There hasn't been any sign of the avatar for a few weeks, Zuko has been really frustrated about it, you encouraged him to relax and train. You also tried to convince him not to worry. Convincing Zuko of that was no easy task.

Currently you're laying on the deck, you really have nothing better to do, the ship is extremely boring. You're waiting for a sparring partner, and it's been almost three hours.

Laying out in the sun was not your idea of a good day. No matter how long you stay out in the sun you never get any tanner, it's very odd. Oh well.

Suddenly the warm rays of sun were blocked. You opened your eyes to see Zuko standing there.

"Sleeping on the deck?" Zuko asked with a slight smile on his face.

"Why not?" you asked as you pushed yourself up onto your elbows "sit with me" you ordered.

Zuko smiled and sat beside you "have you been here all day?" he asked

"It's not like I have anything better to do" you said.

"Sorry I guess the ship is getting pretty boring" Zuko agreed.

You leaned into him a bit. "Being on land is more fun then being on a ship with a bunch of old smelly guys," you said.

"I really wish the crew would shower more often, then at least we wouldn't have to deal with the smelly part" Zuko commented.

You giggled. Zuko wrapped an arm around you. You turned slightly and kissed Zuko's lips lightly, he gladly kissed back. As the two of you separated you smiled at each other.

"Kana would you like it if we stopped in a town? Just me and you, no avatar stuff. We can look for your brothers" Zuko asked.

You smiled a sly smirk. "Zuko are you asking me out on a date?" you questioned.

Zuko turned a deep shade of red.

You couldn't help but giggle, sometimes he's so adorable "I hope you are because I would love that" you said with a smile

Zuko smiled at you "I'll go tell the helmsmen to stop at the nearest port" Zuko said as he rose, pulling you along with him.

The two of you walked hand in hand up to the control room. Zuko told the helmsmen where to stop then the two of you went to Zuko's room. Once there Zuko took off his armor revealing that he was wearing a black training shirt and black training pants. You went into the bathroom and changed into a black skirt with a slit on one side a red halter-top that ended at the bottom of your rib cage.

By the time the two of you made it to the deck the crew was already docking the ship.

Luckily the only ones to actually get off the ship were you and Zuko. As you left you could have sworn you saw Iroh smiling at the sight of you and Zuko together.

Once you started walking, Zuko took your hand; you smiled at him and laced your fingers with his.

'So this our first date, it's so odd but so nice' you thought

You noticed how tense Zuko looked. He was so nervous. "Zuko relax, today is going to be great," you told him.

"I know," he said trying to sound calm, he just sounded even more nervous.

Zuko brought you to a sushi restaurant; it was a small place, only a few booths, but it was cozy.

A waiter walked over after a few moments. "Hi there, I'm Kai, I'll be your waiter, what can I get you today" Kai asked pleasantly.

"Some vanilla chai tea please" you said, Zuko nodded in agreement.

"Ok, I'll give you a few minutes to figure out the rest of your order" Kai said then walked away.

You didn't bother looking at the menu; you turned your attention towards Zuko. "Thanks for taking me out today" you said.

"You don't have to thank me, I haven't been a very good boyfriend" Zuko said quietly.

"Don't worry about it, you're a wonderful boyfriend, you just get distracted easily" you said. 'And frustrated and angered, but that's beside the point' you thought.

Zuko smiled and changed the subject. "So is there anything in particular you want to do today?' Zuko asked.

You thought for a second but couldn't think of anything so you said "I'm not to sure, lets just wander the streets and find something to do" Zuko nodded.

Kai came back "what can I get you?" he asked.

Zuko ordered for the both of you, Kai seemed to realize that you and Zuko are together, so he was somewhat rude to zuko. The two of you ate and paid.

Wandering around the town was interesting. It was a cute little town. all the shops were selling very pretty clothes. One outfit caught your eye. Zuko, who surprisingly is not so oblivious, noticed.

"Go pick out some things" Zuko encouraged.

"I couldn't" you replied feeling spoiled just by the thought of Zuko buying you things.

"Kana" Zuko said sternly as he led you into the store. "I may be banished but I still have more money than I could ever spend, pick some things out, please" he said.

"Ok" you said feeling happy but a bit guilty. One outfit caught your eye. It was a black shirt that had a pink cherry blossom tree on it and a black skirt that had pink cherry blossom petals on it. You knew it was too expensive.

Zuko bought it for you.

"Zuko its to expensive" you argued.

"That doesn't matter, it perfect for you" he replied.

"You're starting to sound like Iroh" you teased as you smiled thankfully knowing that he's right. The simple outfit reminded you of your cherry blossom tree back at home. You missed it.

Before you left the shop, you asked the owner if he's seen Kaito or Daisuke, he didn't...

You and Zuko continued to wander around. The town was fairly dull, it's just a bunch of shops that sell useless junk. It's Iroh's type of town.

You led Zuko into the woods.

"Hey Zuko, what did you do when you were little" you asked out of the blue.

Zuko gave you an odd look but answered. "I spent a lot of time with my mother, we used to feed the turtle ducks and my sister Azula always tormented me"

"You have a sister," you asked.

"An evil sister, she always loved teasing me and usually in some way injuring me," Zuko admitted.

You noticed that zuko isn't fond of his sister, so you changed the subject. "It sounds like you were really close with your mom" you commented.

"She always believed in me when no one else did"

You nodded in understanding.

"What did you do when you were little?" He asked.

"I always hung out with kaito and daisuke. Their was always a weird age gap on my Island, everyone was always either older than me or younger than me, so I didn't have that many friends" You replied

"What about Yahigo, Ike and Domon?" Zuko asked slightly confused.

"Yahigo and Ike were always Daisuke and Kaito's friends, they never really paid attention to me till I started getting a nice figure" you rolled your eyes " and I didn't know Domon for very long, he just moved to the island a bit before you showed up"

All Zuko could say was a pathetic 'oh'

"Don't get me wrong, I love my brothers, obviously, and the three idiots are good friends, I just didn't really have friends when I was a kid" you added.

Zuko nodded and moved on to his next question "did you have any boyfriends before me?" he asked.

"No, I think I rejected every guy on the island, did you have any girlfriends?" you asked.

"Nope, the only girls that were around were Azula's friends, and they're creepy" he replied.

That made you laugh.

The two of you spent the rest of the day in the woods, talking and sharing innocent kisses.

A little after nightfall the two of you returned to the ship. That night it left the port, back on course and back on the avatar's trail.
