I'm so sorry that i haven't been updating, i've been really busy with work. Thank you to everyone who still reads this even though I'm really bad at updating, I'm hoping I still have readers.
The Warden paid you a visit early the next morning. You were not amused.
"So how's my special prisoner," He asked through the cell door, you stayed silent. "Hmm I guess we'll just have to discipline you" he said with a twisted smile. You did not like the sound of that.
The Warden was about to speak again when a guard ran up to him and said, "Sir, the gondolas will be arriving early, we need you to check on the preparations" You realized that the guard was Sokka.
The Warden mumbled a few choice words before walking away. A few moments later your cell opened. This time it was Zuko; there were guards around so you couldn't speak. Once you were out of hearing range of the other guards the two of you talked in hushed tones.
"So what's the plan?" you asked. "You do have a plan right?" you asked when Zuko remained silent.
"We're escaping on the gondolas, we're going to take a hostage so they don't cut the lines" Zuko said. "Sokka is letting all the prisoners into the yard right now"
You noticed that Zuko seemed nervous, he's never nervous about doing potentially dangerous and stupid things. "Zuko what's wrong?" you asked.
He sighed, "I think Azula is here"
Your eyes widened in shock, but you remained silent the rest of the walk to the yard. Once there you were surprised to see that Chit Sang had started a riot. The two of you ran over to Sokka, Suki and Hakoda.
"Good we're all here, now we just need to grab the Warden" Sokka said.
"And how do we do that?" Zuko asked.
"I'm not sure" Sokka replied.
Zuko groaned, "I thought you thought this through"
You and Suki looked at each other, "looks like its up to us" Suki whispered as Sokka yelled, "I thought you said its ok to not think everything through!"
You laughed, "we can't trust them to get anything done, at least they're cute" you said and Suki laughed, as Zuko hissed "Maybe not everything, but this is kind of important"
As you and Suki ran away you heard Chi Sang say "Hey, uh, fellas, I think your girlfriends are taking care of it"
You and Suki easily ran up the wall and jumped onto the upper platform. A few guards charged at you but you easily defeated with your firebending and Suki's martial arts skills.
"Do you see the warden?" Suki asked as she knocked a guard over the railing.
"He's right their, cowering" you pointed out as you shot a fire blast at another guard.
The two of you ran up to where the warden is, you got him first. The Warden tried to punch you but you grabbed his fist.
"You wouldn't dare," he said.
In one swift motion you tied the Warden's hands together and used his headband as a gag. "It seems that you're my special prisoner now" you said as you slammed him against the wall.
"We have the warden, lets get out here!" Suki yelled as Zuko, Sokka, Hakoda and Chit Sang caught up.
"They're good" Hakoda commented.
"Tell me about it" Zuko and Sokka said at the same time.
"You can tell us how good we are later," Suki said.
"Yeah I don't know about you but I wanna get out of here" you added.
Chit Sang threw the Warden over his shoulder as all of you ran towards the gondolas. When you approached a group of guards attempted to stop you.
"Back off we have the warden" Zuko said. Once the guards moved out of the way, he said "Lets go" as all of you continued to the gondola.
"Everyone in" Suki yelled as she opened the door, everyone got on except Zuko who stayed back to start the gondola. Once everyone was inside, he kicked the lever a few times, breaking it in the process. Then he ran to the moving gondola, Sokka helped him inside.
"What are you doing?" Sokka asked.
"Making it so they can't stop us" Zuko replied.
"Way to think ahead!"
"Its about time someone has" you mumbled.
"We're on our way" Suki said.
"Wait. Whose that?" Hakoda asked motioning to three figures on the gondola station. All of the guards were bowing.
"Its my crazy sister, and her friends" Zuko said.
Ty Lee jumped onto the gondola wires and started running towards you.
"This is the rematch I've been waiting for," Suki said.
"Me to" Zuko replied.
You, Zuko, Suki and Sokka climbed on top of the gondola just as Ty Lee jumped onto it. Suki and Ty Lee start to fight while you and Zuko shoot fire blasts at Azula and Mai who were running up the gondola wire. They somehow managed to dodge all of your attacks. Mai was throwing needles at you but you were able to dodge them.
Suddenly you heard the Warden yell "Cut the wire!" and the gondola stopped moving, almost causing Sokka to fall off, as Ty Lee jumped onto another gondola. Zuko was able to save Sokka.
"They're about to cut the line!" Ty Lee yelled. Upon hearing that Mai ran back towards the gondola station.
