Before you could go to bed, you and Zuko had to explain everything that happened to Daisuke, Kaito and Jet. They were upset but glad that you and Zuko are alight. Jet was more upset that no one at the Boiling Rock cared that he escaped from there. When they finally let you go to your room, you found that you weren't that tired anymore.

You brushed your hair as Zuko lounged on your bed. When you were done, you crawled into his arms and yawned.

"You're not thinking about going to sleep, are you?" Zuko asked, his voice seemed a little different than usual.

"Maybe" you said as you closed your eyes.

Suddenly Zuko moved so that you were lying on the bed and he was leaning over you. "I still need to teach you a lesson," he said with a sly smile.

You blushed a light shade of pink, "Maybe I should tease you more often" you mumbled as you bit your lip.

Zuko just smirked as he pulled you into a passionate kiss. You couldn't help but smile as the kiss ended. You were happy to be away from the Boiling Rock and you were happy to be with Zuko and you just felt wonderful.

"You look happy" Zuko commented as he started to kiss your neck.

You giggled, "We'd have a problem if I was upset right now"

"Kana" Zuko mumbled between kisses, "You know what I mean"

"True but it's much more fun to bother you" you said you turned so that you were on top of Zuko.

Suddenly Zuko sat up and caught your lips in a sweet kiss, which you gladly returned. He wrapped his arms around you as you repositioned yourself so your legs were on either side of his. Zuko rested his forehead against yours.

"I love you Kana" Zuko said as he smiled at you.

"I love you too," you said as you tackled him and hugged him tightly as you cuddled into his chest.

Zuko laughed, "how can you be so adorable and sexy?" he asked as he wrapped his arms around you and kissed your forehead.

You kissed up Zuko's neck to his lips, as you pulled away you lightly bit his lip then said, "I don't know what you're talking about." You giggled.

Zuko smirked before he pulled you into a passionate kiss. As the kiss deepened you barely noticed when Zuko moved on top of you. Zuko's hands wandered your body as your hands traced his toned muscles. Even though your kisses are passionate both of you are still very timid when it comes to each other's bodies, it just isn't something that either of you are ready for yet. You spent the rest of the night tangled in each other's loving embrace cuddling, kissing and talking.

The next morning you woke up cuddled up to Zuko with your head on his bare chest and one of your hands was resting on his chest while your other arm was wrapped around him. Zuko had one hand on top of yours and the other arm was wrapped around your lower back, his thumb was tucked under the hem of your skirt.

You smiled then kissed the center of Zuko's chest, right above his heart.

"Morning beautiful" Zuko yawned as he stretched.

"Morning sleepyhead" you said as you sat up and smiled. You frowned when you realized that you have responsibilities.

"We have to train Aang don't we?" Zuko asked, he clearly wanted to lie in bed with you all day. You nodded. After a moment Zuko spoke, "We should go on our date later" he suggested.

"Definitely" you agreed.

Zuko went to his room and you quickly got ready for the day, you dressed in a black skirt and a black strapless top. You met Aang and Zuko on one of the upper balconies. Training went very well, Aang is really improving.

Later that day you started to get ready for your date, you bathed and put on the black and gold corset style shirt, maroon uneven skirt and gold belt. You brushed your hair; it was almost as long as it used to be. You decided to do two waterfall braids that meet in the back, usually you wear your hair down, but you thought this was a nice change. Once you were finished getting ready you walked out into the main common area.

"My baby sister is all grown up," Kaito said dramatically. He was with Daisuke and Jet.

You laughed, "I guess I'll take that as a compliment,"

"Very pretty sis" Daisuke said with a smile.

You spoke with them for a few minutes before they left; Jet to find the freedom fighters and your brothers to go train. Once you were left alone you wandered around the common area; for some reason Zuko always takes forever to get ready.

You sat on the partially destroyed bench and looked at the completely destroyed fountain, their was a fairly small puddle of water, just enough to see your reflection. You frowned at the sight of the bruise. It was healing fairly fast, its not as purple as it was and it's a bit smaller but tonight is a special night and you wanted to look perfect. You became so lost in thought that you didn't notice Zuko's presence until you felt his arms wrap around you as he rested his chin on your shoulder. You could see his reflection in the puddle too.

"You look beautiful" Zuko said, he tried to sound mysterious, but then he realized what he implied, "you always look beautiful but you look especially beautiful now" he rambled. In that moment you realized that even though your face is bruised its still you and it doesn't matter, the bruise will heal. You just wished it would stop hurting.

You giggled, "Thanks Zuko, you clean up pretty well" you teased him. He wore a traditional fire nation shirt and black pants, they suited him.

