You woke up in the middle of the night because Zuko was restless, even though he was asleep he was sweating and tossing and turning. You were worried but you thought it would pass, this wasn't the first time zuko slept fitfully.

The next morning you woke up early and got ready for the day. You dressed in a corset style top and a dark green skirt. You joined Iroh in the kitchen.

Tomorrow you would be moving into your new apartment and the day after that Iroh's teashop would open.

"Morning Iroh" you said cheerfully as you sat down at the makeshift table.

"Morning Kana would you like some ginseng tea?" Iroh asked.

"Sure"

You and Iroh had a pleasant conversation but you were starting to wonder where Zuko is, he's usually awake by now. When you were about to go wake Zuko up, the door to the bedroom opened and Zuko stumbled out of the room.

"I don't feel right," he mumbled as he held onto the doorframe.

"Zuko!" you yelped as he collapsed. You and Iroh ran over to Zuko. You pressed your hand against his forehead, "he's burning up," you said with worry in your voice.

Iroh picked Zuko up and put him on the bed mat. You pulled the blankets over him as he shivered and fell into a fitful sleep. You sat with Zuko while Iroh went to get water.

"Oh Zuko" you whispered sadly "please be ok"

You stayed by Zuko's side all day and night, you held his hand whenever he reached for you and changed the cool towel on his forehead periodically. Zuko woke up a few times, he'd smile at you and thank you with his eyes. Later on Zuko had enough strength to say "thank you Kana"

"Don't thank me silly, I love you and I'm really worried about you," you told him.

Almost breathless Zuko replied, "I love you kana"

Zuko looked like he was in pain. You changed the towel on his forehead as Iroh walked in with fresh water. Zuko must have used up all of his strength because he suddenly sat up, and tried to drink all of the water, but spilled most of it on himself and the bed mat. Then he lay back down exhausted.

You moved some of Zuko's hair away from his face.

"Kana please come and eat something!" Iroh yelled from the other room. You looked at Zuko not wanting to leave in his current state.

"Kana please eat something," Zuko muttered.

You nodded "I'll be back soon" you told him as you stood up and left the room.

Dinner was nearly silent, only once in a while you or Iroh would voice your concerns about Zuko. Iroh wouldn't let you leave the table till you ate two servings and drank a cup of vanilla chai tea.

Zuko walked out of the bedroom as you finished your tea, he held onto the wall for support. Fearing he would collapse again you ran over to and helped him to the table. Iroh poured some tea for Zuko.

You and zuko spoke softly, you about his condition and how he's feeling and he voiced how grateful he is that you stayed with him all day. While the two of you were discussing reasons for Zuko's sudden illness.

Iroh chimed in. "you should know it is not a natural sickness," Zuko stopped drinking his tea, and Iroh continued. "But that shouldn't stop you from enjoying tea"

"What's happening?" Zuko asked.

"Your critical decision, what you did beneath that lake. It was such a conflict with your inner image of yourself that you are at war with your own mind and body." Iroh replied.

"What's that mean?" Zuko asked

"By letting Appa go, you chose to give up on your search for the avatar, its what gave meaning to your life" you said but Zuko cut of you off

"You give meaning to my life"

You blushed but finished what you were saying, "the sudden change must have brought on your illness"

"Exactly" Iroh said to you then turned back to Zuko. "You are going through a metamorphosis my nephew. It will not be a pleasant experience but when you come out of it you will be the beautiful prince you were always meant to be" Iroh finished. Zuko seemed annoyed.

"Iroh, you made Zuko seem like a butterfly," you said bluntly. Zuko gave you a look "I'm just being honest" you said in defense.

Zuko was still weak so he went to sleep early. You helped Iroh clean up before you went to bed. By the time you walked in Zuko was already in a fitful sleep, you lay beside him. Zuko seemed to relax as soon as you curled up next to him.

The next morning you woke up early, Zuko was still asleep so you decided not to wake him. You walked into the kitchen where Iroh was making something that smelled absolutely foul.

"Morning Kana, would you like some juke?" Iroh asked pleasantly.

"I think I'll pass Iroh, I'll just have some toast and tea," you said with a yawn

After a few minutes Zuko walked out of the bedroom, he looked, well he looked like a new man: he was smiling, the harsh lines on his face were gone and he looked totally happy.

Zuko walked right over to you "good morning beautiful" he said then kiss you sweetly. Then he turned to Iroh and said "morning uncle"

"Morning Zuko, you look so happy" you said with a smile.

"How can I not be happy?" he opened the windows to let the sunlight in " I have an amazing girlfriend, a brilliant uncle and we're moving to our new home today" Zuko said happily as he walked over to Iroh "what are you cooking uncle?" Zuko asked.

"Its juke, you wouldn't like it" Iroh said.

"I'll have a bowl" Zuko said as he took a bowl and severed himself and Iroh some juke. He then sat next to you and began to eat.

Seeing zuko happy was wonderful, he really appreciated everything and this was the best mood you've ever seen him in though you had to admit you did miss angsty Zuko, he's so cute when he's angsy.
