Pokemonjkl, Maypl Bougher and random- Thanks i appreciate the reviews! They really keep me motivated to update.

Sorry i haven't updated in a few days I've been crazy busy but thank you so much for all the reviews, favorites and follows!

Your family has been arguing, you and your brothers in defense of Zuko, your mother for forgiveness, and your father against Zuko.

"Dear he's only a boy, Zuko regrets his actions, what do you i expect? He only wanted to go home," your mother argued.

"It's not a justification but come on, the fire lord is messed up, Zuko is trying his best" Daisuke added.

"I mean come on look at his face" Kaito said, "His own father did that, he's had a hard life."

Zuko unconsciously ran his fingers over his scar, feeling self-conscious of it. You wished that you could walk over to him but you knew your dad wouldn't like it.

You walked over to your dad, "Dad, I know you're upset and you're mad at Zuko, and I'm not going to say Zuko was right, because he wasn't" you sighed, "Trust me I'm the first one to point out when Zuko is wrong, but he's trying, and that's enough for me" you said softly.

Your father sighed, "I guess now would be good to tell you, that we're leaving today" he said, "But in light of this, Kana you're going to come with us"

You gasped as you backed away from your father.

"Dear, please reconsider" Your mother asked. She did not agree with him, but at the same time she can't undermine his authority. Zuko looked between you and your dad, he seemed so hopeless.

"Dad no, Kana needs to teach the avatar!"

"Kana can't go!"

"Wait! Hear me out" Jet yelled, getting everyone's attention, he's been silent this whole time. Once everyone was looking at him, he continued. " Kana can't go with you, everyone here needs her, and I know that you're her parents but before you found out all this stuff you had no issue with her staying. Zuko isn't the only one who needs Kana." He looked at Longshot and Smellerbee, "I've been the leader of my freedom fighters for a long time, and I was never able to make them happy, Kana was the first person to treat them like kids, she let them play and she took care of them. Aang needs Kana, because Zuko can't teach the Aang on his own, Kana stands up for anyone who is being disrespected. You can't take her away from us because we all need her, she's like the mother of our group" he looked at your father, "I know I need Kana, she puts me in my place and makes sure I'm not an arrogant jerk" then he looked at Zuko, "Out of all of us Zuko needs Kana the most, as much as I hate to admit it, they're perfect for each other"

Once Jet finished his speech everyone was too shocked to speak, it was completely out of character but he was so sincere.

"Dad, I don't want to leave, they need me" you said, "I'll go home when the war is over"

Your dad sighed, "No, we can't…"

"Sir," Zuko spoke, he had be silent all of this time, "Please don't take Kana away from me"

As your dad looked around at all of the pleading faces his features softened into a timid smile, he was about to speak when Kaito did, "Also I don't recommend forbidding Kana, it only makes her do whatever you told her not to"

Ignoring Kaito's comment, your dad said, "You can stay" he sighed.

You smiled brightly and pulled your parents into a hug. After a stern discussion about your and Zuko's relationship, and a sad goodbye to your mother, father, Ike, Yahigo, and Domon, Sung decided that he would go with them.

After they left the air was still tense, Zuko looked ashamed, you hoped he wasn't beating himself up again. Daisuke and kaito were talking about everything that's happened. Jet was staring at Zuko, he stood up for him, and maybe they could be friends. You were silent, you wanted to talk but you didn't know what to say.

Aang walked into the main common area. "We heard everything," he said as Toph, Sokka, and Katara appeared behind him.

"I can feel the tension in everyone. We've all been through so much, and most of us have done things we aren't proud of" Toph said.

"We decided that whatever has happened in the past should be forgiven, we're all here now and we all want the same thing." Aang really is wise beyond his years.

"Besides if Jet can defend Zuko, I think we can all over look our differences" Sokka added.

You glanced at Katara, she smiled but you could see past it, she still doesn't trust you and Zuko. But everyone else seemed genuine. Zuko walked over to Jet.

"Thank you for defending me, I know we don't exactly get along, but thanks," Zuko said awkwardly.

"I didn't do it for you, I did it for Kana" Jet said stubbornly, "But it wouldn't hurt if we tried to be friends" He added.

Zuko nodded, "friends?" he asked reaching out his hand.

"Friends" Jet confirmed as he shook Zuko's hand. You couldn't help but smile.

After dinner you decided to wander around the Western Air Temple. Daisuke and Kaito decided to take Jet and Zuko into town, something about celebrating friendship and brotherhood, which might be code for getting Jet and Zuko drunk, but you're not going to jump to any conclusions.

You wandered around the temple admiring the architecture and the beauty of nature slowly reclaiming civilization, you've always been fascinated the way flowers could find a way to bloom in the cracks in the ground or the way moss covers a wall. You walked into the hall of statues, where all of statues of Aang's past lives are kept.

"Hey Kana" Haru called.

"Wanna go slide down the ramp with us?" Teo asked.

"Come on it's fun" Haru added.

