I just love righting stories that don't have anything that belong to me except maybe for the plot mostly. *sigh* Do I really need to say it? Please? Fine! I really don't own Charmed or the characters or their powers or what they do with their powers. Oh, wait. Uh...oops. I write this story so scratch that last thing. I'll just let you read and continue the story! R&R All mistakes ARE mine!
"Hey, sleepy head."
Chris slowly opened his jade eyes then looked for who had spoken to him.
"Mom?" He asked in the not-so-usual childish voice and Piper's heart once again broke for the hundredth time in one day and it was all because of the witch-lighter laying on the bed. Quickly strolling over to Chris, Piper laid her hands on his shoulders and looked Chris straight in his tired eyes.
"No, it's me Chris." She had to add because he still looked like he was in fog, "Piper."
"I'm sorry, mom." Was what Chris replied to her.
"Ohh, Chris." Piper shook him a little, "It's me, Piper! Wake up!"
Chris' eyes suddenly cleared and he began to notice where he happened to be. Instead of being in the back room in the P3, he was in the manor. More importantly Paige's bed and Piper was in a chair on the side of it.
"Pi...Piper," Chris tried not to blush to much, "Wha...what are you doing in here?"
"Well, I live here." Piper stated with a you-know-that tone that soon changed into a warm smile, "And I said that I would be here when you woke up."
"Uh..." Chris didn't know what to say, "Thanks...I guess."
"No problem." Piper stared right at his face in the middle of thought.
"Earth to Piper." Chris waved his hand in front of her face and she blinked, "Earth to Piper!"
"Yeah, I'm here." Piper blinked again before looking away.
"And you always said that I daydreamed a lot." Chris muttered under his breath.
"What?" Piper looked back at him.
"I just said," Chris made up a quick lie, "That you must tend to daydream a lot."
"Oh, okay..." Chris wouldn't meet her dark brown eyes, "I guess I do."
"That's just how you create some unique dreams." Chris added quickly while diverting his eyes from the floor to Piper.
"Yeah." Piper wasn't sure but she started to think that he was trying to make her feel better.
Neither talked for what felt like hours and they just stared at the objects in the room.
"What's my second son like?" Piper asked suddenly and Chris looked up at her quickly.
"What?" Chris asked with a bit of shock and Piper looked at him.
"What's my second son like?" Piper asked again.
"Well, I can't tell you too much because...well, you know-" Chris tried getting out of telling her about himself even if she didn't know that he was her second child.
"Future consequences." Piper interrupted, "Can't you just tell me somethings that won't harm anyone."
"I probably shouldn't though." Chris hesitated when Piper looked at him dejectedly.
"Please." Piper begged Chris with shiny brown eyes.
"Well," Chris thought in his head what to say, "He isn't evil if that's what you're wondering."
Piper sighed in relief of what he had just said.
"He happens to be the leader of the Resistance, a group of witches, mortals, and demons alike against Wyatt and his minions." At Piper's worried look, he tried to reassure her that it wasn't what she was thinking, "The Resistance doesn't try to take Wyatt out because he's either too powerful or people care too much about him. All we do is help innocents that need help and try to stop demons from killing more."
"Oh." Piper was a little lost, "What about you?"
"Me?" Chris was surprised.
"Yeah, what about you?" Piper looked straight at Chris, "What's your favorite color? What's your part in this Resistance? Or favorite hobby? And I don't count the reading the Book of Shadows or hunting demons as a hobby."
"Well," Chris began with looking deep in thought, "I really like blue but green and red come in second, I help...uhh...lead the Resistance, and I may be a 'little neurotic freak' as you so kindly state me as but I don't have that much neurosis."
"What's your favorite hobby?" Piper asked after laughing at the annoyed look on Chris' face.
"Well," Chris gazed at the floor, "You'd laugh if you ever knew."
"Oh come on," Piper stated with a pretend insulted hurt voice, "I'm not that bad."
"Well..." Chris looked up at Piper's face which was looking straight at him, "I used to love listening to music on my Mp3 player."
"What songs?" Piper tried not to sound interested so that he would tell her.
"Uhh..." Chris caught her anyways, "I can't say."
"Why not?" Piper knew perfectly why.
