Sonic, Shadow, and Silver were all at the Crisis City as they were being chased by the giant red fiery tornado, with all three speeding hedgehogs dodging the fireballs and vehicles chucked at them.
"I knew that tornado was carrying a car... but I would never think it would be doing this!" Sonic exclaimed as he took shocked glances back, panting as the intense heat was preventing him from going fast.
"Was there a reason we even came here?" Silver asked as he glanced at Sonic and Shadow, floating in the air as a truck missed him by a hair.
"Well, we were getting something important, but I forgot exactly where it was," Shadow brought up as he couldn't use Chaos Control due to not having emeralds on them.
To make matters worse, the first, anthropomorphic form of Iblis emerged out in front of them, destroying the bridge as the fire god grabbed all three hedgehogs in one fell swoop, gobbling them up as he bellowed in rage, the fire tornado going right through him as it spawned even more fiery tornadoes in response.
"I bet you can't go through that ring of fire." Knuckles told Sonic as he pointed at the red ring of fire in the volcanic interior of the Red Mountain.
"Ha! Watch me!" Sonic retorted as he jumped through the ring of fire, only for the ring to collapse on him as soon as he went through, his entire body lighting up in red and yellow flames. "YEOWCH! Hot, too hot!"
"Heh... what an idiot..." Knuckles laughed heartily as he pointed at Sonic, only for the burning hedgehog to bump into the red echidna, causing both of them to fall into the red lava below as they were both burning.
"You know what I don't like about this place?" Sonic commented as he was alongside Rouge.
Rouge, who had her arms full of different, shining diamonds, turned to Sonic. "Other than the fact that this place is teaming with icky green goop amongst the red lava, what?"
"...The fact that we have to wait on this dumb platform." Sonic remarked as he folded his arms, his left foot tapping impatiently as the platform suddenly was blasted high into the air, with Sonic holding onto Rouge's legs as Rouge began flying through the volcano, both of them being burned severely by a yellow lava plume as they both blinked, falling into the magma below.
Sonic and Amy were both wandering through the burning Chaotic Inferno Zone as they noticed all the blue rockets zipping through the smoldering husks of buildings amidst the flame cyclones, with different themed Egg pawns riding on them, the two anthropomorphic hedgehogs glancing at each other as Amy held her hands together with Sonic's hands.
"Ooh! I didn't know that there were blue rockets here!" Amy exclaimed as she turned to Sonic. "Anything else about this place that you would wanna tell me?"
Sonic rolled his eyes as he glanced back at Amy. "Well, as similar as this place is to Crisis City, it does have some differences. I mean, I didn't freeze as much on the rusted grind rails." He rubbed the back of his head with his right hand. "Although I think it did have this ridiculously huge fire monster..."
"Was his name Gigantis?" Amy asked as she spread her arms in the air, with Sonic squinting is eyes at her as he simply shook his head.
The volcanic monster Ifrit, suspiciously similar to Iblis, suddenly popped out and bellowed as he gobbled up both hedgehogs, diving back into the molten red magma below.