"I think I need a little fun" you replied with a smile. You, Haru and Teo walked up to the top of the ramp. You've never been to this area before and you had to wonder, what exactly were the air nomads thinking when they made this ramp. It was obviously meant to be a slide because it's ridiculously steep and it legitimately leads to a dead end. Teo motioned for you and Haru to hold onto the back of his wheel chair. So you jumped onto the small platform that held the back wheels in place, leaving enough room for Haru to do the same. Haru used his weight to push off before he jumped on, sending the three of you down the ramp.

At first it was pretty awesome, the wind rushing through your hair, the three of you laughing as Teo's wheelchair picked up speed. However this turned to horror after the second turn when Teo's breaks decided to stop working. The three of you screamed until you slowed down enough to stop. You couldn't help but laugh, at least no one got hurt.

"That was so much fun, we need to do that again" you laughed.

"I'm down" Haru agreed.

"I'll let you know when my breaks are fixed," Teo said.

(Zuko's POV)

You had just finished dinner, you were about to ask Kana if she wanted spend someone alone time with you but Kaito grabbed your arm.

"Come on Zuko, we're going into town!" he said with a mischievous grin.

"What?" you asked in confusion.

"Yeah come on, you too Jet" Daisuke said as he grabbed him, the two brother were pulling you and Jet towards the exit.

"What's going on?" Jet asked.

"We're going to celebrate" Kaito said. " To new friends and brotherhood." Daisuke was nodding in agreement but you and Jet looked at each other with worried expressions.

Your worry was validated when you heard Kana laugh, "Have fun you guys" she laughed as Daisuke and Kaito dragged you and Jet away.

(Kana's POV)

The Duke ran up to you, he was so tiny; he couldn't be any older than six. Longshot and Smellerbee were also approaching.

"Kana can you tell us a bedtime story?" The Duke asked as he jumped into your arms. This has become pretty common, The Duke is no tiny and he's always climbing all over everyone. You could tell he missed Pipsqueak.

"Of course!" you said with a smile. The young freedom fighters led you to the room they shared. They didn't need to share a room but they said that it made them feel at home, it reminds them of the treetop home they once lived in.

You sat down on Smellerbee's bed. Directly above it The Duke made himself comfortable on the hammock that Jet made for him. Longshot sat next you and Smellerbee curled up on your lap. You decided to tell the kids a story about Fang, Avatar Roku's dragon, and animal spirit guide. By the end of your story The Duke and Smellerbee were fast asleep. Longshot crawled into his bed as you tucked Smellerbee in. You threw a blanket over The Duke. As you were walking out Longshot took out a book and began reading.

You smiled. "Goodnight little ones" you whispered. For a second you thought you heard Longshot mumble a soft goodnight.

(Zuko's POV)

Apparently Daisuke and Kaito's idea of celebrating friendship and brotherhood is getting drunk. You awkwardly did shots with them, but you didn't see the appeal, some of the shots tasted really good but most of them were just gross. You were beginning to feel lightheaded.

"To not killing Zuko" Kaito said as he poured four more shots, one for each of you.

"I do like living" you said, your words starting to slur.

The four of you did another shot. You looked around, Jet's cheeks were red and he seemed a bit confused. Daisuke was slightly buzzed but otherwise all right. Kaito looked completely sober. The lightheadedness was starting to get to you.

"How about another?" Daisuke asked.

You and Jet looked at each other with pleading glances, neither of you wanted to be rude.

"I'm not sure if these lightweights can handle it" Kaito replied.

"Lightweights? We've done like 10 shots" Jet argued.

"Besides not everyone is the size of a bear," you added.

Kaito and Daisuke laughed as they poured another round of shots.

(Kana's POV)

It was starting to get late; you decided that it would be a good idea to wait up for Zuko. You've seen Ike, Yahigo and Domon after Kaito and Daisuke's little celebrations and they always come back stumbling and making fools of themselves.

You decided to hangout in the main common area, after all it's a very lovely night. You sat near the edge of platform and gazed at the scenery. Aang and Sokka were talking, while Katara made tea and Toph was just relaxing.

"Mind if I join you?" Toph asked, you barely heard her walk over.

"Go for it" you said with a smile.

The two of you sat in a comfortable silence for a few moments before Toph spoke. "You know I never got to thank you"

"Hmm?" you questioned, thank you for what?

"During the invasion, when Azula insulted me, you stood up for me," Toph paused and turned her head in your direction, "I never got to thank you"

"You don't have thank me, Azula is a horrible person, she can call me a whore all day long but she tried to called you handicapped, and you aren't. Calling her out on it was the right thing to do" you replied.

"It was still nice of you" Toph smiled, "And you're right. I may be blind but I've never let it stop me"

You smiled, "You're one of the strongest people I know"

"Thanks Kana" she replied, then after a few moments she added "you know, I like having you and Zuko around, I don't understand why Katara hates you so much"

"She has her reasons" you replied.

"But that's the thing, I understand why she hates firebenders, I understand why she hates Zuko I just don't understand why she hates you" Toph said.

"I don't know, but I'm willing to be friends"

"I think it's because you are everything, she was raised to believe firebenders couldn't be" Toph said thoughtfully.

"I think you're right" you agreed but you didn't feel right talking about this. You yawned. "It was nice talking to you, but I think I'm going to head to bed" you said as you stood.

Toph waived you off, and you said goodnight to everyone around. As you left you caught Katara glaring at you.