"Nothing to do with future consequences, trust me." Chris forced out the last part in sadness, "It's just that my favorite music could disappear."
"Oh..." Piper was a bit confused as how she could make it not happen, "Any other?"
"Uhh..." Chris began to blush slightly, "I also used to draw and...and..."
"What...and what?" Piper childishly tried to encourage him to continue.
"I used to..." Chris blushed a dark salmon color, "Si...sing."
"You what?" Piper just couldn't believe what she had just heard.
"You heard me." Chris stated quietly like a little kid afraid of being laughed at.
"You what?" Piper asked again.
"I used to sing." Chris sighed then a peeved mask fell over his face.
"Are you the same whitelighter I know or what?" Piper teased him in a loving voice.
"I'm a witchlighter." Chris was still a little bit annoyed.
"And here comes our 'little neurotic freak' again." Piper continued to tease him.
"Yeah," Chris looked around the room, "Whatever."
"Hey!" Piper shouted out playfully while slapping him gently on the back of his head.
"What was that for?!" Chris looked up at her in surprise.
"For being such a neurotic annoying lying whitelighter." Piper responded quickly.
"Witchlighter." Chris emphasized with even more annoyance.
"For being such a neurotic annoying lying witchlighter." Piper noticed his expression change, "And almost getting yourself killed and almost getting an athame stuck in Paige's face and-"
"Wait?" Chris looked looked up in slight horror, "There's more isn't there?"
"Just that I'm sorry about being so mean to you." Chris' eyes grew as big as saucer plates, "We all are."
"You don't need to apologize Piper." Chris blurted when he found his voice.
"Yes I do." Piper looked at him sadly, "We were being so mean to you and all you proved was that you were protecting Wyatt and...my second child. I'm sorry about everything."
"It's ok." Chris replied shortly.
"No, it's not." Piper's parent instinct came out, "You're still hurt badly because of it and bottling it up will never work."
"Are you the same non-whitelighter Piper I know or what?" Chris repeated her question with a bit of a chuckle. "Because you're really sounding like one."
"I am Piper." Piper looked at herself, "At least I'm pretty sure that I'm Piper. I am Piper!"
"And here comes our Piper again." Chris laughed at her fake annoyed face which was terrible.
"Yeah," Piper crossed her arms in mock hurt, "Here I come. Better be scared."
"Oh," Chris tried looking scared but totally failed, "I'm so terrified."
"You better be." Piper teased him gently.
"Or what?" Chris asked childishly.
"Or you're staying here forever." Chris looked at her sadly and Piper wondered why.
"So..." Chris looked at the doorway after a minutes silence, "I should get going."
He started to twist his way out of bed but was once again shoved into the blankets.
"You are not going anywhere." Piper said in her motherly voice that a parent uses on their children when they are in trouble.
"But I have to find the demon who turns-" Chris rushed to say.
"Wyatt. I know, you know, we all know!" She looked at him but he wasn't watching her, "But you're going to burn yourself out or worse."
"Yeah, but-" Chris was interrupted.
"Chris Perry! We really don't need you passing out on us." Piper said sternly then softened up some, "Do you think it will help Wyatt if you faint in the middle of an attack?"
Chris wisely didn't voice his thoughts like he was going to so he stayed silent.
"No." Piper answered for him, "How long has it been since you've eaten?"
Chris was about to open his mouth when she continued.
"No, Chris." Piper's voice turned stern again, "I mean, something healthy and home cooked. Since when have you last slept a whole night? Since when have you stopped chasing after demons for even one night?"
Chris still didn't answer her questions.
"You're going to sleep more and then you're going to eat something," Piper saw that he was going to protest, "I'll make some blueberry pancakes if, of course, you like those."
"Sure, mom." Chris stated sarcastically with a deeper meaning that Piper didn't notice. Piper got up from the bed and headed for the door.
"Yeah, I love those." Chris finally responded with a happy inner feeling blooming.
"Huh?" Piper asked with confusion at the doorway.
"The pancakes," Chris stated in a jaded voice, "Blueberry pancakes."
"Oh, ok." Piper started out the doorway.
"And Piper." Chris grew serious, "Sorry about...well, you know..."