As the guards worked on severing the gondola wire, another gondola was approaching, Azula smirked, "Then its time to leave" she said then jumped to the other gondola. "Goodbye Zuko" she said.
You turned to Zuko, "you're sister is so creepy" you mumbled.
"Don't remind me" Zuko replied as Ty Lee jumped onto the other gondola. Ty Lee looked at you with concern; she was worried for your group's safety?
The four of you jumped back into the gondola.
"They're cutting the line," Zuko said.
"I hope this thing floats" Hakoda said. You could really see where Sokka gets his sense of humor.
Suddenly the gondola started moving, you looked at the gondola station, Mai was fighting off the guards.
"It's Mai" Zuko said in shock.
"Why would she help us?" you asked.
He shrugged. Soon the gondola reached the top of and all of you got off except the Warden.
You stood in the doorway, "well it looks like I've escaped twice" you said with a smile.
"Looks like your record is broken again" Hakoda added.
You walked up to everyone else.
"So what do we do now?" Suki asked as everyone started to walk away.
Sokka noticed that Zuko is standing still. "Zuko what are you doing?"
"My sister was on that island" he replied.
"Yeah! And she's probably right behind us, so lets not stop!" Sokka said.
"What I mean is she must have come here somehow." Zuko said as he wandered around looking for something. "There! That's our way out of here!" Zuko moved to reveal an airship.
(Mai's POV)
"Leave us alone." Azula yelled as the guards gave the fire nation salute and left, "I never expected this from you. The thing I don't understand is "Why?" Why would you do it? You know the consequences."
"I guess you just don't know people as well as you think," you said, "you miscalculated, I'm not as emotionless as everyone thinks I am, I can feel sympathy. And you just don't want to see your brother happy, you can't stand it. And I don't fear you as much as you think." Azula has been torturing Zuko for as long as you could remember, it maybe silly but he deserves to be happy for once.
"No! You miscalculated! You should have feared me more" Azula yelled completely enraged. "Why does everyone care so much about that worthless peasant!"
Azula was about to firebend at you but Ty Lee hit a few pressure points, "Because she's right" Ty Lee said as Azula fell to the floor, then she turned to you, "Come on! Lets get out of here!"
You were shocked but the two of you attempted to get away.
"You're both fools!" Azula yelled.
You and Ty Lee were quickly surrounded and captured.
(Kana's POV)
Zuko steered the airship in the right direction, then sat next to you. You looked around; everyone was exhausted and rightfully so. You cuddled into Zuko's chest as he pulled you onto his lap.
"Let's never go back there again," You mumbled sleepily.
"Agreed" Zuko said as he kissed your forehead. He gently caressed your face, you winced in pain as his fingers went over the bruise. Zuko frowned.
"Don't worry it will heal" you told him.
"Kana I should have been able to protect you, I was right outside the door"
"Then you would have blown your cover, we might not have been able to escape" you reasoned. Zuko stayed silent. "Zuko please don't beat yourself up over this, I've had worse"
Zuko looked at you in shock, "worse?" he questioned.
You sighed, "It's a figure of speech. Don't worry about it, please."
Zuko wasn't satisfied with your answer but he let it go.
At around nightfall, the Western Air temple came into view. Once you landed, Aang, Katara, Toph, Daisuke, Kaito and Jet walked up to the airship.
"What are you doing in this thing? What happened to the war balloon?" Katara asked.
"It kind of got destroyed" Zuko replied as the two of you walked off the airship.
Kaito, Daisuke and Jet ran up to you and Zuko.
"Since when do you like fishing" Daisuke asked, you just smiled and laughed. He didn't see your bruise yet.
"Sounds like a crazy fishing trip" Aang said.
"Did you at least get any good meat?" Toph asked.
"I did, the best meant of all" Sokka said, "The meat of friendship and fatherhood" he said as Suki, Hakoda and Chit Sang walked off of the air ship.
"I'm new, what's up everybody," Chit Sang said as he waived.
As Katara was reunited with her father, Sokka said, "We kindof went to a fire nation prison"
Daisuke, Kaito and Jet looked at you and Zuko with folded arms and worried expressions.
"Now which prison would that be" Kaito demanded.
"The Boiling Rock" you mumbled, you heard a gasp, and you assumed they saw your bruise.
"Kana!" Jet gasped. "Your face"
"What happened?" Daisuke asked with a frown.
"It doesn't matter, you should see the other guy," you said with a weary smile.
"As long as you're alright," Kaito said, "both of you" he said as pulled you and Zuko into a hug.
