You barely slept last night; you couldn't calm down enough to rest. Jet, Longshot and Smellerbee slept like hibernating platypus bears. You got up early and washed your hair, if your going to crash an execution you wanted to make sure everyone knows that it's you. You dressed in a bight red halter top and a black skirt that is shorter in the front and longer in the back.

Once everyone woke up, you went over the plan one more time. Everything was ready.

"So freedom fighters are you ready to knock some fire nation heads," Jet asked loudly.

"Jet we aren't the freedom fighters anymore" Smellerbee said uninterested. Longshot nodded in agreement. Jet looked like a puppy that someone kicked.

"You really need to let go of that, besides didn't you try to drown a village, that's not very good PR" you added.

Jet was speechless, he looked so upset; Longshot gave him a look. After a few moments Jet said, "You're right, I'm just going to have to get used to it"

To break the awkward silence you said "so how long before I start understanding Longshot?"

They all laughed and Smellerbee said with a laugh, "a few years."

The four of you headed to the Imperial Square where the execution was being held. The streets were pretty empty, so you only had to hide a few times. Longshot got into position on a nearby rooftop. Smellerbee and Jet easily blended into the crowd. You took a deep breath as you neared the 'stage'. You saw Kaito and Daisuke, they stood tall but their arms and legs were chained to the metal platform. They fearlessly looked at the royal family. The Firelord looked like a cruel man, Azula looked crazy as usual. You could hardly look at Zuko, you felt a pain in your chest. Zuko looked upset. You brushed it off; this is not about you and Zuko.

You took a deep breath.

"Kaito of the Water Tribe and Daisuke of the Earth Kingdom…" The executioner announced. He was about to speak again when you jumped onto the platform and shot a fire blast at him. The crowd was silent in shock. The Firelord, Azula and Zuko stood up.

"Get away from my brothers" you said fearlessly.

As the Firelord and Azula were about to attack you, several arrows pinned them to the wall curtsey of Longshot. Zuko stood in shock as several more arrows pinned him to the wall.

"Kill them," the Firelord commanded.

Daisuke began to struggle, pulling on the chains as hard as he could. Kaito simply yelled things like 'In your face Firelord' and 'Yeah! Baby sister!' sometimes you wondered which he liked more, water bending or shit talking.

You fought several guards and the executioner.

(Zuko's POV)

You watched as Kana fought to save her brothers, you didn't even struggle to free yourself, not that it would matter, Azula and your father kept struggling and every time they freed themselves more arrows would pin them to the wall. All you wanted to do was help Kana but you watched helplessly.

A soldier almost hit her but she easily dodged and gracefully took out that soldier and three others. She was surrounded but it still looked like she was winning. One soldier kana didn't notice as about to hit her.

"Kana!" you yelled helplessly, you didn't even know what you were doing, at the sound of your voice, Kana turned and ducked. She stood frozen looking at you for a few moments. You struggled to free yourself but when you did, more arrows pinned you to the wall. Just as Kana was about to overpowered a boy came to her aid. It was Jet. You couldn't help but feel jealous, Jet was where you should be, fighting alongside kana.

(Kana's POV)

You snapped out of it and continued to fight.

"Kana a little fire would be nice!" Daisuke yelled motioning to his restraints. You heated the metal as he pulled with all his strength. He freed himself, and used the chains to his advantage swinging them at the soldiers. You did the same for kaito, who instantly found a water source and began bending.

Smellerbee, Kaito and Daisuke were easily fighting off everyone who came near them. You and Jet were surrounded fighting back to back.

"We need to get out here," He said.

You shot a fire blast at the soldiers in front of you clearing a path. "You were saying."

Jet just rolled his eyes at you, as he yelled, "Come on let's get out of here!" Longshot appeared on a wall near the platform, shooting arrows for cover. Smellerbee jumped as high as she could, Longshot grabbed her and hoisted her over the wall. Kaito followed. You stayed back to fight off the approaching soldiers. Daisuke made it over the wall.

"Kana come on!" Jet yelled as he jumped onto the wall and waited at the top for you.

"I'm trying" you yelled as you shot fire at one soldier and kicked another in the face. You were a bit preoccupied.

You neared the wall. You stopped when you were right against it. You looked up at the platform where the royal family was still trying to free themselves. Zuko starred at you. You couldn't help but stare at him. It broke your heart all over again. 'Oh Zuko' you thought sadly.

(Zuko's POV)

You watched Kana; you could feel your heart breaking again. She looked more beautiful than you remembered; all you wanted was to hold her close. You looked at her with longing. She looked at you with tears in her eyes and betrayal written all over her face. 'I really fucked up and I don't know if I'll be able to fix this.' That soon turned to jealousy and rage as Jet jumped down from the wall, and picked kana up breaking your eye contact. You clenched your fists in anger at the sight of Jet putting his hands on Kana's waist.

Something was familiar, you remembered the previous day. Your eyes widened in realization. The two people you saw kissing yesterday were Kana and Jet. You looked down giving up. You were so confused, if Kana is with Jet now, why did she look at you like that? Why did she look at you like she still loves you?

(Kana's POV)

You were hoisted over the wall and into Kaito and Daisuke's arms.

"We're finally together again!" Kaito bellowed as he picked you and Daisuke up in a bone-crushing hug.

"Have your little reunion later, we still need to escape" Jet said as he pointed to soldier running down the ally.

"Good point"

All of you ran, you with Kaito and Daisuke, while Jet, Longshot and Smellerbee all went different ways.

"Why split up?" kaito questioned as you ran.

"We'll meet up later, its part of the plan" you yelled as you turned and shot fire at the soldiers, then started running again.

After running for a while you finally lost the soldiers. When you arrived at the cave on the hillside, Jet, Longshot and Smellerbee were already there. You sat down with your back against the wall. You let out a breath you didn't even realize you were holding in. Jet sat down next to you and handed you some food as Kaito and Daisuke helped themselves to the lovely meal Longshot made. And by made I mean stole.

"I'll eat in a bit," you explained. "I need to relax"

Jet nodded, "you know we make a pretty good team" you stayed silent so he continued. "Busting out of prison, crashing executions, you're a pretty awesome girl"

You did not like where this conversation was going "Jet just stop, please"

Daisuke overheard your discomfort and sat next to you.

"Its good to be back little sis" he said.

You smiled "I'm just glad we're all alright"

The three of you sat in silence while, Kaito started making jokes trying to get Longshot to talk. It wasn't working. Smellerbee was laughing at them.

"You know Zuko still loves you" Daisuke told you.

You felt butterflies in your stomach "really?" you questioned hopefully. Daisuke was about to speak but he was cut off.

"Why would it matter" Jet chimed in, "its not like he helped you escape, he didn't even help us today"

Jet was right, you hated to admit it but Zuko didn't help you at all. Part of you hated yourself for still loving Zuko but the other part just missed him. You couldn't help but wish you were by Zuko's side.

"Don't listen to Jet, Zuko visited me and Kaito everyday until they upped security. He even had a plan to rescue you." Daisuke reasoned.

You smiled, "I'm glad he still cares, but how can I love someone I can't trust"
