"Ahh! There's nothing like enjoying a cool breeze at night," Sonic stated as he was relaxing at the Empire City with Rouge, both of them sitting together on the edge of a skyscraper's rooftop.

Rouge smiled as she turned to Sonic, holding her hands together. "You know, the views get better when you're in the air. I should know." She simply chuckled in response as she winked. "Flying never gets old."

"Oh. I'm not so much of a fan." Sonic remarked as he rolled the back of his head sheepishly with his right hand. "The last time I went flying that wasn't involving a plane, I ended up breaking my back..."

Rouge's eyes lit up as she was willing to hear about Sonic's strange tale, with the blue hedgehog explaining to the busty bat on just what happened to him that one time.

Sometime earlier above the Bullet Canyon...

"Come on, Tails! Can't you go any higher!?" Sonic exclaimed as he was holding onto Tails' arms.

"I'm trying! I'm not used to carrying you around anymore, remember?" Tails snapped back in response as he was struggling to help Sonic go across the canyon.

Knuckles chuckled as he glided behind Sonic and Tails. "Come on, Sonic. Don't pin the blame on Tails just because you're getting pudgy again."

"I am not getting pudgy!" Sonic snapped as he felt his grip on Tails' arms slipping, with him screaming as he went falling several stories below.

Tails and Knuckles glanced at each other as they watched Sonic tumble down, with Tails shocked as Knuckles laughed his head off.