Zuko smiled, "ready?" he asked. You nodded, as he released you from his embrace

And offered you his arm which you gladly took.

The two of you walked into town, talking and laughing. It was nice to be away from everyone. For once you were able to pretend that you aren't a wanted rouge firebender and that Zuko isn't a banished prince who committed high treason. Tonight you're just Kana and Zuko, two normal teenagers on a date.

When you got to town you found a small café, it was pretty empty, only two other groups, and two waitresses could be seen. You were seated instantly and you ordered soon after, your waitress was a plump older women with a motherly face.

"This is nice" you commented.

Zuko nodded and smiled, "I'm just glad we're finally away from everyone" he held your hand across the table.

You giggled, "It is nice, no older brothers trying to kill you, no freedom fighters asking me to tuck them in"

"No training, none of Sokka's jokes, or Appa licking my face" Zuko added.

You laughed, "Appa does like you" Zuko gave you a look so you continued, "But not as much as I love you"

"I love you too," Zuko said. "And I'm glad you love me more than a sky bison does" he added laughing; it was good to see Zuko so relaxed.

"Its so weird" you said after a few moments, "I haven't even know you for a year." You met Zuko in the beginning of fall, its only mid summer now.

"It feels so much longer, I kind of don't remember what life was like before I met you," he paused, "It didn't really matter before I met you"

"Aw Zuko," you sighed happily.

"Here's some jasmine tea on the house for the cute couple" the waitress said as she put down a tray with two teacups and kettle.

"Thank you so much," you said happily.

"Your food will be out shortly," The waitress said as she walked away with a smile.

After a moment Zuko caught your attention, "So why did you run away from me?" he asked referring to before you officially met.

"Um honestly" you said, "The soldiers standing behind you scared me" you said in embarrassment.

"I didn't want them to come" Zuko mumbled,

You giggled, "don't worry Zuko, if it makes you feel better I thought you were really attractive" Zuko smiled; "even though you had that silly ponytail," you added with a sly smile, it wouldn't be you if you didn't make fun of Zuko.

Zuko laughed, "I guess that ponytail was pretty bad"

A few moments later your food arrived, and the waitress said that she thought that you and Zuko were the cutest couple that's ever come in.

After the waitress left and the two of you started to eat you caught Zuko staring at you. You gave him a curious look and said, "What?" You couldn't help but giggle.

"Nothing you're just beautiful" Zuko said. You smiled as you blushed a light shade of pink.

When you were finished eating, Zuko paid for the food, and tipped the waitress who said she hopes that you and Zuko have many happy years together. The two of you blushed in embarrassment as you left the café.

You and Zuko wandered through the town, which was really you dragging Zuko through the town as you pointed out old people being adorable, pretty flowers, kids playing and everything else that you found interesting or pretty. Zuko just smiled the whole time.

Eventually you wandered into a forest, it reminded you of the one that surrounded your house. Zuko put an arm around your waist and pulled you close. You smiled as the two of you walked together in a comfortable silence. It was starting to get dark; the sky was filled with brilliant shades of purple, orange, reds and yellows. You rested you head on his shoulder as you walked. Zuko turned his head and lightly kissed your forehead, you couldn't help but smile.

You found a quiet little clearing surrounded by wild flowers with a big oak tree in the center. You looked at Zuko curiously, he nodded and smiled as he grabbed your hand and led you to the tree. He knows how much you love being outside. He sat with his back against the tree, you had you legs off to the side as you leaned into his chest and Zuko wrapped his arms around you. The two of you must have stayed there for hours talking, cuddling, looking at the sky, and sharing sweet kisses. It was perfect.

(Zuko's POV)

You rested your head against Kana's and pulled her slender body closer to you. You couldn't help but stare at her. Out of all the bad things you've done, all the mistakes and stupid decisions, you must have done something right because Kana loves you.

(Kana's POV)

"Zuko?" you asked in a soft voice.

He looked at you then rested his head against yours.

"What's going to happen when the war is over?" you asked.

Zuko stayed silent for a moment, then spoke, "I'm not sure, but I know that I won't let you go" he said softly.

You smiled, "you wouldn't be able to get rid of me even if you tried."

"I'd never try to" he said, after a moment he added, "I guess my Uncle will become fire lord like he was suppose to."

"Me and my brothers will go home and I guess the freedom fighters are moving in with us" you mused.

"Every minute that I don't have to be at the palace I'll be with you" Zuko said as he hugged you tightly.

"I can visit you in the palace too" you said as you cuddled into his chest.

"But for now why don't we live in the moment?" he asked.

You turned to look at him, "Did you have something in mind?"

Zuko smiled mischievously before he pulled you into a passionate kiss.
