notify Mr. Dreyar and let you know the appointment timing scheduled for you Ms. Heartfilia."

What on earth did he do to force the Dragneel Family into ruins, show me your true intentions Mr. Dreyar, I might have a vendetta against their family, but what is the rationale behind all your actions?

Natsu's POV

An intense blast of sunlight hits me straight in the eyes as I wake upon the chirping of the birds and the crowing of roosters in the early morning. I wake up startled, in a daze, trying to recollect memories of yesterday. 'I have to get a way to talk to Lucy and make things right before it's too late.' My designer clothes are tattered and in rags giving me the appearance of a lonely vagrant left out on the streets. I was somehow able to get through the night by seeking shelter at a nearby park bench, my self-esteem was buried 100 feet into the ground and my pride trampled and crippled like trash.

I walk the streets of Magnolia with passersbys looking at me with scorn and disdain with a tinge of sympathy but mosty disgust. Indeed even I myself was disgusted by my own being at this very moment.

Arriving at my destination, I looked upon the towering skyscraper that was once mine but now under the name "Heartfilia Studios". Just my luck, I would probably bee bound to meet Lucy if I just wait outside her office until she comes out. Looking through the thick branches and sharp leaves of the nearby shrubbery, I scope the premises in search of my wife.

Upon hours and hours of waiting, I finally catch a glimpse of my wife's signature golden hair that I once held and carressed with "love and care". Ignoring the twigs and razor sharp leaves that pierce my skin, I leap out of the bushes so I wouldn't lose sight of Lucy. Blood runs down my wounds and are visible through the holes of my battered clothing, staining them with a rust colored substance that was once red but has oxidized in the wide open.

"Lucy!" My voice stained with desperation and need.

She turns back to look at me and the face she gives me almost looks like a look of sympathy and remorse. However, her gaze shifts to my condition and her expression immediately changes into worry and concern.

Reaching out for her, I was stopped in my tracks as something large obstructs my path. I turn to look at the intervening object and it turns out that she hired bodyguards to protect her. 'Hmph, why didn't I think of that? She is the main topic of the headlines right now, of course she'd hired a couple bodyguards.'

Grabbing me by the forearms, the men in black manhandle me as I fall to the floor. Finally, the pain from the wounds earlier start to kick in but I ignore it and stand up with a bit of pride in my voice, demanding to speak with my own wife.

"May I speak to Lucy?" My voice stands firm but inside, I am shaking with fear and regret.

Lucy pushes her bodyguards aside and I am actually captivated by her beauty that I never noticed before. Her long golden locks were in soft curls, her fringe was in a deep side part that was held together by a classic pin that complemented her well. She wore a designer white blouse, neatly tucked into a knee-length pitch black pencil skirt and her overall look was topped with a prim blazer suit that fell perfectly with her body shape. As I was lost in thought, Lucy snapped me back to reality but what she asks next is not what I expect.

"Natsu! What happened to you? Are you alright?" Her face etched with distress and tone full of worry.

I weakly stand before her, trying to comprehend the situation but my knees go weak and I give in to a deep slumber that was well deserved after all that happened to me in the span of two days. My conciousness was fading out and before I completely black out, a figure rescues me from my suffering.

Third Person POV

Lurking deep in the shadows, a mysterious entity witnesses the scene unfolding.

"Hmph, interesting, I didn't think you would have that big of a heart you fool."

She once loved him, was betrayed but loved him still.

Lucy's POV

Shocked by the state of Natsu was in, I commanded my bodyguards to take him inside the car and bring him home with me as taking him to a hospital would risk scandalous stories to be whipped up. He was battered and pummeled, his handsome features covered in dirt and dust, his clothes in a state of rags and his health was not in mint condition. 'Damn it! I invited him over tonight but if he knew Natsu was here, he'd be enraged!'

I instruct my staff to nurse Natsu back to health as I safely tuck him away in the guest room which is in a different compound from my own home as I did not want to risk Natsu wandering off to somewhere I didn't want him to be.

The sweet aroma of roses wafts throughout the room as the lights were dimmed and illuminated by the soft light of candles lit everywhere. I put on a dainty pink chiffon gown and proceed into the boudoir where he awaits.

In the guest compound, Natsu has awoken but does not pursue Lucy as of tonight. Instead, towering skyscrapers of alcohol bottles overwhelm the small table it is placed on. One by one, the bottles are emptied, trying to overcome obstacles in life by drowning in a sweet bliss that would never last.

A couple is seen lounging in the luxurious boudoir that belongs to none other than Ms. Heartfilia as she tries to drown herself in ignorance that felt like ecstasy, hoping to find it in the heart of another man she knew very well and a man that was there from the very beginning.

"So Lucy, now that Natsu is out of the picture, there will be no more obstruction in the way of our relationship right?"

"Of course not my darling."