"Chris," Piper looked back at him, "You just had a big breakdown. You may have had the right to do that or maybe not but it's done and you can't take it back. Besides, we learned some more about my younger son."
"Thanks." Chris closed his eyes.
"What for?" Piper asked with a surprised gasp.
"I don't know." Chris stated with an emotionless monotone then he whispered, "For everything."
He didn't know that Piper had heard what he had said.
Chris again fell asleep with Piper starring at him from the door and she turned and walked out of the room. Suddenly a vase on the counter to the side of the bed glowed bright red before it shifted into the outline of a man. It quickly disappeared to reveal a dark dressed guy who shuffled over Chris. Stretching his hand onto Chris' chest, he looked at the door to make sure no on was going to enter the room.
"Looks like it's round two for you 'saboteur'." With that, he shimmered both him and Chris away in ripples.
"Woah, Piper..." Paige entered the kitchen to find two plates full of blueberry pancakes, orange juice, and fried eggs sitting on the table, "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," Piper kept cooking, "Just fine."
"Then where's the army?" Paige gazed around the kitchen into the living room not seeing anyone.
"Upstairs."
"You mean," Paige slowly asked her with a skeptical expression, "That Chris is eating that all?"
"Yeah."
"Sis, I really don't think he could eat all of that," Paige looked at it and shook her head.
"Paige, he really needs it." Piper responded with a bit of regret.
"What's everyone doing down here?" Phoebe stuck her head around into the kitchen, "Okay, where's the troops?"
"Great! Now you need a huge group just to make a couple of pancakes." Piper stated sarcastically while flipping a pancake over.
"If that's what you think is a couple of pancakes," Phoebe responded, "Then I'd hate to see what a lot of them would be to you."
"Yeah, I'll admit it!" Piper put the pancake on a new plate, "This is quite a few pancakes."
"A few?" Paige playfully questioned her sister who gave her a look.
"Fine!" Piper groaned, "A lot! There, you happy?"
"No," Paige walked over to the plates, "But I will be if you give me some of them."
Piper just shook her head at her youngest sister then turned towards her other sister.
"Will you go get him, please?" Phoebe turned to the stairs and was soon gone from sight.
"So..." Paige didn't know what to say at moment.
"Great." Piper stated sadly while putting a tasty pancake on an empty plate.
"You ok?" Paige stopped eating her food long enough to ask her question.
"Why does everyone think that I'm not ok?" Piper throw her hands in the air and a vase to the side accidentally shattered.
"You're just acting..." Paige paused to think of the right word to use, "Strange. Maybe those hormones going crazy from being pregnant?"
"Oh, Paige." Piper cried out in misery, "We were so mean to him! We should have seen that he was hurt! His clothes don't even fit like they should because he's so malnourished. I'm a chef for sakes! I should have seen it! What kind of people are we if we won't even help a person from the future who needs it? He won't even acknowledge the fact that we were wrong. He didn't want us to apologize to him. He even thanked us for everything."
"Piper!" Paige rubbed her hand on Piper's shoulder to calm her down, "We were mean to him but we were doing it for family. And now we're going to stop it from ever continuing so calm down!"
"Ya but-" Piper was interrupted by Paige who grabbed her shoulders hardly.
"But what? You're going to do your best now that you know about it better!" Paige reassured her.
"When did you connect so much to your whitelighter side?" Piper then began to joke around, "Or have you been hanging around Leo to much lately?"
"Who says that it has to be Leo?" Paige stated mysteriously with a bit of a playful smirk on her face.
"So you hang around-" Piper was again interrupted but by a panicked yell.
"PIPER!" Came Phoebe's shout from upstairs, "PAIGE! PIPER! CHRIS IS GONE!"
The two dropped everything that they were holding including their conversation and ran up the stairs into the room to see Phoebe standing by a now empty bed.
"He better not have orbed away." Piper said in an irritated tone.
"I hope not." Paige responded in a quiet voice.
"I really don't think-" Phoebe touched the bed where he was laying minutes before when she felt the familiar tug of a premonition gripping her and her world transformed.
