Sorry for not updating, i've been really busy between my internship, part-time job, friends and a friend in the air force turned up at my house 2 days ago with no where to go so i've been crazy busy, but here's an update! First i'll answer the reviews then off to the story!

Pokemonjkl- as always thanks for your review i really appreciate it!

maypl bougher- I'm glad you like the story, i'm very sorry that i upset you with my cussing, to be honest its a habit and the words don't really hold meaning to me anymore but in the future i will try to either not cuss or warn readers about potential inappropriate language. Again I am very sorry.

spatterson- at this point in time as much as i would love to help you, i can't i just don't have the time to write another story right now. If their is someway for you to send your story to me, i would gladly post it and credit you, maybe even revise it (fix some awkward wording maybe add a little more detail) but i just don't have the time to write things right now. (aside from my own stories). Also i really liked the dialog it went along with the characters and the story very well, young Zuko promising to protect mai was good. I really liked the second scene you sent.

clairabeth- Then its a good thing that this is not the end, i think by the time this story is finished it may be around 100 chapters give or take a few. Thank you so much for the review, I'm really glad that you like my writing style, i've gotten some complaints about it so i'm glad some people like it. I promise i will finish this story, i'm going to try to update at least once a day but in the near future i may get really busy but either way i will finish this story.(and after it i will be writing a Jack Frost story and a Cloud Strife story)

"Hello" Zuko raised his arm to wave, "Zuko here" he said nervously.

Everyone except you and your brothers prepared to attack him. You just stared at him in disbelief; it didn't look like he noticed you. You were so distracted that you almost didn't notice Jet inching closer to you. Almost.

Zuko continued, "Hey, I heard you guys flying around down there, so, I just thought I'd wait for you here." Appa growled at him, then licked him, after Zuko got over the honorable grossness of being licked by a flying bison he said. "I know you must be surprised to see me here."

"Not really, since you've followed us all over the world" Sokka commented.

"Right. Well, uhhh ... anyway..." Zuko stumbled over his words. "What I wanted to tell you about is that I've changed, and I, uhhh, I'm good now, and well I think I should join your group, oh," he turned to Aang, "and I can teach firebending to you. See, I, uhhh ..." he trailed off

"You want to what now" Toph said in disbelief.

"You can't possibly think that anyone of us would trust you? How stupid do you think we are?" Katara questioned.

"Besides Kana can teach Aang to fire bend, we don't need you" Jet commented, you want to kick him but you were too shocked by Zuko's presence to control your breathing, let alone kick Jet for being a jerk.

"Yeah! All you've done is hunt us down and try to capture Aang!" Sokka added.

"I've done some good things! I could have stolen your bison in Ba-Sing-Se but I freed him! That's something!" Zuko reasoned, he was struggling to stay calm. Appa licked him again.

"Well Appa does seem to like him" Aang commented.

"He probably covered himself in honey or something, I'm not buying it" Sokka said as he crossed his arms. You and just about everyone looked at him curiously, the honey thing was a bit ridiculous.

"I can understand why you wouldn't trust me, and I know I've made some mistakes in the past"

"Some is an understatement" you heard Jet mumble

"Like when you attacked our village!" Sokka yelled.

"Or all of the times you forced us run" Katara added.

"How about all the times you betrayed my sister." Kaito's booming voice only made it sound worse and it was pretty bad to begin with. "Lets see their was when you abandoned her in the north pole, and when you betrayed her in Ba-Sing-Se, lets not forget all the times you put your needs before Kana's" You glared at Kaito, whatever happened between you and Zuko was your business and you wanted to deal with it on your own. Now everyone knows.

"Besides didn't you promise Kana's parents that you would bring all of them home safely" Jet added. How did he even know about that? You never told him, you've only told Daisuke and Kaito.

You looked down feeling tears in your eyes that you refused to let fall. For the first time since he got here, Zuko looked at you. You glanced at him out of the corner of your eye. He looked so upset. His eyes were full of regret and love. He was silently pleading for forgiveness. Then Jet stood between you and Zuko, blocking your view of him.

"Look, I admit I've done some awful things. I know I've hurt Kana, I never meant to. And Aang, I was wrong to try to capture you, and I'm sorry that I attacked the Water Tribe. And I never should have sent that Fire Nation assassin after you. I'm going to try and stop…" Zuko was cut off.

