Hey everyone i'm really sorry that i haven't been updating, but thank you so much for reading.
You were surprised that the Warden let you go into the yard. It almost felt as if you never left, all of the prisoners stayed away from you. You looked around but you couldn't find Zuko or Sokka anywhere.
"Hey kana" a familiar voice said quietly, you looked in their direction. They had their back towards you it was Suki.
"Hey Suki" you said as you turned away. You figured it would be safer if it looked like you weren't talking to each other.
"We have an escape plan, do you see Chit Sang over there?" Suki asked.
"Yeah"
Suki explained the plan. It seemed easy enough. You only have 10 more minutes in the yard before the guards will take you back to your cell. Suki left a small tool where she was sitting when she left. After a minute you stood and picked up the tool and tucked it into your prison uniform before walking towards Chit Sang.
Chit Sang saw you out of the corner of his eye. You pretended to walk past Chit Sang, he stepped into your path knocking you to ground.
"Watch where you're going!" you yelled angrily, it was pretty convincing.
"Back off little girl" Chit Sang said winking. "You don't know what you're getting into"
"I'm not little," you yelled getting the attention of the guards as you stood up ready to fight.
"You look pretty little from up here" Chit Sang said, by now most of the prisoners were looking at you, some guards were watching. Chit Sang tried to throw you to the ground but you dodged him and shot a small fire blast at him.
"No firebending" a Guard yelled, "Take her to the cooler"
Two guards grabbed you; you could tell by the way they held your arms that it was Zuko and Sokka. As soon as their was no one around Zuko spoke.
"Are you alright?" he asked.
""I'm fine, don't worry" you told him.
"I'm going to worry either way," Zuko mumbled in frustration.
"You two can argue once we get out of here, Kana you know that plan?" Sokka asked.
You nodded as they opened the door to the cooler. You stepped inside and they closed the door. As soon as you they walked away you started to remove all of the screw and bolts.
Later that night the door to the cooler opened. You could tell by his posture that it was Zuko.
"I can take you back to your cell if you've learned your lesson" He said loud enough for anyone in the area to hear.
"I think you need to teach me a lesson" you replied seductively.
"Kana" Zuko mumbled. He was so embarrassed. "Now is not the time for this"
"Aw but you're so sexy in your uniform," You softly giggled as Zuko gave you look, "I have to amuse myself somehow," you whispered.
Zuko tried to ignore your previous statement and said, "Sokka is getting Suki and Chit Sang out of their cells, now they'll be waiting for us on the shore"
You heard footsteps approaching, "Someone coming" you hissed as you pulled Zuko inside and closed the door, thankfully it needs to be physically locked so you weren't trapped.
You and Zuko stood in the cramped cooler; it was strangely reminiscent of when the two of you had to hide in that flowerpot.
"I'll teach you a lesson once we're free" Zuko whispered in your ear. Ok it was fun when you were teasing Zuko but now that he's teasing you…its just not fair.
"Shh Zuko" you mumbled as your cheeks turned red, Zuko grinned.
"Yeah, new arrivals coming in at dawn" a male guard said as he approached.
"Anyone interesting?" a female guard asked.
"Nah, just the usual. Some robbers, a couple traitors, some war prisoners, though I did hear there might be a pirate."
"No fooling"
"War prisoners" Zuko repeated as soon as the guards were out of sight.
"It could be Hakoda," you said, Zuko gave you a confused look, "Sokka's father" you explained. "We need to tell him" Zuko nodded in agreement.
The two of you swiftly traversed the halls until you found the other on the shore.
"Took you two long enough" Chit Sang said, you were confused to see two other prisoners standing with him. "This here's my girl, and my best buddy, they're coming too"
You shrugged and walked over to Sokka.
"Fine, come on everyone in the cooler" Sokka ordered.
"Wait Sokka, we overheard some guards, they said that war prisoners would be arriving tomorrow, it might be your father" you told him.
Sokka looked away then said, "Everyone get in the cooler"
"Are you sure you wanna go? You're the one who said you wanted to redeem yourself. Redeem your honor. Rescuing your dad is your chance." Zuko said.
Suki walked over and put a hand on Sokka's shoulder, "Your dad?" she questioned.
Sokka turned to Zuko, "If I had just cut my losses at the invasion, maybe we wouldn't be in this mess. Maybe sometimes it's just better to call it quits before you fail."
"No, it's not. Look Sokka, you're going to fail a lot before things work out." Zuko said.
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?" Sokka asked.
"Zuko" you mumbled as he continued to make a fool of himself.
"Even though you'll probably fail over and over and over again..." Zuko continued.
"Seriously not helping"
Zuko grabbed Sokka's shoulder and said, "You have to try every time. You can't quit because you're afraid you might fail."
"Oh that was surprisingly wise" you said, Zuko gave you a look, so you shrugged and said, "you have to admit until that last part it wasn't very inspirational"
"Hey, if you two are done cuddling, can we get a move on" Chit Sang said impatiently.
"No, I'm staying, you guys go" Sokka turned to Suki, "You've been here long enough"
"I'm not leaving you Sokka" Suki said.
You and Zuko looked at each other and nodded, "We're staying too" you said.
"Not me I'm out" Chit Sang said as he jumped into the cooler with his 'girl' and 'best buddy' "Let's roll baby"
"We gave up our chance of escaping, I hope we didn't make a mistake" Sokka said.
After an argument and some convincing, Zuko finally agreed to let you go back to your cell, you knew that people would be looking for you if you weren't in your cell, they would probably postpone brining in the new prisoners. You spent another night in that cold dark cell.