PREMONITION
It was dark and flames flickered revealing a painful looking Chris chained to a cave wall. He had scratches, cuts, burns, and almost everything else that could happen to a person. A man with his face hidden from sight walked up to Chris, who looked as if he was barely awake. Taking out a double bladed athame, he pointed it at Chris' neck.
"If you won't tell me what I wish to find," He threatened Chris, "Then there are more harmful ways to do it."
"I doubt it," Chris weakly answered, "I'll never tell you! No matter how much you torture me!"
"Fine," He held the knife more tightly, "But I gave you a chance."
With that he swiped the dagger onto Chris' unsuspecting face and Chris screamed out in pain.
"Syrilea," The man turned over to the opposite direction of Chris where three shimmers appeared into two men and a woman, "Do what you wish. Just don't let him die because if you do, you better take off real fast. My pet can't die yet but he will wish that he had taken my offer sooner. I'll be back in...ahh...about an hours time, hear me?"
"Yes, your majesty." The woman, who was dressed up in black tight leather, bowed down to the man.
"Good." He stated in a dark deep voice before he shimmered out of the dark cave.
"Ready to have some fun boys?" Syrilea asked the two men wickedly while they both had growing evil smirks appearing on the faces. Quickly moving her right arm in an upward motion as if she were holding a cup in the palm of her hand, she formed a fireball and leaned on one leg.
"Don't worry whitelighter. This will just hurt...a lot!" With that she chuckled in a cold tone before she tossed the fireball.
END PREMONITION
"NOOOOOOO!" Phoebe shouted loudly, "LEAVE HIM ALONE!"
"Phoebe," Piper helped Phoebe up from where she fell on the bed while shaking her, "What did you see?"
"Oh My God!" Phoebe cried out as tears slide down her cheeks, "Chris is in trouble."
"What?" Piper had not expected that to be said.
"No," Phoebe grabbed a map of the world and a crystal that lay hidden in the room, "Chris is going to die! We have to save him!"
"Grab some vanquishing potions." Piper quickly told to Paige who ran out of the room.
"The spell, the spell." Phoebe reminded her as she waved the crystal around above the map.
"GOT IT!" All three said after a minute. Paige had three bottles of potions, Piper had a copy of the spell from the book, and the crystal dropped on the map for Phoebe.
"Let's go!" Paige grabbed both of her sisters arms before they disappeared in a cloud of orbs and reformed.
It was pitch black except for the flickering of the occasional flames hanging on the torches on the walls of the cavern. Walking around, they didn't notice anything until they suddenly tasted bittersweet copper and smelt burnt clothing and skin. Quickly running towards the terrible stench, they all halted in a brighter yet smaller cave. What they saw almost made them cry.
There were black patches on the cavern walls that indicated that some fireballs hit the wall and various weapons littered the floor. A puddle of bright red blood was forming underneath a seriously wounded Chris, who was laying unconscious on his left side which meant his backside was to the sisters.
"Chris!" Phoebe cried out in pain while rushing over to him with her two sisters flagging her sides.
When they gathered toward his side, while unsuccessfully trying to avoid the wet sticky substance on the floor, they grabbed his shoulders gently before they slowly turned him over to inspect his injuries. They all gasped in surprise.
There were burns, cuts, scraps, and other wounds but the worst was the huge jagged gash that had darkening crimson crusted on it that went from his upper left side of his face and stopped on his right cheek. Picking Chris up carefully in their arms, the Charmed Ones quickly but quietly searched around to make sure that no demons were nearby to catch them and all four disappeared in swirling orbs of light.
Lights of white and blue filled the attic by the couch before forming into their respected persons. The three sisters laid Chris softly onto the old lumpy but yet comfortable sofa where he moaned when he accidentally touched his shoulder to the padding.
"Leo!" Phoebe shouted to the ceiling.
"Leo!" Paige shouted a few seconds after no orbs appeared.
"Leo!" Both of them yelled at the ceiling then looked over at Piper expectantly.
"What?" Piper looked up then sighed, "Leo!"
Nothing happened like it hadn't been.
"Leo! Leo?" Piper paused and continued when once again no one came, "LEO! GET YOU'RE ASS DOWN HERE THIS INSTANT! I SWEAR I WILL BLOW YOU TO THE GHOSTLY PLANE AND THEN FIND A WAY TO BRING YOU-"
"Blessed be." Leo orbed in before she could continue with her angry rant to attract Leo's attention, "Whoa, calm down, Piper. Calm down."