"You sent Combustion Man after us!"

"Well that not his name but…"

" I'm sorry did I insult your friend"

"He's not my friend!"

"That guy locked me and Katara in jail and tried to blow us all up!"

Zuko in a panic, turned to Aang, "Why aren't you saying anything? You once said that you thought that we could be friends. You know I have good in me." He looked hopeless.

Aang paused and turned to the 'official' members of team avatar, then said "Theirs no way we can trust you after everything you've done. We'll never let you join us"

You could hardly believe that Aang said that. Aang believed in forgiveness and second chances, you were shocked.

"You need to get out of here. Now." Katara threatened.

"I'm trying to explain that I'm not that person anymore!" Zuko yelled desperately. You frowned, you wanted to speak in favor of Zuko but you were far too upset to speak.

"Either you leave or we attack" Sokka threatened.

"If you won't accept me as a friend, maybe you'll accept me as your prisoner" Zuko said as he kneeled.

"No, we won't!" Katara yelled as she whipped water at him. "Get out of here, and don't come back! And if we ever see you again, well, we'd better not see you again!"

Zuko slowly stood and looked at you, "Kana…Please" he spoke just barely above a whisper.

You rubbed your eyes trying to hold back your tears as Jet pushed you behind him and yelled "She doesn't need you, get out of here!"

Before you could speak, Zuko turned and ran out to the air temple, you could have sworn you saw a few tears trail down his scarred face. You tried to run after him but Kaito held you back, you were strong but Kaito is huge, theirs no way you could get away.

Once Zuko was out of sight and Kaito was satisfied that you wouldn't go after him, he released you. You slid against the wall until you were sitting on the floor. 'Why didn't I say something' you thought.

"Why would he try to fool us like that!" Katara yelled angrily

"He's obviously trying to lead us into some kind of trap" Sokka added.

"This is just like when we were in prison together at Ba Sing Se. He starts talking about his mother and making it seem like he's an actual human being with feelings."

"He does have feelings," you whispered, but only Jet heard you.

"He wants you to trust and feel sorry for him so you let your guard down, then he strikes." Sokka added.

"The thing is, it worked. I did feel sorry for him. I felt like he was really confused and hurt, but obviously, when the time came he made his choice, and we paid the price. We can't trust him."

"She's almost as heartless as Azula," you mumbled, this time, Jet, Daisuke and Kaito heard you.

"I kind of have a confession to make. Remember when you two were sick and I got captured by Zhao?" Aang asked timidly.

"And you made us suck on frozen frogs? How could I forget? I had a wart on the flap that hangs down from the back of my throat for a month!"

After Sokka's rant was over Aang continued. "Anyway, when Zhao had me chained up, it was Zuko who came in and got me out. He risked his life to save me." Aang looked at you, silently asking if he could say that were there too but you shook your head 'no.'

"No way! I'm sure he only did it so he could capture you himself!"

"Yeah, face it Aang, you're nothing but a big prize to him."

"You're probably right..." Aang frowned.

"And what was all of that crazy stuff about setting Appa free? What a liar!"

"He wasn't lying I was there" you stated firmly.

"I don't even know why we trust you" Katara snapped at you, earning herself glares from Kaito, Daisuke and Jet. "You probably lie to us too."

That was the final straw; you were in no mood to deal with this. You've never lied to anyone. You stood up and walked to your room, no one, not even Jet tried to stop you. You could feel everyone' eyes on you, but you didn't care.

As you left you heard Toph say, "Actually he wasn't lying"

You flopped onto your lumpy bed, seeing Zuko always confuses you. You did believe him; you had no doubt that he was truthful in everything he said. Believing Zuko wasn't the issue, trusting Zuko is the issue.

You rolled onto your side and covered your face with a pillow, you had no idea why, but this position was strangely calming. Maybe you'll sneak out tonight to talk to Zuko. Maybe. But for now you just wanted to be alone.

(Zuko's POV)

You ran until you were a good distance away from the air temple. "Why am I so stupid!" you scolded yourself, "I'm so bad at being good," you mumbled hopelessly. You let your mind wander to Kana, she was holding back tears the entire time you were there. You remembered what Jet said, 'What if she really doesn't need me?' you thought. No, that was Jet's opinion; you wouldn't believe it until Kana told you herself.
