Things between you and Prince Zuko have been awkward. He always catches you staring at him and when you're not staring at him, you catch him staring at you. Most of the crew still harasses you but some of them have stopped and a few even stick up for you.
Right now you're in the control room with Prince Zuko, Iroh, the helmsmen and a few crewmen. You're having tea with Iroh, while Prince Zuko is studying a map.
"How am I going to find the avatar Uncle? He's clearly a master of evasive maneuvering" Prince Zuko said somewhat pathetically.
You looked at the map; there were marks everywhere the avatar has been spotted. 'Wow that kid gets around' you thought.
Prince Zuko sat down and leaned on his arm. You took a sip of tea.
"Oh Prince Zuko I almost forgot to tell you. The chef heard that the avatar was on Kyoshi Island" Iroh said.
Prince Zuko jumped up "What!" he yelled as he slammed his hands on the table, spilling the hot pot of tea all over your formerly white outfit, you screamed in shock.
Prince Zuko's eyes widened. "Ah Kana! I'm so sorry" Prince Zuko pleaded.
You sighed regaining your composure, "its fine" you said then you stood up and mumbled "the one freaking day I wear white. Your once white halter-top and skirt with a cherry blossom design is now stained.
Prince Zuko was looking down sadly, you could tell he felt really bad about spilling the tea on you.
"Prince Zuko" you said, he looked at you "please don't worry about it, I'll just go change," you said. He nodded still feeling bad. You frowned but walked out of the room. As you left you heard Prince Zuko tell the helmsmen to head to Kyoshi Island.
On the way to Prince Zuko's room you were harassed a few times but you ignored them all, you still wanted to punch them but you decided against it.
You changed into a black strapless top that ended at the bottom of your rib cage and a scarlet skirt. You went back up to the control room.
When you walked in everyone looked at you, you walked back to the table and sat down where you were before the whole Zuko's temper and tea incident.
"I'm sorry Kana" Prince Zuko repeated.
"Its fine you don't have to apologize, it was an accident, besides its just clothes" you replied with a smile.
Later that day the ship neared Kyoshi Island. The soldiers prepared the rhinos...wait Rhinos!? You need to talk to Prince Zuko now!
You found the foul tempered prince on deck staring at Kyoshi Island; it was only a few miles away. You walked up to him.
"Um Prince Zuko I heard something about rhinos?" you said timidly.
"Yeah we'll be riding them into the village" Prince Zuko replied.
Your eyes widened slightly in fear. Honestly you do love all animals, in their own way, rhinos are cool, it's just your scared of large powerful animals. You've heard horror stories about rhinos and that they were violent creatures. Yeah theirs no way you're getting on one.
"I'm going run," you said.
"Why not ride a rhino?" Prince Zuko asked puzzled.
You didn't want to tell him that you're terrified, "its been a while since I've gotten a chance to run on solid ground, I miss it" you lied, thought not completely because you really do want to run.
He looked at you skeptically "are you sure? Will you be able to keep up?" he asked concerned.
"I outran you," you said with a giggle.
Prince Zuko smiled a little.
Once the ship got to Kyoshi Island you, Prince Zuko, the soldiers and the rhinos got off the ship. Iroh stayed on the ship with a few crewmen.
You didn't want to run near the rhinos so you told Prince Zuko that you're were going to run through the woods. Your excuse was you if you got tired you didn't want to be in the rhino's way. Thankfully he believed you and didn't question it.
Prince Zuko and the rhinos beat you to the village but that was only because you miscalculated a ditch and had to climb out of it.
When you got there, Prince Zuko was already fighting the avatar and most of the village was on fire. You felt bad for the people, but you didn't want to yell at Prince Zuko about it. You frowned at all the destruction.
Suddenly a Kyoshi warrior attacked you. She seemed to be the leader, you easily dodged all of her attacks, and you even took out your dual swords and defended yourself with them.
After a while the Kyoshi warrior noticed that you never attack only defended.
"Why aren't you fighting back?" the girl yelled angrily, she sounded really offended.
"I didn't come here to fight" you said calmly as you jumped back.
"Oh really then you came to destroy our village and capture the avatar" the girl yelled as she tried to kick you.
"Neither of those, Prince Zuko is here to capture the avatar but I'm not" you said as you blocked an attack.
"Then why are you here?" she yelled angrily.
"I'm looking for my brothers Kaito a waterbender and Daisuke an earthbender" you said.
The moment you said daisuke's name she dropped her fans. "You're Kana" she said slowly
You got out of your defensive stance and nodded.
"Daisuke was here, about two weeks ago, he said he wouldn't go home unless he found your other brother Kaito. He mentioned you a lot, he said you were injured when he was taken; he was really worried about you. He also mentioned that you're a firebender," the girl explained.
You felt tears in your eyes, daisuke got away from the fire nation, and he's alive.
"Kana come on!" Prince Zuko yelled. You noticed that he was the only firebender left in the village.
You turned to the girl, "thank you so much" you said gratefully.
The girl nodded "your brother was right, not all firebenders are bad" she said nobly "I'm Suki by the way" she said " I hope you find your brothers."
"Thank you and I'm so sorry about your village, Prince Zuko tends to lose his temper, he's actually pretty sweet once you get to know him." you said.
"I'll have to take your word for it, besides we'll rebuild it" Suki said with a smile.
You nodded and ran towards Prince Zuko's ship, you were very amused when the unagi soaked Prince Zuko. You couldn't help but laugh
When you got on the ship Prince Zuko spotted you smiling and humming on deck.
"Why are you so happy?" he asked curiously.
You smiled brightly "the leader of the kyoshi warriors said Daisuke was there two weeks ago" you said happily. "Prince Zuko, Daisuke is alive, he escaped." the news from today made you so happy.
You found yourself thinking of your cherry blossom tree in your clearing by now the bark should start looking a little like it used to. You like the cherry blossom tree started to become like your old self. You're still not back to normal but the future looks bright, as cheesy as that sounds.
