"Do think they remember us?" Smellerbee asked, Longshot nodded with a smile, "I know how could they forget us" She was so excited to be reunited with her friends.

"Are you sure it's a good idea to see your 'friends'?" Katara questioned, "wouldn't it be better to just lay low" she argued.

Smellerbee and Longshot looked at each other sadly, was it a bad idea?

"You can lay low" you said to Katara, Toph, Aang and Sokka, "But we've been to Ember Island before, besides it would be weird if their friends see them and they ignore them"

"Besides, I wanna kick some butt in volleyball!" Daisuke said as he hi-fived Kaito.

"Maybe Chan will have another party, I could get my groove on" Kaito added.

"You did not just say that" you sighed embarrassed by his choice of words.

"At least he's not busting a move this time" Jet laughed.

"I don't think Chan will be having a party" Zuko snickered.

You turned to him, "What did you do?" you asked curiously.

"Well after you stole Chan's boat, I sort of helped my crazy sister and her friends trash his house"

"You did not!" you laughed.

"Hey you saw the way he looked at you," Zuko reasoned as he put his hands up defensively. "Besides he kicked us out"

"After the fight you two started, I'm not surprised" you mumbled.

"I was jealous" Zuko mumbled as he wrapped his arms around you.

"I was just being a jerk," Jet admitted timidly.

"Well if you angry jerks are done reminiscing it looks like we're almost there" Sokka said as he pointed to Ember Island.

Aang, Katara and Kaito used their bending to camouflage Appa in clouds. Zuko pointed out the way to his family's summer home and soon enough you landed.

You were amazed at how pretty the house was, even though it was a bit run down. The house, if you could even call it a house, was far away from town and all of the other houses. To be honest you had no idea that it was here, you thought that you explored the entire island but you never found this place. Zuko gave everyone a quick tour of the house and pointed out rooms where everyone could sleep.

Everyone quickly dispersed to settle in and you were soon left alone with Zuko.

"So where are we going to stay?" you asked.

"Well the freedom fighters took my old room so we could sleep in my parent's old room. If you're ok with that?" he asked.

"It's fine with me" you replied.

Zuko smiled slightly then took your hand, "Come on" he said as he led you through the maze of hallways. The two of you walked in a comfortable silence. You couldn't help but look around; there were paintings of people you assumed were Zuko's ancestors. One portrait caught your eye.

You stopped abruptly "Zuko, is this little you?" you asked as you examined a portrait of a boy around 8, his hair was up in a ponytail and his golden eyes held a determined look.

Zuko wrapped his arms around you from behind and rested his chin on your shoulder. You shivered slightly at his touch. "It's me" he replied.

"You were so adorable" you told him. Zuko just chuckled and motioned for you to follow him. "How far is this room anyway?" you asked.

"It's the furthest from the other bedrooms, but we're almost there" Zuko replied.

You nodded silently and continued to look around as Zuko led you. You couldn't help but notice that most of Zuko's ancestors didn't really look like him; occasionally you would recognize a feature, you just assumed that he must take after his mother.

Finally you arrived at the last room in the hall. In the center of the room was a small meditation area, behind that was a huge bed full of soft looking pillows and a red velvet blanket. There was a large wardrobe and a vanity mirror as well as a few random pieces of furniture. Then you saw it, an actual bathroom, with an actual tub.

Without a thought you said, "I love you, I'll see you in an hour" then you walked into the bathroom, closed the door and began filling the tub with water.

A few moments later you heard a slightly disgruntled Zuko say, "Kana I thought we could have some alone time"

"We can, after I bathe" you called, "Seriously Zuko, the last time I had a real bath was in Ba-Sing-Se, I deserve this" you said as you heated the water.

"I could join you" Zuko said in a low voice, you felt your heartbeat race as you began to blush.

"Zuko" you mumbled unsure.

"Kana, no pressure, I'd never force you to do anything" Zuko said softly.

"I know" you sighed, "I love you"

"I love you too."

(Zuko)

You looked around the room; it was the same as you remembered it. The room reminded you of you mother, she decorated the summer home. You walked over to the vanity mirror as memories came flooding back. When you were really little and would have nightmares you'd always wander in here to find your mother sitting at the vanity mirror brushing her hair. You smiled at the memory.

You felt compelled to open one of the draws, when you did you found a simple hair ornament. You immediately recognized it. You thought that your father got rid of it a long time ago but there it was. The ornament was very simple, it had a fire nation symbol like most do, but this one was very old. You remembered that your father hated when your mother would wear it.

'She must have hid it here' you thought. One time you asked your mother why your father hated it so much. All she would say is that it was a gift from her mother. You picked the ornament and smiled, your mother left behind so few things, you were happy to have this.

After your refreshing shower you dressed in your usual attire, and quickly brushed your hair.

When you entered the bedroom, Zuko barely noticed you; he was sitting on the bed, distracted by something that you could quite tell what it was.

"Zuko?" you questioned getting his attention as you crawled into bed with him.

He looked startled at first but soon relaxed, "Hey" he mumbled.

"What do you have there?" you asked curiously.

He showed you a very simple but beautiful hair ornament, then said "It was my mother's," unsure of what to say you stayed silent as you examined it. Suddenly Zuko spoke "I want you to have it"

You were nearly speechless, "Zuko..." you trailed off, "I couldn't, it was your mother's"

"That's why I want you to have, it meant a lot to her" he reasoned.

You smiled as Zuko offered you the ornament again. Zuko smiled as soon you took. You quickly pulled up part of your hair into a topknot and put the ornament around it. When you were finished you looked back at Zuko, "How do I look?" you asked timidly.

"As beautiful as always"