"Calm down, calm down!?" Piper shouted angrily at Leo's face, "Why didn't you come?! Why don't you ever come to our calls on time?! Chris over here needs healing really badly, Wyatt 'supposedly' going to turn evil and all you can say is calm down!"
"Calm Piper." Leo smoothly spoke while he grabbed Piper's hands and lead her to a chair where she sat down and began crying gently.
"You have to heal Chris." Phoebe stated with tears in rushing down her cheeks from the emotions in the room. Both Paige and Phoebe walked over to Piper and both sat down by her, trying to comfort her. Ten minutes later, Leo strolled into the room and quickly hugged Piper.
"He'll be fine." Leo explained after he was able to calm Piper down, "He just needs the rest so I covered him with a blanket. He should sleep for about twelve hours but don't be scared if he happens to sleep for even longer because he still has really bad malnutrition and his body needs to save up energy."
Leo stood up with Piper by his side and whispered into her ear. She finally let his arm go before he orbed back 'up there'.
"Let's go make some tea." Paige tried get her sisters to move around.
"I'll get Wyatt." Piper walked up the stairs with a clink clink clink.
24 Hours later...
It was dark. In a medium-sized cave stood three demons with flame lit torches casting light in the middle of the room. The one in front of the other two clearly was the boss and the others were bowing slightly to the leader. Waves flicked in a darker area by the wall but they didn't notice it.
"Well, boys, I say we did a wonderful job in playing with his pet." She spat the last two words with disgust. The person who had shimmered in, walked up right behind her without her taking any notice.
"And he thought that we wouldn't kill him." She laughed evilly, "That stupid old-"
"Syrilea!" He shouted and she only widened her eyes slightly but other than that, she didn't move nor did she turn around.
"Yes, your majesty?" She tried for innocent.
"Drop the act, Syrilea!" He lowered his voice some, "It may work on some stupid old useless demon but it WON'T work on ME."
"Yes, your majesty." She lowered her eyes and squinted in anger.
"Syrilea, turn and face me." He commanded and she spun around, "I know what you did."
"What are you talking about?" She still tried for innocent.
"DROP THE ACT!" He shouted loudly without any anger.
"Yes, your majesty." She started messing with her nails.
"Now, I know what you did." He took a step towards her, "You let my pet escape!"
She was quiet.
"My pet was the most important part of the plan!" He raised his voice, "I need him to tell me what happens in the future!"
"Sorry, your majesty." She continued examining her nails.
"NO!" She looked up, "You screwed up so you need to help fix it!"
"And how do I do that?" She asked rudely with disrespect.
"You will..." He replied and laid out the whole plan on her part.
Chris slowly woke up to see blurry images and he rubbed his eyes. As he woke even more, he noticed that he was laid out on a couch instead of a cave floor. And not just any couch, but the couch in the manor. He looked up at the ceiling then took in everything around the room before settling on a sleeping Paige, who sat on a chair covered in a fuzzy blanket by his right side. Chris shifted on the sofa and accidentally made Paige wake up.
"Hey, sleepy head." Paige softly whispered sleepily.
"Aw, what is it with you people saying that?" Chris muttered.
"Huh?" Paige looked at him with confusion written on her face.
"Never mind." Chris shook his head and the room became silent except for the occasional tick tock of a hidden clock that was hanging somewhere.
"So..." Paige tried to remove the awkward quietness between the two of them.
"Where's Piper?" Chris asked carelessly but his eyes said another story.
"She's in the kitchen cooking something..." Paige looked around the room for a second, "Although, what she's cooking, I have no clue."
"What about Wyatt?" Chris asked quickly.
"He's in his crib sleeping." Paige responded.
"And everyone else?" Chris sat up and swung his legs to the side of the bed.
"Well, if you mean by everyone else as Phoebe, Leo, and me, we are all here at the moment," Paige glared at Chris, "Where are you going?"
"Nowhere." Chris innocently stated while finding his shoes and putting them on his feet.
"Nowhere." Paige scoffed.
"I'm going to the kitchen." Chris rolled his eyes at her before changing the topic, "How long?"
"How long what?" Paige was lost.
"How long was I out?" He questioned.
"Only 24-ish hours." Paige stated with caution.
He slowly pushed himself up from the bed without saying anything more and stiffly stepped out of the doorway with Paige following him. When they reached the kitchen, he paused to look around, only to see an empty room.
"Where is Piper?" He questioned turning to Paige suddenly. Before Paige could answer him, they heard a loud crash of something breaking upstairs.
"Oh no!" Both shouted in panic while running straight for the stairs. Rushing into the attic, Paige gasped in shock. In the room, objects were laying broken in pieces everywhere. Piper, Phoebe, and even Leo, who was holding Wyatt tightly to him, were shocked at the state of the room. There were many kinds of demons spread out evenly in the room and out stepped their leader.
"Ah, bad pet." He spat out in a calm voice that sent shivers down everyone's spines except Chris', "Now they pay."
The next thing they knew, poisoned arrows, athames, fireballs, and many others weapons were flying around everywhere. Everyone got into fighting mode. Piper waved her hands so demons in her path of target exploded, Paige orbed weapons back to the owners, Phoebe levitated into the air using her famous martial arts skills, Chris was TKing objects at his targets, and Leo orbed Wyatt to safety and then came back to help.
Soon, all the demons were gone except for the leader, who had stalked up behind Piper without anyone noticing. That is, except for Paige.
"Piper!" Everyone faced her to see him holding his knife to her throat while he stood behind her which gave her no escape.
"Why do you insist on helping these people?" He spoke in a convincing tone that most bad guys use to lore in their prey, "They never you treated right."
"What do you want?" Chris asked in a low calm voice.
"Why are you still trying to save him?" He continued as if he hadn't heard Chris, "I mean, why not just sneak into his nursery and kill him in his sleep then leap back to the future? But seeing how you're here, I'm going to say that the future was screwed up...and they weren't there to save it."
"Let me guess, your daddy never was around for you." He grinned when he saw a flame flicker in Chris' eyes, "He ran off and left your family."
Chris didn't say anything.
"And your mother-"
"Leave her out of this!" Chris shouted in an angry voice and took a slow step closer to him.
"Your mother-"
"I said leave her out of this!" He slowly lifted into the air and tiny streams of light flickered around him. The leader didn't notice.
"You let your own mother die!" He shouted out.
"Leave my family alone!" Lightning coursed off of his hands flying on the leader, who let out a scream before bursting into flames and disappearing into nothing. Chris fell to the floor and just stared at his hands as if he had never seen them before.
"Chris." They all moved towards him but he backed away in panic and more blue lightning floated around him.
"No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no." Chris muttered under his breath but everyone could hear him, "This can't happen. I'm not like him-"
"Chris." Paige asked moving closer and the lightning was getting big with crackling noises.
"Don't come any closer!" Chris painfully shouted but Phoebe moved too close and she fell to the ground. What no one knew was that it was a premonition not from lightning.
"Phoebe!" Piper shouted out to her younger sister and ran to her.
"Oh no!" Chris backed up even more as he stared at Phoebe.
"Phoebe!" Paige shouted to her sister before turning to Chris with a questioning look on her face, "How did you do that? What did you do? Who aren't you like?"
Phoebe woke up to hear the last part and she slowly stood up.
"You can tell them, you know." Phoebe stated knowingly.
"I...you know?" Chris was really alarmed after that.
"I know about everything now." Phoebe simply said.
"No, you don't know everything about me." He looked down in shame, "I'll never be like my brother!"
"Who's your-" Paige tried to ask.
"Oh my god!" Phoebe's eyes were as big as dinner plates as she realized what her premonition was, "Your-"
A light interrupted her and Chris orbed away in blue and white dots. Phoebe went to open her mouth to answer her exclamation but Leo, who was listening the whole time without saying anything, beat her to it.
"Chris is...our son."
Da da da! They know now! *huffs* I had a lot of fun rewriting the last part because my kitten logged me out of my account and it wasn't saved! Oh, well! All mistakes are mine! Reviews are like a normal life is for Piper! It's really wanted! Read & Review!
